I believe that personal development is one the best ways to become successful. By continuing to learn and meet new people, we are strengthening our minds & ourselves. Our brain will become less stagnant. I try to read at least one book every couple of months (I've been falling behind lately) on business or finances, or art etc. Since I commute 2 hours a day, I have turned my car into a traveling university. I have many books and trainings on cd that i can pass the time with too. Whenever possible I attend a seminar too. (at least once a year). I love meeting and socializing with like minded people. I think that by opening your mind and learning more, you can come up with new ways to better your business and your life. I am interested in anyone's ideas on this topic and of learning ways that you work on your personal development. thanks you!

Generally, I work the same way as you on personal development. This year I vowed to read more books. I have been falling behind for a couple of years. Thus far, I have read almost 20 books this year on self-improvement pertaining to my line of work. I read them on my way to work or while waiting for clients. Listening to books on CDs is a great way to ingrain your mind with successful thoughts and ideas. My job also requires that I have a minimum number of training on skills and knowledge every year. As such, I'm "forced" to attend trainings often, but I love going for trainings and learn new things. Whenever I have the time, I'd attend seminars too. Thus, my two main ways to develop personally is books and training.

It's true. I felt that I was being left behind when I stopped reading. In my line of work, it was important for constant learning and re-learning. For you, listening to audio books is definitely going to help you keep up with reading while commuting. :)

that is awesome! i would definitely read more if i didn't commute almost 2 hours a day! It's great that you got back into reading. I feel that if i don't keep reading, my brain won't be so sharp!

Well, a lot of things can be done to help work on my personal development. I think personally this is very important as it only helps you to become the person you are really wanting to be. It is important to keep on doing this all the time and never Stop or life could become boring for sure. One of the many things I do is research and read about things and see what I can learn from them. Especially when it comes to being a better person in Business and in life. Another thing is Prayer and reading the Bible. For me this is an important thing to do as my walk in life would not be complete without them and my Faith in Jesus to see me thru. When you choose to open up your mind and your spirit it helps you to see what is important and where you really need to be.

As you network with different people and leaders, watch them carefully. You can learn a lot through observation. You can learn how not to lead people by watching a bad and ineffective leader just the same as learning good techniques by watching a great leader of people. Just keep your eyes open and learn as you go.

I love reading too but I am not interested to buy books to read. I love reading e-books using my computer. There are lots of free downloadable e-books with interesting topics on the net.

Personal development is a must! This is a great discussion, thanks for sharing. I read a lot of finance books, inspirational books, and online articles and such. I'm learning how to meditate and manifest things in my life as well. I find myself at seminars and live events quite often too. The most powerful development exercise that I take part in is sharing education and experience with other people. Spending time with people who are extremely positive can change your life in ways that word cannot describe!

Ever since I was a kid, i love to do a lot of deep meditations. And they really helped me a lot, with my personal issues, as well as how i relate to the world. They ancients say Know Thyself and I did through a lot of inner journeys. Indeed when You know your True Self you can go beyond anything. :)

Reading, communicating, networking, local classes are all ways I work on personal development. Getting involved in the community is a great way to learn more and find out about opportunities you might otherwise miss.
