While participating on discussions here in mylot, i heard my baby at my back sobbing while in her sleep and i can't help it to watch her do that, she always does sobbing while sleeping and i have to stop my work and try to comfort her i feel pity on her because i didn't know what made her sob maybe she's just dreaming some bad things and i am trying to stop her sobs through rubbing her and kissing her forehead and calling her name softly, sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't, and there are times as well that she will cry a lot during her sleep and it bothered me so much when she's like that. Have you experienced this with your child?

A baby has a strong tie with its mother. So, when a mother is sad or troubled, the baby will also feel it and cry. Or it could be just like what you thought that your baby had a bad dream and cry for it. Maybe other members can give you a better explanation and advices.

Yeah, I've experienced this before too. My oldies taught me how to deal with it, if your baby cries, try to call his/her name and tell her that your near her and touch him/her gently. They believe that sobbing babies during sleep are having a bad dream or sometimes there are unseen forces or "late relatives or loved ones" are trying to play with them. I'm not trying to scare you, its just my oldies beliefs and I'm just sharing them to you

Thanks whengcat, This is useful too for my baby. I'll share also mine. Everyday, before my baby goes to sleep at night, I hold her close and we pray together for her guidance and better health. After that, that's the time that I lay her on bed. And also a time for me for MyLot :)

Hi. kheydia. I am so sorry... My kids have all done this, especially my daughters. My oldest daughter used to do this a lot. She would wake up crying. At first she would be sobbing then her sobbing turned to crying. It scares me because I always wonder why she cries in her sleep all of the time. She does not do it as much as she used to when she was four years old though, My three year old daughter cries in her sleep every blue moon. She hardly ever does it as much as her other sister does though. My oldest daughter sometimes would be able to tell me why she was crying in her sleep. She would tell me about bad things about me and her father, brother and sister. You are doing the right thing by soothing your daughter so that she can drift back into sleep. I think that you should play soft baby music that will help to ease her mind. I also think that you should take your daughter out the bed and hold her very close to you for a while. Rock her back and forth and talk softly to her. This is what I usually will do with any of my kids. I hope that your daughter will be okay. Most likely, she is having a very bad dream. I wish her more sweet dreams from now on.Take care of your precious angel.

I've never experienced anything like that to my child. Maybe your child was dreaming about something that makes your child sobbing in his sleep. Something very unique, and you experience it.

I totally understand how you feel. He does that when going to bed at night, I put him down and let him sleep on his own, he cries and sounds miserable, I feel very bad to let him scream for even a minute, I let him take the pacifier, play some music and rub his forehead, try to put him to sleep that way so that he won't sound like a poor baby.

I do really feel so worried about that when my baby crying and helpless, i can't do anything about it, except to hug her to let her feel that mama's just right here. Poor babies.

Hi kheydia, yes I have noticed that my babies sometimes cry in their sleep. They also laugh. Sometimes they are woken up by that. I think it is caused by the dream. When they have a sad dream, they cry and sometimes cry out in their sleep. When they have a happy dream, they smile and sometimes laugh out loud. I remember doing that: crying out loud and laughing out loud while sleeping when I was a kid.

Hi,i want to ask you is your baby sleeping near the computer. Well, i don't think computer is good for babies. First, it may make noises, even small ones will affect the quality of your baby's sleep. second, there are too much radiation. if you put your baby in the same room with the computer, i suggest you put her in a different room. if the same thing still happens. then there are other reasons for it. have your baby experienced something horrible or see some scary things on TV? if it is not the reason, then you should take her to the hospital to have a check. best wishes to you and your baby.

Yes, your daughter might be having a bad dream that is why she's sobbing while she sleeps. It's amazing watching babies sleep. I watch my nieces sleep, and I love it when they smile in their sleep. Sometimes, they suck on air, too, maybe dreaming that they're feeding.
