i believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge, that myth is more potent than history, that dreams are more powerful than facts, that hope always triumphs over experience, that laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death. To be old and wise, you must first have to be young and stupid, the secret of happiness is not doing the things that you like but liking the things that you do.

The secret to happiness is being contented of what you have in life and learning to appreciate simple things. No wonder children can have pure joy over simple things because their lives are less complicated.

You are an artist! Those are beautiful words and they paint a pretty picture. And, yes, they hold a certain degree of truth. Certain degree because the truth depends on whose eyes are reading those words.

I totally agree. If more people are taking time to imagine then they may be able to create things which can make the world a better place. However I should comment that imagination alone would not help unless it is acted upon and converted for the real world.

Not only liking the things that you do but loving the things you do. That sure is one way of being truly happy inside and out! Life is simple, we just don't need to push something that we don't have so we won't be stressed out..and end part, we will be happy.

HI!
For me happiness is about everything including the bad and the good. There is always happiness behind good thing and if we are smart and know what life is all about we will see happiness behind every single bad things that happen to us. All those that you mentioned above are connected each other and if the combination of them will give us much more happiness which has been our dream.

You are correct. I just want to add that being contented in what you have is another secret of happiness. Some people says theyre unhappy because they dont have these or those, blah! Blah. Contentment is a key to enjoy life and appreciate the things the you ALREADY have.

I had to chuckle when I read "the secret to happiness is not doing the things that you like but liking the things that you do." Today I was quite irritated that I had a leaking pipe under the kitchen sink. I did not like having to spend my time dealing with that problem and it was a task I was dreading. I am a girly girl with no plumbing knowledge or experience whatsoever. But then I let go of all the frustration and anger and bitterness about another thing gone wrong, and I just thought, "I'm going to see what I can do about this." After a few short minutes of research on the internet and a quick trip to the hardware store, I felt a sense of empowerment that I could take of this problem. I didn't mind getting my hands dirty. And I found I enjoyed knowing that I can handle problems I didn't think I could. My discord was based on my limited view of my own capabilities, and I discovered I am more capable than I had thought. And I liked fixing the leaky pipe myself. So I think the secret to happiness is opening yourself to find it in places you never thought you would. I believe circumstances are presented to us not to give us what we necessarily want, but what we need. I had been feeling low because I had been feeling incompetent; I was thrown into a situation that I had no idea how to handle, but I did it successfully and regained a renewed sense of competence, which was just what I needed.
