Gas in class

What do you do? I was in Yoga and found myself stuck in the back corner of the room. OK, I was late. But after about half of the class hour I started to smell
something really bad, then I recognized it. Any gas escaping from the participents
collected in that corner of the room and there was no escape. All I could do was start coughing and leave the room, once outside I was laughing so hard I was crying.
I waited the rest of the class time outside and then went back to get my Yoga mat, but know I have to figure out how to return to class and not start laughing. For sure I will be early from now on. Maybe I should get some of those gas tablets and
just hand them out at the door. So how did your Monday start?

Very funny, but seriously yoga is a form of ancient eastern exercises that was designed to ease the mind as well as rid the body of toxins. The body gets rid of waste in several ways according to eastern practitioners and so does our modern science like sweating, burping, urinating etc.. and yes farting. Looks like one of your classmates had a lot of toxic substances accumulated in his body for a long time and was released by yoga

Maybe you did a wind-releasing pose and one of you had some wind to release. Fortunately for me, I was doing the yoga pose at home, and I wondered why I was releasing so much gas. So, I read up on the pose, and sure enough, it had an alternative name - Wind-releasing pose - aimed at relieving stomach gas.

Actually there is this pose called "Pavana mukta asana" Paaana = wind, mukta = to set free and asana = pose. You will find a video on youtube on this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZCUSF3D86k

I remember in yoga, we'd get in a position, and somebody would let out an involuntary toot, and the teacher would say not to get embarrassed, that it's totally normal for that to happen.
But I have to say it was never so bad that I never actually smelled the result.

It sounds like someone ate something that did not agree with them. Gas is sort of natural, don't you think? I know that yoga class is not the right place for that but what is the right place or time? Sometimes that happens without control. I would bring a surgical mask with me the next time, or a cloths pin. LOL . Just kidding.

that's funny :P and unfortunate. my Mondays are pretty much the same as any other day right now. as i have a job i don't like with a unpredictable schedule. I wake up when i need to and i check my facebook and e-mail, eat breakfast, then decide what needs to be done for the day and when i am going do it. nothing to exciting that's for sure.

Oh, that is too hilarious. I have not taken a yoga class yet, but I can just imagine. I will remember to go early if I take that, or pilates for that matter.

Lol that's funny. As to what to do. Announce it to the class and get the culprit to own up. Find out what they have eaten the night before and make them promise not to eat the same thing again. On the other-hand you may just want to ignore it and carry on with the class.

It's not something we can help, but it's pretty funny! I learned a long time ago how to release it slowly and silently so it won't be so bad but it takes a lot of control.
My Monday began great! Woke up early and listened to the birds waking up, I love to hear them early in the morning. Did a bunch of short articles, mowed my yard (ouch!!) and cleaned up the house a bit. I'm ready to flop down on the couch for awhile!

That is very funny and your idea of distributing gas tablets at the door is a very good one! I would imagine some yoga positions would contribute to the problem! My Monday did not have anything extraordinary in it, just the usual grocery shopping and a very expensive bill at the end of it at the checkout!

Lol funny way to start your week, smelly too. I would just try to remember who you were by and stay clear of them the next few times. Maybe it was just something they ate. Expelling gas is a natural part of life but it can be very embarrassing. Even for the people smelling or hearing it, not just the person who dealt it.

Serves you right for being late. Hopefully you will never be late again! Now, some asanas in yoga compress the stomach and intestines, leading to expulsion og accumulated gas. This is normal and nothing to be embarrassed about. It is a yoga class, not the elevator. There is a method to avoid this. Emptying out the bowels about 3 hours before the class. Not eating too much protein also helps.
