Is 65-70 degrees really hot enough to be half-naked?

Maybe I'm just getting old and NYC isn't the city to get old in, LOL. But as a married 35 year old female, I think my inner prude is emerging.
On Easter Sunday, i saw women, some obviously older than me with their bare thighs out dragging along a child as they pranced on the concrete with 4 inch spiked heels on. Now there has always been scantly clad women and there always will be. But with that being said, its not even really hot. I see grown women, I'm not even talking about teen-aged girls. Grown women with their children and without, with overflowing cleavage, tight, tight pants or skirts, stocking-less legs and REALLY high heels on. I even saw a para-professional for special needs kids walking her charge to the bus with skinny jeans on and high heels.
Is it me? Am I becoming too conservative? Or is the saying there is a time and place for everything just gone out the window, concerning grown-womens dress?

It would be shocking if one saw a matured female wearing pigtails but don't you think there is hardly a line between what an older person and someone a little younger would be wearing? The norm should apply to both the young and old when it comes to going about scantily clad.

I still say Reaperrotten that the norm should apply to both the young and old when it comes to going about scantily clad. That the younger girls do not know fully what they should wear is also something I cannot go with!

I agree because their mothers should be telling them but what to do when your mother doesn't know?

I do give younger girls some slack. They don't know fully what they should or shouldn't do. Dressing nice and attractive is a art, that takes time to learn. I personally think there is a big difference between what 30+ women should wear and a 18-25 year old. But it could all be down to what state you live in.

No, it's not just you! My grandmother would turn over in her grave. lol I guess the saying 'If you've got it flaunt it'. That is where these women are at. I think they must think the woman wearing the least clothes wins the man or something. High heels is where it is at now days too. Ugh!

GRANDMOTHER!!! LOL. I think they think that too. This is NYC and there is 20 women to every man here. But really what kind of man you going to attract? Like my grandmother use to say, the kind interested in only one thing. And as for the high heels, am I the only one that remembers that heels that high are bad for your body? Back, knees, ankles feet???

@celticeagle....they may win the man in the meanest sense of the phrase. But I doubt that they keep 'em.

Yes,, only one kind. Sad that they seem to want that. Heels aren't great for you. But, occasionally they aren't bad. When you really want to look nice and in fashion. Just not all the time.

It does surprise me. I was a teen-ager in the early 90's and I clearly remember there was teen trying to be sexy clothing and grown woman sexy clothing. What happened? Did most of the women in my generation forget how to be sexy without looking foolish or desperate?

Times have definitely changed! Nowadays I even see older women dressing very inappropriately. I don't think it is okay at all but it is their choice.
I also live in NYC and I saw a teen age girl wearing a tube top with an open short sleeve shirt a few weeks ago. I was wearing a sweater and a coat and I will still cold. My daughter and I shook our head in amazement. She looked cold and silly too. I told my daughter she will regret her decision when she wind up in the hospital with pneumonia!

Teen-aged girls are going to do that, they always have even when I was teen. I was never one of those teens because I didn't like to being cold. LOL.
I'm talking about these older women, who should know better. I'm not saying after a certain age you have to dress like a grandmother. I just think after a certain age you should know how to dress nice and sexy, without showing the world your goodies.

Going around ¾ naked these days is more about showing skin than comfort in warm weather. The 65°-70° can be hotter where the humidity is higher. But 65°-70° here in Kentucky is comfortably cool. I have no respect for women who are showing cleavage and butt cheeks. What's the point other than exhibitionism? I think the high heels are fashionable but should be worn with dresses. If they go around looking like h00kers, they have no right to complain about the consequences. I'll probably get slammed for that last remark but seriously, what do they expect? People to tell them how cool and fashionable they look? Not a chance here.

Hi, welcome to mylot. I think sure you would start enjoying in mylot here.
There are many ways to reduce the heat in summer and get chilled out, reducing the dress alone on your body won't decrease the heat i think so. I see many of them doing like this not only i summer, but also in cold times. Many think that they to do this to show their beauty, but they don't feel guilty to show their bare body to all. I appreciate you that you are not too conservative and every women must think about it.

Hi. Reaprotten. Welcome to myLot! Yes, I am very familiar with the style of dress that these young women are wearing. All that I can say that the weather is just not all that hot to be wearing all of their skin out. But, that is just how many young women like to dress. I am 32 years old and I will wear nice clothing but not when it shows just about all of my body though. I am too lady like for that. It is nothing wrong with looking nice and sexy, it just should be done in a respectable manner, especially if you have your children with you or if a woman has a role of an authority figure. People are watching them and it is always very important to dress professionally or in a decent way.

Exactly my sentiment. I like to look nice and sexy if the occasion calls for it. I'm not talking about young women, they will make their mistakes and learn their lessons. I'm talking about clearly 30+ to 50+... I didn't even write about the fact that a lot of them really should wear bigger size clothes.

I don't see the problem with skinny jeans, but I do have a thing against showing too much skin. Preteens, teens, adults,- they all wear short-shorts in southern california, short enough to see the underwear. Half the time I see a butt cheek hanging out. It's just not something I want to witness when I'm trying to mind my own business.
But then again, everyone gets the same impression. If women dress that way, it takes a toll on them. Sure they get attention from guys, but they don't get much respect from other women.

I have no problem with skinny jeans either, other than the fact that attorneys are using them as a defense in rape cases. The reason i mention it, was because this women was taking a child with a helmet on his head to the bus and I would imagine working with those type of children wearing heels and jeans she couldn't comfortably squat in to be unnecessary.
I don't even know if they do it for male attention. My single guy friends say its not uncommon to try to chat a women up and get attitude. Like they don't want the attention.

I personally don't think no one should be wearing tank tops in 65 or 70 degree weather. It's not summer yet. I think the best thing to wear would be something like a short sleeve shirt and a pair of pants. That's what I've been wearing here in Baltimore for the past few days with the exception of Tuesday where I wore a shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Sometimes people wear revealing clothing more often than others because they might get hot faster. So, sometimes it depends on the genetic makeup in their family.
