i felt really sad for the 18 year old mother who has just given birth in a public hospital because she found out that her baby girl was stolen right at the hospital! A day after giving birth, a nurse came to take the baby and told her that it's time to put the baby back to the nursery, but when she woke up the next morning and asked for her baby, she found out that her baby is already missing. The "nurse" who came to get her baby the night before turned out not to be a real nurse and not working in the hospital.. it is really sad that people nowadays have become so evil that they are already resorting to stealing babies!

some reported has tried that here to. they were trying to prove that the security of hospitals are not strict so they tried to steal a baby but they were unsuccessful and were jailed. I hope they find that baby. poor mother. if that was me, i'd go insane.

I always have a home birth. I wouldn't ever choose to have a hospital birth. In my home country security is high in maternity units to protect the babies plus the mothers. I feel ever so sorry for the 18 year old that had her baby stolen by a lady pretending to be a nurse. I can't understand the security in this hospital being so lax. The 18 year old might sue the hospital I imagine. I worry for the baby girl's safety. I hope the police find the lady that has stolen this baby. Stealing a baby is a serious crime.

Hi. purplehaze. This is very sad. I hope that they find the woman that stole her baby from her. These people are good imitators as nurses. They will pose as a nurse that cares, but all the while they are stealing a baby that is not even theirs. This is very sad and I hope that something can be done about it too. I have always gotten so scared to leave my baby alone in another room. I always thought that someone would take my baby away from me too. But it never happened. This is certainly an terrifying experience for this young mother to have to go through. My genuine and earnest prayers goes out to her in finding her baby girl. I also hope that the nurse will be caught too. I also pray for her baby's safety return too.

This is sad. The hospital needs better security. When I had my daughter 8 years ago she wore a band that if removed from the labor and delivery floor an alarm wld go off. Also they didnt put the babies in the nursery. The baby is always with the parent. When my son was born same deal different hospital and state. Band, matching bands so they cld match him with us, daughter had that too when born. Never left my side. Also to visit you had to sign in and wear a badge and be buzzed into the floor. My daughter was a civillian hospital my son a military hospital. This woman was probably stalking her. She knew this was a young mother, alone at the time, had access to this hospital so possibly a former employee or someone who had done some homework on this hospital. She must have been deseperate for a baby and felt a teenager cldnt care for a baby like she cld. What she did is wrong though. Babies change so much in the first cpl months, year that hopefully they find it soon. Hopefully she is caring for the baby like a mother wld. So sad and I pray they find the baby.

OMG, i can very well understand what that girl might me going through. If i don't see my son in front of my eye when we are outside someplace, i get panicky. Just imagine the girl not even knowing what has happened to her little baby. I don't understand how people can ROB others children. I just hope she finds her baby. Its really sad.

hello purple, I just wonder how that person managed to exit the hospital entrance without being approached by the guard. Unless the woman who pretend to be a nurse put the baby inside a big bag...or...how does she really managed to escape from the guard. Maybe those guard who were in-charged needs to be under interrogation too. have a good day always

This is so sad but not new at all. The local hospital here has little arm bands that go on the babies at birth that sets off an alarm if they go off the floor. This was made just for this reason. People can become crazy when they have lost or cannot have kids and stealing one seems to be a way the ones who really lose their senses go about it. It is really sad and we will keep that poor girl and her baby in our prayers.

Oh gosh how devastating to hear this. I can see how easily it is to entrust someone who was dressed like a nurse at the time. I just wonder how she was able to take the baby out of the hospital area without being questioned. I know here we have a lot of security and it would not be easy but certainly bad people have their ways and with careful planning I can see how it can happen. Gosh if we can't trust our hospital what is this world coming to. Have you heard if the baby was recovered back to the mom?

I pity that mother. I am a student nurse and I have seen a lot of mother's giving birth and I see that it's not really easy. To think that she carried that baby for 9 months, she bear the pain of labor, she probably went baby shopping already, parental expectations, excitement and LOVE. I think having her baby stolen is really heinous. How could someone be so heartless. I think the hospital also have to take responsibility on this. They should have a tighter security because losing a child is not really something you could just brush off and forgive.
