When You Just Don't Feel Like Replying To Your Own Discussion Responses

I hate when I create a discussion and then I just don't feel like responding to the people who reply to them. There goes some cents down the drain. It's like a blah myLot mood or something. It happens quite often so I have to take a break from my own discussions for a little bit and then go back and respond to them at a later time.
Does this ever happen to you? What do you do about it?

Don't you just HATE it when that happens!!! When it happens to me, I just remind myself that I don't HAVE to respond in any given time frame!!! If I try & force myself to respond, then my brain locks up completely. So, I go out & walk around the block to refresh my brain!!! Then when I get back, I have a whole new attitude & a new zest for completing what i started!!!

We could have a MyLot walking club. It is sometimes hard to feel fresh on a discussion.

It's similar for me. Except my brain doesn't lock up. I just get impatient and frustrated, so I need to take a break. Maybe next time I'll take a walk. That might help! Thanks for the tip!

Ah, life is annoying. Isn't it?
I don't make payout every month either. School and work get in the way. But hey, if I'm having fun here, that's all that matters and 'll make payout eventually, right?

that's funny.not in the mood mode. i don't waste any cents here so as long as i can respond to all the comments here, i will do it. it's just my fingers that will surrender. i sometime suffer from joint pains after a day of responding here. i make sure i made a dollar a day. it's been a routine here. don't give up and get up pal!every cent counts!

Wow! A dollar! You must type a lot! I've only reached a dollar once. It wasn't too hard, but it wasn't exactly easy!
I don't really waste cents, I just, well, prolong it. I can't usually respond to all of the responses in one day, but I usually try to do most as soon as possible. Good luck with your earnings!

How do you make a dollar a day? I'm lucky to make 10 cents. I'm not here for the money, but I could buy a few books on a dollar a day.

In a way I am glad that I do not get many responses as that way I can concentrate on commenting on responses without getting tired. I always comment on responses which activity I thoroughly enjoy. For you I could say 'stitch in time saves nine'If you immediately act as and when you get a notification then you will not have a load to attend to. Good Luck!

But Stephanie. Would you not like to read what responses you receive and when you do that it will take just a minute to comment. And that means more earnings too!

Of course! It's not that I don't respond! I just don't respond right away. I can't. Not with life in the way. I wish.

Hi Steph
I do not start many discussions to begin with so I can say I get in that mode. Whenever I do start a discussion, I try to plan my timing so that I do comment to each and every person. Sometimes a break definitely will help and as you know my dear friend it is never too late to comment to any discussion no matter how old it is.
You have to date in my opinion done well commenting because I have always received not one but several back and forth from you.

Not starting as many discussions leaves you the luxury of commenting thoroughly and back and forth interaction. It makes the whole interaction much more fun as well.

@Marixa: Aw, thank you! I do try to respond, it just might not be very timely due to to other things, but I will usually eventually respond!
@GardenGetty: I like that interaction! it's pretty fun! I usually do do tat! ...Like now!

Well I agree to some extent though I would say most times I don't feel like responding is when I do not see my point or topic understood. Usually when that happens I just give up on that and move to my next topic or go on to reply on new topics of the day.

I was actually talking about when you make your own discussions and people respond to them and you respond back to their replies. If you ever get tired of doing that and don't want to.
Thanks for the reply though!

Usually I do not start many discussions. When I do, for the first day or two I comment on all responses. Then, as it slows down, I only go back maybe once a week. I did not always respond to all, but I have found that if you do not keep up the interaction, you tend to lose the interest of others and they will not respond as often.

I've seen that too. But I enjoy the interaction and most users do as well! So why not respond, you know? More fun and more earnings! Who doesn't like that?
I try to respond within the first few days, but sometimes other things get in the way or I have too many responses to handle!

Yeah , that happens to me all the time. I just feel so bad for people coming to my discussions as of late. My older discussions , I do see some replies. I've been meaning to get back to them , all to no avail. I feel a sense of lagging which should not happen. Maybe I shall follow Marissa's idea and take a walk around the block..

Hey, walking could help! You never know!
I've been slacking too lately, but that's mostly due to school. Now that I'm back, I can focus on the discussions more.

I can totally understand how you feel. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and you might wonder how am I ever going to respond back to everyone. I just take my time and do a little here and there. Although I bet if the incentives were a little better then you'd feel more in the mood. I know I would.

But I do respond here and there, just like you. A bit every time I log in. I will respond...eventually!

With my mood disorder this does happen quite frequently. I try to do alittle everyday. I may not finish all the responses and respond to discussions but I do try to do some. I think alittle is better than none. I am going to be going on vacation for afew days in afew weeks and will have alot to answer when I get back. Oh well, it will give me something to do.

I do the same thing as you when it comes to responding. I might not finish all, but I try to and I will eventually finish.

Ooohh! I can so relate!
It happens. And I just can't control it sometimes.
Sometimes procrastination will just knock on my door.
I do most of the time participating in discussions in the morning where most of my brain cells are active. Then in the afternoon I do commenting back to my respondents and to those who commented back to my responses. And it usually is the time when I feel sleepy. But I try to go back to them on a later day.
I only start a discussion once a week, sometimes not.
I used to be a discussion starter before, but I enjoy responding now to discussions.

I used to respond a lot more than I do now. I hope to get back to that soon after I catch up on all of these responses. My goodness. One of my discussions had over 70 responses!
And it's not that I procrastinate, it's just hard to get all of them done in one shot!

Wow! That's a lot! I think the most responses I had was 40.
I don't start discussions as often as before. It can be a drag to comment to such a number. But what I usually do, I alternate responding back and replying to discussions here so I wouldn't be bored.

No that doesn't happen to me.

Oh, you are overwhelmed by the numerous responses. I feel that way too, if i see a lot of responses. I just don't know where to start and which discussion first should i comment back.
Just take your time. Comment back on each responses because that counts as your earnings. As they say, each time you type back nicely it will earn .

Hi stephanie...
Yup, it sometimes happens to me specially when the comments are of the same thought. So it means I have to reply the same thought also as what I have replied from the previous comment. So, when that happens, I keep myself away from my discussions for a few hours or even a day before responding to them again.

Well, part of my problem can be that sometimes Life interferes, and it makes it hard to be able to find the time to keep up with the New discussions I am starting, and having people think it is worth responding back in them. But there are times in my life where it is hard to respond back to others, and sometimes the people responding might not be saying enough to give me a reason to want too. But personally I would not let it bother you. Just continue to respond back to others responding back to you when you can, and Good things will happen in the end.

StephanieAnnC,
I believe it is more that some myLot moods when we do not "feel" like replying to our discussion responses.
For a start, there are those responses which you just simply cannot reply at all like irrelevant, out of point or someone who seems to be preaching some bigotries.
Then, there are those that just want to empty their loaded stress on our turf. Rather than getting ourselves caught up with their whims and woes, I believe that leaving them alone to be the best living policy.
Lastly, I think you will come across those posts which just does not have a single response at all. I suppose that's life here.

Oh no. It's not YOUR discussions that I don't feel like replying to. It's MY responses I get from MY discussion. I'm pretty good at responding to others discussions. Mine on the otherhand...

All the time!
Sometimes it is tiring to respond to the same topic over and over again. Specially if a lot of people have the same idea for a response, then you end up replying the same idea as well over and over again.
When that happens to me. I alternate between replying, and responding to discussions.
@StephanieAnnC (4274)
