I am so sleepy

lately i dont get enough sleep. I usually get 4-5 hours of sleep everyday. I dont know why but its kinda hard for me to go to sleep at night. I tried drinking milk (even though i dont like the taste of milk), reading stuff and etc. How many hours did you sleep? Do you always get the recommended 8 hours of sleep a day?

in one of the health seminars i attended which talked about sleep, it was recommended to have 6-8 hours of restful sleep for adults. less than or more than that has some side effects on our internal organs like the heart, liver and kidney. so too little or too much can be a bad thing. i don't have any problem with sleep. for the rare times that i find it hard to sleep, i usually try to read some literature. hardcore reading materials which uses highfalutin words and medical terms would really put me to sleep easily. but normally some or any of these will do the trick: - shower before bed - nice clean bedsheets and comfortable bed with comfy pillows - a favorite fresh scent (usually lavender or apple would induce sleep) - soft music - light dinner (not too much on carbs) - something warm like tea to relax the nerves (mine is hot tsokolatte) - vitamin c supplement i don't do 8. 6 hours of sleep is enough for me. goodluck! hagd!

Thanks for the info. I think its just a phase. Maybe my body clock adjusting... I am getting enough sleep now... usually 6-8 hours of sleep a day but now i notice that i usually get up around 7 am even if I went our and sleep around 5am... ^_^ anyway, it seldom happen that i go out that late...

right, the recommended is 8 hours i think you must get a little sport, or do homework at night if you read something that make you happy, you will can't sleep do work that can make you tired, if you sleep 4-5hours you will easily get sick because bad vitality ok

thanks for the concern... i dont do homework anymore because i am already working. btw, i read somewhere that doing sports or working out before you sleep will actually make you more awake than help you get some sleep...

I don't get to sleep 8 hours as well. I credit it to too much caffeine intake during the day. I usually have coffee, iced tea and soft drinks during the day. The longest nap I could have lasts for 15 mins only. I guess you have to lessen your caffeine intake and get busy during the day so you'll get a sound sleep at night.

I also sleep 4-5 hours on weekdays. I don't know why, but a brewed coffee at work makes me wake up. But when weekend comes, I tend to sleep more than 8 hours. I think all my sleepless weekdays takes the toll on me on weekends. I have tried warm milk as well, but it does not work for me.

I sleep at 10 or 12 at night and I awake in 9 or 10 in the morning. I got here my technique on how to get sleep fast. My professor told me that instead of using cellphone or any gadget to get you to be sleepy will not work. He told me to read some novel books. Cause pictures and pixels and/or radiation from the gadgets takes 3-5 hours to be processed in the brain while texts is about only 2-5 minutes. I always do that, and at the morning I found my self buried in a book.

i im like this i cant sleep late at night eithier but my granny told me that taking naps during the day isnt gud for you because at night you cant sleep and i feel like crap when i get up in the morning if i dont get enough sleep hope this comment helps ya:)

I got enough sleep inside the hospital, because I obey rules and advices of my doctor. If i need to have 10 hours of sleep I really do it. If I need to rest than watching, I do it. When I was healthy before and working, i experience sleeping only two hours a day because I have other jobs besides my regular one. It affects my memory and my performance and I look tired eventhough I just came to a good bath. It is unhealthy. Incomplete sleeps results to stress. STress affects us all and deteriorate our health. I am recommended to sleep 8 hours a day.

I don't usually sleep for eight hours, but more than six or around six. If I could sleep that many hours, I won't feel sleepy during the day. Otherwise I will have to drink a lot of tea to keep awake for my work. Take care, friend.

I get by on 3-5 hours sleep most nights. I think if you are still finding yourself sleepy the next day then you are not getting enough sleep. I do sleep more at the weekend when I know I don't have to get up for work. I don't like milk either and I do not think that drinking it if you don't like it will help you sleep any better. Best thing that I do is think of all the good things I am looking forward to during the week and that encourages me to sleep so they are just a bit nearer. It might work for you, try it.
