I did not choose : I learned what I have learned first to be a good boy for my parents. I have prepared a PhD on international environmental laws in the 80's which has always been at 90% useless for me as I never intended to work as a lawyer : I have not written 5 articles in this domain in thirty years.

My parents are no more there. I go times to times in courts to defend associations, when I am a member and when they have no money to pay a lawyer, and my % of trials won is probably better than many professionals, because I take really the time needed to study the case.

I think it is very nice of you to do so, to help the people that don't have much money to defend themselves..

I have always been interested in Mathematics because I think it has a very strong foundation and is a great gateway to learning Computer Science. Ever since I was young I was interested in Computers so its natural for me to also be interested in Mathematics. I would choose a degree in this area only because I feel its actually the right place for me to be.

Yes, and in my country almost everyone has at least B.D and sometimes you even need to be a Master to enter to a good job..

I chose my course because I was interested at it. Where I come from, sometimes people who put you to school dictates what course you will take. i was fortunate that my parent didn't force me to take a course that I didnt like.
having interest in the course that you are taking will make the journey easier because you are eager to listen and understand the topics being discussed.

I agree with you, it is important to chose something you like, and it is good that your parents support you and don't what you to learn something they want..

I didn't do a degree even though my grades are good enough. I decided that i have enough of studies as i'm bored with it. Back then, i thought working is fun since i was working part time while studying. By the time i graduate from my A level, i entered the work force immediately as a full time. I have no regrets to giving up my chance for a degree because experience gained while working, is much valuable and worth it.

There is something in what you said, most of the time you must have experience to work in a place, and even sometimes Experience give you more knowledge that a degree.
I think i prefer studying than working :) i like learning new things, but study and working is hard..

Honestly speaking, it was just what is expected of me. My parents wanted me to be a teacher, and unluckily for me they were still very unbinding during the time I enrolled, I really wanted to be on the Marketing/Design Industry before but then they insisted and I kind of grew to love the course I took which is Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education major in Montessori Education, BEdECEd-MONTEd. Teaching also deals with creative designs and use of words to catch the interest of the students so I'm happy, though right now I'm trying to apply for a job different from my field to try if I'm really for teaching or not...

I came home from my trip around the world wanting to become a primary school teacher. I did an A level English Literature to study a National Curriculum subject and GCSE Maths. Then I was accepted at university to study my degree. I studied because I love English and Education. In those days students got a grant and they paid the course fees. I achieved what I wanted to do: be a primary school teacher. I think it is wise to have an idea about the future career after the degree.

It sound great i hope you like working with children and i hope they don't drive you crazy, it can be a hard job.. I may be a sport teacher at school i don't know yet, i taught some weeks at school and there were some good and nice days and some very annoying days.. But for sure you get a lot satisfaction when you work with kids and see them really learning :)

I chose computer science because it's the one thing I've always been able to do (and am interested in). These days, the subject isn't so important in most countries - the fact that you've done a degree is enough. To be honest, about 90% of what I learned was useless and outdated as soon as I'd finished but the degree itself shows reasonable intelligence, a willingness to learn and a capability to express ideas.

Hey there I have a Masters in Business Administration in the Medical Field. Did so because I knew it was the direction I wanted to work in and the area of interest. Money was an incentive but found that it was more a chosen field of my own.
