Flash drive, USB stick, Pen drive, USB drive, USB storage device, so many names!

They called ThumbDrives... hehehehehe you forget that. I think you have already mentioned the right calling technically speaking - " USB Storage devices" under the category of "Flash Memory". They built actually closes or as the same also as to Flash Memory Cards, SD Cards, Memory Sticks and so on depends on the brands and manufacturers. These devices are one of the most greatest invented in our generations. They killed those Floppies and soon the Optical Drives like CD, DVD, BR Disc and so on. You'll notice on Apple's MacBook Air and other same equivalent portable computers, they only have USB, no floppy drives or even optical drives.

All are correct in a way. It is a storage space that is connected through USB usb storage device. It includes a flash memory IC inside flash drive The ones about stick and pen, I do not know why they use those, I have never used those names. It has to do with the appearance of it, I guess.

The techies here in our country call it "flash drive" and some who were not yet familiar with its name calls them "USB". I have been often asked too on what is really the real name for the gadget. All of the names mentioned above are familiar with the general consumers but I kind of stick to the "flash drive" name.

In my opinion you can it Portable Mini Drive or Sticky thing according to the version of Date Night. hehehe

All of these names have different structures & there names are according to that. Make urself as u can say correct name for the correct type. Dont get grumbled in this. This amy be tricky but they are different.

hi, i think its more nice and unique if that will call just USB,because all of them are use to store data,maybe they only called them in different names because they have some differences in features.

I get your point and I agree. As far as I know the proper name is USB Hub. So, it's settled, lets all call it a USB Hub from now on.
