Yes The Telephone Discussion Again... L.O.L.

Yes it is about the telephones but this time I was thinking about pay phones and how you rarely ever see them any more and if you do have you noticed they seem to be all torn to pieces like someone probably got and slammed it down so hard that it broke and trying to steal all the quarters out of it? L.O.L. When is the last time you saw a pay phone? And if you did did you try to use it? And did it work? Or was it all tore up? L.O.L.

LOL, this is so true... However I work at Wal-Mart and they still have one in the front of the store.. I think this is the ONLY place I have still seen a unit still functioning. They use to have them at every gas station, now they are just empty spaces. :P

We still have a lot of public phones and they remain popular. But obviously they aren't as old as American phones, so much for the superpower! Ours are card operated, the cards only cost four Euros, and there is almost always a phone just where you buy the card! Not only are they convenient, but they are much cheaper than using mobile phones. I expect that they will be here for a long time to come.

We still see them in the movies. Obviously all the phones have been taken to Hollywood!

Well, I will admit seeing a Pay phone anywhere is almost a thing of the past due to the high volume of Cellphones, and when you do see one a lot of them are quite tore up for sure. Many of them have no Phonebooks, and you are lucky if the phone even works. I know when answering the phones for people needing Cabs at work, that there are times it is quite hard to hear them knowing they are on a pay phone. I cannot remember the last time I used one due to having my Cell phone for yrs. but would use one if I had too.

I don't remember the last time I used one either it has been years and when I do see one I have to look at it and laugh, but you know now you A re right most every one in this world has cell phones but remember when they didn't exist and all it costs us was 50cents to call some one? Or even a quarter? L.O.L.

There is a payphone right outside of the store that I work at. I've never used it but it seems to work most of the time. There have been times that someone has used it while arguing with their girlfriend and slammed it repeatedly as if that is going to accomplish anything other than breaking the phone. The phone company here is really good about coming down to make sure that it is in good condition and working properly.

it is a coincidence you should ask that question because just yesterday I was talking about pay phones to my nine year old daughter who claimed to have never seen one! I doubt she has never come across one in her short life but anyway I was telling her how they used to be everywhere and that one would usually not have the change required in an emergency if one needed to make a call! She asked about phones with a cord and was unsure how they are used, do you believe it?

Here in our province in the Philippines, i haven't seen any pay phone stands anymore, like we used to have before at some supermarkets. Though there are local stores, who offers their local phones to be used for a fee. At least, we can still call our landline phones through them in case we don't bring with us our cell phones.

When i was a child i can remember seeing payphones everywhere. Now if you are able to find one, it usually doesnt work or it is a place that is hard to get to or you can not hear very well. No wonder cell phones have become so popular. You don't have to put any coins in to have the operator disconnect you anyway.
