tithes and offering: always an issue!

many churches are still not open of giving their tithes and offering in their own respective churches. many sees it as an unnecessary action toward Christianity since all they know and want is receiving and receiving. others just think of it as "pastor's tricks" since they are the holder of church's treasuries.
but actually giving the tithes and offering are commands of God. it's not a request nor a plea but a a mere command that has bad consequence when not obeyed. Malachi 3:16 clearly stated that tithes are from God and giving an offering is a way of honoring the Lord. by not doing so, God accused them "theft-of-God's-treasures".
as Christians, we are required to give the tenth percent of our income to our own churches first is for Kingdom's Advancement and second id for you to be blessed. Our religion is not just always in "asking" and "taking" but also in "Giving"

A tithe and an offering is your willing contribution to your church. Nobody should tell you how much or how little to give. this has to come from your heart and your own satisfsction.

yes, i agree with you. Giving tithes and offerings is an obligation for us as Christians. if you really entrust your tithes to God, he will bless you a thousand folds. besides, everything that we have right now, our money and resources -- are from God. And we should give the the 10% or more of it. if we don't, it is like stealing the things that are not really ours.

I agree with the giving...but not giving a specific amount or percentage.
It is our prerogative how much we want to share or give and not a fixed 10%.

I believe that we should give but like what the first guy who replied said, there should not be a definite number involved.
Giving is that act of sharing what you can so this means that one should not be forced to give any percentage or number.
Religious topics are always hard. Everyone has a good point int their opinions and there is no right or wrong answer. It really depends on what you believe.
just my two cents

Malachi 3:16 is from the old testament and it is being followed by people who dwell in it. Specifically, the giving of 10% tithes. However, this is not any more the case in the new testament. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or UNDER COMPULSION, for God loves a cheerful giver." See, God loves a giver that is happy with what he gives. Now, protestant churches nowadays would insist on 10% tithing. Why? What for? The compulsory 10% tithing was already revised it to LOVE OFFERING when Christ came to this world. What is important for God is your whole hearted giving and not the specific amount that you give even if sometimes it is against your will. In other words, give what you can for the Lord will bless you more and not give what you cannot.
