Private Message asked for a Tag ?

Private Messages are just that, private, and no-one but yourself and the user you are PMing with can read the content.
When you have been here 4 years and never tagged any of your PMs, and not deleted many of them either, you will then realise the purpose of this option - like I did 
I have pages and pages of PMs, most with no tags, and it is difficult to find something that I wrote years ago which could be useful today.
If we tag our PMs with something useful then later, when we need to find one, we can insert that tag in the myLot search, highligh 'message' and it will appear.
If only I had realised a long time ago...

I like hora would not remember tags in pm due to so many exchanges. lol

Thanks ! I would not be able to remember even if I only had 3 tags in PM. Just ainta getn them tags :P

I asked that too . My Lot admin said tags are a way for people to keep track of their messages.

Now that you know, are you going to tag every message you exchange?
Just making a presence so the discussion doesn't get lost. Tags are not my thing to remember anything.

Hmmmm, I've noticed this too. Makes you wonder just who else is reading your private messages, huh? Why would it require a tag if no one else but your friend is to be reading the message. If you want to truly remain private, I would suggest that you resort to the email option.
I've also been trying to contact the myLot administration via the 'contact' link at the bottom of each page. Something or someone has apparently disabled this. I would hate to have to start a discussion just to contact administration about my problem. This is just weird.

Maybe this is what needs to be done ! I am new here and just seen where there was a tag or skip in the message box when I was sending a friend a message. Yes this is a problem. I didn't want everyone to read it. There is nothing bad in it, but it should be private . If I wanted every Tom ,violated word was removed, and Harry to read it then I would have made a Post of it. So you have to Hit SKIP in order to send the flippin' thing. This makes no sence to me what so ever. The more I try the more problems I find . I know that I am not alone in this matter. I know that I don't have to be somewhere else . Some may say if you don't like it then leave but I say I pay my bills here and will go where ever I want online. Administration needs to address this problem ASAP you are right!

Gotta make a retraction here. My contact message to administration finally went through. Perhaps it was a problem within my computer.
I forgot to say 'welcome to myLot', skeeter. This is a fine site. We all have occasional problems and using the contact link is a good idea. MyLot guidelines instruct us to take the problems to the administration via the contact link.

hi skeeter private means only we c an see our messages so I guess the tags are just something to sort out bu t I seldom use them at all.
I will not repeat Diana's response as she shows you how private does
mean nobody else can read our messages but us .
