Photo Album - conventional photo album

In the past, photos were kept in photo albums which we keep somewhere in the living room so that when visitors come, they could see those pictures in the album. I can't remember the last time I bought photo albums since most of my photos are in digital format. Most are saved in the computer while others are uploaded in image hosting sites, or both. The other pictures are in a flash disk and others are in memory cards so that we can use them for digital photo frames. Most of the people I know already do the same and has discarded already most of their conventional photo albums. How about you?

I still have a lot of photo albums. Although I don't anticipate every needing them again for more pictures, I like to have those pictures all together in one book. My mom, who has dementia, was looking at her photo albums when I came over the other day. She was having a good time looking at the pictures and thinking about the memories the pictures brought back.

Yes I do have plenty of conventional photo albums with me each one depicting one of the best moments in my life.My schooldays, university days, friends,my wedding, every step of my daughter's life who is 15 now.I think they are inseparable part of my life.Though I have digitized most of the photos and kept in cds nothing like taking an album at random and turning the pages caressing every moment that are the photos.

Hi dolce_vita! I don't buy conventional photo albums anymore because I just save the pictures in my computer but I still have my old conventional photo albums stored safely somewhere in my room. I love collecting pictures and it was my hobby to put them in photo albums before. But since the advent of digital cameras and film cameras got phased out, the number of pictures that can be taken become so numerous that it is not practical to print them all. So I stopped printing them and just saved them in my computer. I save some in dvds and cds and flash disks. It would be cool to put them in digital photo frames but that's too expensive for me. As for my conventional photo albums, I don't throw them away because they contain precious memories. Cheers.

The last time I bought an album was years ago. Although all my pictures now are in digital format, I still would want to put some in an album. That's a plan where I haven't put into action yet until now... However, when I have kids, I would still want to print some of their photos and put it in conventional albums . I think it's still to have something tangible. But just a few so that we won't have a lot of albums to stack .

I don't have any recent ones, but I still have some from when I was a child, and there was no way to store photos on line or on disk.

My old photos are still kept in the conventional photo album, but I have not used a new photo album ever since I had my own computer. I love to keep them in the computer. I am also trying to scan my old photos and upload them to my computer for me to keep. The computer helps us a lot in saving money from developing photos as before. Take care, dolce_vita.

Scrapbooking is HUGE here! While I am not a scrapper myself, I really can't imagine that photo albums will be discarded. I hope people are not actually throwing away their photos!

I still have a couple albums but I haven't put any new pictures in it in a long time. When I have company in September I will get one of them throw away cameras so I can take pictures and have them developed so I can add some new ones cause you never know when your computer crashes and you loose everything

It's so sad because most of our picture got destroyed during the 'Ondoy' flood. my mom and dad's wedding photos and our baby pictures were the ones we treasured most and all of them were damaged. both the actual pictures and the ones we scanned for safekeeping. But I am saving for a cricut machine and once i get it I'll start scrapbooking again So yah, I'll keep photo albums but not the conventional ones because they will be scrapbooks

We love to capture as they say it, moments that happen in our life. Happy moments like the birth of a child, the first time she got her teeth, her first steps, her baptism and the list goes on and on. We also capture the places where we have gone to, from our departure at the airport until we come back. We also document the civic works we have done, the seminars, trainings and conventions we have been through also also the recognitions that were given us. But not only the happy times do we capture. There were sad times and embarrassing moments too. All this were placed in an album, others in a scrapbook with all times captions and trimmings. They were considered the treasures of our family. However, one day a great flash swept our place and with it went the memories we could not capture again. Others were just carried by the water and others had gone beyond repair. We were so disappointed that we didn't go with the time and scanned the pictures, save it in a flash disk and memory cards or post it online. After that experience, we don't have our pictures printed anymore. Instead, we post it online to share with other members. The most important thing is, we backup our pictures now. For some that were given to us, we scan them and keep them safe.

Yes. My family still keeps those photo albums. Not everyone in my family is very computer-oriented so they choose to print the pictures and place them in the photo album instead. For the,, it is more convenient than trying to have pictures in the computer and get frustrated when they cannot see them. Also, the photo albums are great when I need a picture without the computer. Sometimes. the photo albums got passed around in reunions and more people are able to see them compared to a computer screen.

HI! :) Even our photos is in digital format I still look for a time where I can print it all out! I still prefer the conventional photo album. And yes, we still have a lot of it! :P Why I prefer conventional photo album is because when time past by and I grow old I can still look back to the memories I've done.. through the pictures in the album! :)

that's exactly what we do with all the albums we still have here at home and in our family's ancestral house.. look at old pictures and reminisce the past..

We still have serval of them keeping our old photos like those we took in early childhood. Every now & then, we take them out to review all those funny photos. The other day, there was some problem of my hard disc & I lost many images. That's one of the bad thing about digital photos.

I also have my conventional photo album. It is something that I can browse even without opening my PC or laptop. It is also nice to reminisce the memories through the album.

I still have one although not full yet. I am keeping my important pics at memory card and planning to print it for keepsake. I still rely in printed pics, you may deleted your digital pic but you can always look at printed pics. I still prefer that cause I don't post all my pics at the net .

Yes, of course I still have my conventional photo albums and I love them. Only some of them are scanned, I prefer to see them time to time on paper. However since there are digital cameras I do not have paper photos and I do not print them. So there is a straight line between the new and old photos:)

I still keep a conventional photo album in our home. It's nice to have them compiled without running through the photos in a computer monitor. Like in my parents' house, my father would run through the photo album and then it would be a start of a very fun conversation recalling old memories. Running through each photo takes us back to what the photo scene represents. It just add to the family bonding moments.
