Most children like simple foods, such as recognizable fruits and vegetables. Many like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in cookie cutter shapes, apple slices with peanut butter and raisins or "ants on a log" (peanut butter and raisin stuffed celery). Macaroni and cheese is a favorite.
Most children also enjoy preparing the food they eat, so they are invested in their meals.
Any macaroni shape can also be paired with tomato sauce and ground beef.
My grandbaby likes oatmeal, farina, and grits, as well as cold cereals. She also likes cinnamon toast with butter and cinnamon sugar (3 to 1 ratio of sugar to cinnamon).
Dried cranberries and raisins are favored on their own or in salads.
Scrambled eggs are also good and simple.

My son isn't a picky eater, although he's a bit young to be one, so perhaps he will become one. He does have preferences though and he likes to eat whatever we are eating.
I was told that it's normal for kids to be picky. The nurse actually said that it was a developmental stage and to try each food at least ten times because sometimes they just reject unfamiliar foods. She also said not to mix the disliked food into the favourite food because that could backfire and the child might not trust the favourite food again. I did find that after I offered my son avocado a few times, he became more used to it and now will demand it. Also, a few months ago he stopped liking peas. I just didn't offer peas for a few weeks and then started giving him a few (5-10) peas as soon as he sat down for lunch each day, while I was preparing the rest of his lunch. He ate them just because he was hungry and now he's just okay with them.

Its not uncommon for young children to be drinking a lot of milk. Milk is food too, and this is sometimes not considered. If you want your child to eat more solid food cut down on the milk and give him fruit juice instead. Be certain the child gets nutritious food, rather than sweets or candy.

I haven't had to prepare meals for picky eaters for a long time. Most kids like foods like pizza, spaghetti and sauce, macaroni and cheese and such. I would suggest pureeing vegetables into the sauces.
You can also use the internet to search for meal and food ideas for kids and adults who do not like most foods.

My kids always ate well pasta, french fries (I made them at home with good oil), grilled chicken wings and thighs eaten with their hands. They always had a couple of veggies they liked, not cooked but raw. Try grated carrot. They liked fruit too, but not all of them. You have to check which ones he likes.

I have a daughter who's 2 years old also. I too having a hard time feeding her because she decline whatever food we serve. You may want to try food with lot's of color or shape the food so she will enjoy finishing he plate. as for me I always make it a point she will eat with us eventhough a bit messy letting her eat all by herself. hope this helps a little
