Do you think Animals should be used for Research?

somtimes its sickening but the simple truth is they cant complain like we do. and id rather see some fluffy little bunny melt to the ground the some guy i bearly know

Probably the another question to ask is would you rather that they test it on humans. There are several life saving medicines out there that initially started with animal testing. If the initual formula is not right or have side-effects it needs to be adjusted and tested again. I know harming animals is not right , but i think in this case if harming an animal can help save a human the i would agree that animals be used.

I have a vegan diet and buy cruelty free products. My shoes are made from a material called lorica. I don't think it is morally right to use animals for research. I love animals a lot and feel they need protection. An animal usually reacts differently than a person does. Monkeys have been used in a horrible ways by some scientists. Mice, rats and rabbits have been tested on. I hate it that animals are used for scientific research. The human being should treat animals with kindness. One of my favorite quotes is "Treat others how you would like to be treated yourself". Some of the things happening around us are sick.

Plants and animals of the earth form the human food chain. Plants are on the bottom, animals part way up and humans are at the top.The food chain is God's plan for planet earth to survive and grow. Animals are below humans on the chain, and it only makes sense that when Humans no longer eat animals, then animals will no longer need to be in experiments. A place for everything, and everything in it's place!

Why not? Would it be better off if we go through town and test products to people? How would you feel if you know you're being used as a pawn in research?

No I don't think that animals should be used for research for various reasons. The biggest reason I don't think we should do testing on Animals is because it is inhumane and I don't support anything that I feel wrong or uneasy about. Also we definitely shouldn't be testing on a variety of different animals because it's going to give us different results adhering to such things as the overall safety of products that we ourselves may be using in the future. As far as testing goes though we should really only be testing on rats and no other animal should even be considered for doing testing on the deciphering of safety of products for human beings. Rats are the best subjects for human caliber testing because they have the closest Genome (genetic make-up) to humans. Since they have the closest genome the results coming off the testing of rats would yield the best and most relevant results of how a product will affect our species.

I can accept using animals, when there is legitimate research being done that is likely to help people. Hopefully those who do such things do not become too casual, but they probably do. My recommendation is that we use democrats, instead of animals. There will be a bunch of them looking for jobs in November 2012.

Hello! For any animal lover, use of animals for research is humiliating. But on other side with new diseases emerging up every other day, science to keep up pace with such problems, has to carry on with advanced researches. For research purposes who else but poor animals have to become scape-goats.

For me yes but if the topic is about the animals if not then not at all to use.
