Missing and Dead

Many tornadoes hit the state I live in (Oklahoma), and got my nearby area as well. Because of what happened in Joplin we were warned by forecasters in our area to expect tornadoes. Before we even had a Tornado Watch, we were told to review our saftey precautions. Schools canceled graduations, and businesses closed early. And indeed those tornadoes came. Ten people so far are confirmed dead, and there is one family in particular I want to mention. They need prayer.
A pregnant mother and her three children took cover (the father was out of town on business). When it was over the five year old girl was in critical condition, the 15 month your old son was in critical condition, the pregnant mother was in critical condition, and the three year old was missing. Yes, MISSING! They can't find him for anything. They are searching a nearby lake to see if the tornado flung him there, and they are searching the rubble nearby. Tragically, the 15 month year old boy died. The pregnant mother, while still in ICU, did not lose her unborn baby. But the five year old is still in ICU as well. The father has rushed back to be with his family.
People, can you imagine losing two of your children in one fell swoop? One boy already dead, and the second missing and presumed dead? Please pray they will find the missing boy and that by some miracle he will be alive. Pray also for the mother and daughter. They aren't out of the woods. That poor father. I imagine he is devastated for not being there with them when it happened, even though he couldn't have known when he left what would have happened.

The family will need to have continued prayers. There was some damage about four blocks from my brother. The parsonage does not have a cellar or basement, but the house they have bought in the country does, so that is where they went.

They found the three year old deceased in the nearby lake. The mother and unborn baby are in fair condition. The five year old girl is still in ICU. This poor family. Half of their kids are gone if you can't the unborn child still alive (and I do).

My thoughts and prayers go out to them and everyone involved. This is so tragic. These tornadoes are so out of control. I am glad you were ok. I cannot imagine how all of the affected families are coping. It is so unreal. We are supposed to have severe storms tonight and tomorrow.

Oh no Ambie, I can't even imagine what this family is going through..I will pray this 3 y/o to be found safe and that the mother and other child come through this ordeal..
Though we haven't had a tornado come through here, (even though my nephew said one did, it was never proven) we have had close calls and the siren went off last night, scaring my son again..

I'm updating everyone who commented about the little boy. The found the three year old boy deceased in a nearby lake. The pregnant mother is now in fair condition, but the 5 year old little girl is still in critical condition. Let's pray that mother and father don't lose more than the two children already gone.

It is awful when a disaster happens. It just goes to show that you can't ever take life for granted. You have to live every day as if it's your last, it might be - you just never know.

I live in Saint Louis, and you better believe when the news of what happened in Joplin reached Saint Louis; we knew that it was time for us to rethink our safety precaution and think about "just what if that was us". Personally I wouldn't know what to do if that was me. My nerves are already shot because of this ongoing severe weather pattern, and the one we had last month shortly before my birthday.
Anyway, my heart and prayers go out to those Joplin Tornado victims and plenty of others who were affected.

Everything here in Saint Louis and the Midwest is fine for now. The storms we had are now headed towards the East Coast. We won't be out of this severe weather pattern until mid June.

As I watch the news about these tornado stories my heart breaks for all the victims. The tornadoes just keep coming. That and the floods are just so devastating. I just say on the news that the little boy has been found. Ryan Hamil's body was found Thursday morning along the shore in Lake Falcon, near the boy's home in Piedmont. This is so sad as well as are the others still missing from Joplin, Mo

That is terrible. We had those storms in our area also along with tornadoes too that claimed lives. I pray that everything works out for the family and the ones still living, are able to recooperate. I am so sorry for the 3 year old and the 15 month old. I hope the family is able to get past it.

I feel sorry for the father and the family who became a victim. I will include to my prayers that the boy is alive and he will be found. I really wish he survive and the daughter and the mother too. Who can save their lives in this kind of disaster. If you able to hide yourself then that is good, but still it is frightening.

Omg, I can't imagine how the father must feel! Although it wasn't any of his doing, still, the conscience can do horrible things with our minds. Poor mom and their little girl and the one son that's still missing. The one that has passed is in a much better place and he's very happy with no pain or sorrow but his poor parents are just grieving something normal but very awful! How sad!! I hope they find the one that's still missing and that he's alive and not badly injured if at all.

My goodness what a sad story! I will certainly pray for the missing boy and his family. I cannot even begin to imagine what it would feel like to lose a child, let alone two! It doesn’t get much worse does it? This poor man is returning to complete devastation of his town and life and my heart breaks for them all including all the other families involved in this disaster. No point asking why I guess because we will never know.

Oh my this makes me sad and cry.. I was thinking of my children's safety just this morning as we were about to leave for work, heavy rains fell because of the typhoon that is here in our country and it was so heavy that we really cannot see anything visible outside and i was thinking how safe are my children when i leave them when i go to work? it will be just the three of them, 6,4 and 1 year old with their nanny. The nanny is responsible but i do not know if she can handle the three kids when we leave. So we decided to leave them over at mother's house. We, me and hubby dropped them over at my mother to stay while we are at work today. The rain is so heavy and i could not imagine how it is on the other parts of the country where signal no. 2 and 3 is declared.
I could not imagine the pain of that father right now, the pain that he just lost his children in just like that. I myself could not imagine without my children. I am praying for him and his family that they will soon see light in all of these.

We have been watching and reading about all of the loss of lives and property devastation over in that area. It all truly saddens us. Here in my area, we got the storm system with a few tornadoes, severe straight-line winds, lightning and sheets of rain this past night. My storm door has been blown off the hinges. I went to my neighbors as I knew she was frightened. We did not have to hit the bathtub though. But the damages in this area are nothing compared to those in Oklahoma and Missouri. Prayers going out to this family and all of the others who have been so terribly impacted. I don't think it's all over yet. We still have weeks to go in this tornado season.

I heard about what happened in your place. In the news, I saw how devastated your place is because of the tornado. I just wish that, as much as the family that you've made mentioned will be safe, you and your family too will be safe also. We'll be praying. Just pray hard and I'm pretty sure that God's hearing your prayers.

so sorry to hear that.sincerely hope they can find their poor kid safe and support each other to get through this and move on.we will always pray for you.
there've been more and more disasters these years, which have reduced so many families to falling apart, little children to saying goodbye to the beautiful world without even having a chance to enjoy the beauty at all.just in my homeland China,i've seen too many disasters around me these years.what i learn from this is that we have to treasure every moment in our life and try to move on even after terrible experiences that we used to think we can never recover from.onced we are live, there will always be hope.
