Social Networking sites. . . . . .To be trusted or NOT !!!!

So, here I am with my first discussion on myLot and its the hottest topic discussed in my class. . . . .CAN SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES BE TRUSTED???
Yesterday before I went to bed, I thought about social networking sited for a looooong time. Well, if you are a genuine account holder on a social networking site then, privacy matters the most. But more than privacy and the sites be trusted. I am a facebook adict and I have all my genuine details on my fb account. Can I trust the social networking site??? Did you ever think about it?? Is it important to think about it???
What do you guyz have to say about it?? Im con fused :s

every person i know online has his own fb account and they are there for a lot of reasons. me too had my own account in fb and i trust the admin for not abusing it. the risk in having a social networking account is that they might be using your personal info against you or worst your pictures would be scammed.better avoid posting pics revealing your intimate body parts so you wouldn't be virtually abused.

Thats why I pity those who put so much information on facebook
They dont have any privacy anymore, and thus make them so predictable until it is impossible to respect them
