Foods aside from the nutrients we gain from it which gives us enery for our daily life it also gives us the enrgy to face life. Had it occur to you that when you are feeling low or when you are upset you experience this craving for a certain type of food? When I'm really upset I sulked and I eat something sweet; I really crave for something sweet and when I indulge on it I feel much better. Sometimes I crave for my mom's spaghetti when I feel really really low and I don't feel talking about it. How about you? Do you have any comfort food?

Sometimes you just have to give in and have some comfort food. It is a surprisingly effective stress reliever, don't you think? As a matter of fact, I just started a discussion about how I am actually craving my comfort food - homemade potato salad!
I usually crave chocolate or something sweet like that but today it is for something savory and salty. That potato salad.
So, you have any of your mom's spaghetti this past week?
I am off to buy the ingredients for my yummy homemade potato salad (my mom's family recipe).
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

When I am feeling down, I always have a craving for chocolate, mostly milk chocolate. It can be any type of chocolate; a candy bar, truffles, and or ice cream (only Haagen-Daz). I really can't understand why someone when they are really down because they've gone through a rough breakup or got into a fight with someone, would automatically turn to sweets. Maybe that's the way it is. But, I know after I snap out of it, my heart will ache because of the pounds that I had gained.

That's true. What's your comfort food? Cause I need something else I'm kind of getting tired of Haagen Daz

I'm a bit of an emotional eater. I eat a lot of french fries or chocolate when I'm not happy, and I'm generally better after I eat. I've been working on switching that out with healthier food or just drinking water, because I had some major issues with depression and ended up gaining quite a bit of weight.

Comfort food...I do have and I know its not a healthy food. When I'm really stress at work I always crave for French Fries, some of my officemate knew this already that they sometimes buy me one. They don't want to see me sad and tried, and of course stress. There are times that I crave for ice cream...like now =) even if the weather now here in the Philippines is raining I still looking forward to eat some ice cream. Chocolates and chips are my other comfort foods, they're a lot but those food really makes me feel alright =) happy eating! =D

Some food is called comfort food for a reason, you see, since it gives us comfort to eat it. I have friends who have 'comforted' themselves all the way up to 300#. Really a bad habit to depend upon food to give comfort. Now I'm not saying that I haven't done this myself, but I do try to keep it to a minimum. Lately, I've been baking sweets more than previously and I've had to look at the reasons I'm doing this. I'll have to substitute the sweets for a different activity since I can't be going out and buying a new wardrobe.

It depends a lot on many things. But I often feel depressed in Winter and a good soup helps me get out of the bad mood.

I do! And it depends on my mood as well. Most of the time, I go for chocolates, especially Cadbury! At other times, I also crave for chips. Sigh. All of them sinful foods .

Not really a particular food, but when I'm depress I usually cook my favorite meals to console myself and to have appetite back.
