Went fishing we go to my husbands mom's pond to fish it is stocked with a lot of cat fish, yummy stuff. I caught 3 one was pretty small so it was thrown back. My husband caught 2 pretty big ones they were about 10lbs. We went to a friends house and cooked left him half of what we had then brought the rest home for dinner tonight. I used to not be able to put a worm on my hook but have learned how. But still haven't gotten the courage to take a cat fish off the hook those stingers they have can hurt. So have you been fishing yet? What kinds of fish do you love to eat? Do you bait your own hook? Can you take a cat fish off the hook?

Hi Asliah. It had been the last two years that I got to go fishing. Before that I hadn't been since I was about 25 years old. I love fishing it gives me time to myself and my own thoughts.

I haven't been fishing in a long time..but have always loved it. Up here we have bullheads and I wouldn't take them off the hook either....those stinger do just what they are supposed to do...sting! I do like a bullhead when it's cooked right....caught in the spring before they head down to the bottom of the lake and get muddy tasting.

Hi Jillhill. I love it we go every year and it is so cool. I haven't had bullhead in ages. I don't like the muddy taste either. I like mine fried till it is crispy and brown.

I have not been fishing in many years since I was a younger child. I went fishing with my uncle, my aunt's husband one time. I have enjoyed fishing. I believed that I caught a fish too at that time. I love catfish, they are my favorite type of fish to eat. They are so delicious! When my aunt used to go fishing with her husband, she used to catch so many fishes and we would eat them for dinner. I don't think that I can bait my own hook or take a cat fish off of the hook. I haven't gone fishing in so long until I don't know if I can do this or not.

Hi! I used to like fishing a lot, I almost went to fishing everyday during my childhood and cat fish is mostly get hoodked everytime. It is not easy to take off the cat fish off the hook with your bare hand, you should use a player to take off the hood from the cat fish mouth to avoid being injured by the stinger. I was hurt a few time before by cat fish's stinger and that was really painful. But I still find that fishing is the most enjoyable spot and the most excited moment is when a fish got hooked.

Hi Yspmy. My husband puts his hand on one of the stingers while he is pulling the hook out of the fishes mouth. He told me that if the stinger stung you it would hurt. I just plain don't want to take the the chance.....LOL I thought about pulling one of the stingers off but then I thought that might hurt the poor fish.....LOL I am damned if I do and damned if I don't.....LOL

I don't know how to fish using hook and line. But I would love to learn. Sounds like you really had fun fishing. I also like to eat catfish but I only buy it from the supermarket. In my place, you can buy live catfish at the market. I'm not an expert in cleaning a fish so I have them gutted and washed at the supermarket.

Hi Watergirl and welcome to my lot. I love fishing it is a fun thing to me. I like standing there on the bank and having time to think my own thoughts. While watching the bobber go down knowing as long as I jerk the line a little I might catch the fish trying to steal my worm off my hook.....LOL It is fun you should try it. I haven't got the gutting of a catfish either but any other kind of fish I am sure I could and have done.

I do not fish, but I eat fish. Catfish is good, so is about every other kind. I do not like to bait hooks or clean fish, so I just cook and eat fish.

Hi GG. I love to fish. Until last year I hadn't been used to putting worms on the hook but now it don't bother me at all. I even look for the worms when I am digging up a flower bed. I don't mind baiting the hook or cleaning them either but catfish has stingers and I am leary of of the stingers. But sooner or later I will learn to do that too. I love fish no matter what kind it is either. I don't really care to cook it my husband cooks it better.

I love to fish. With the Mississippi in flood, the fresh water fishing has been delayed around these parts of the country for people like me. It's going to mess up the whole spawning season. We don't know where the fish are going to be. I lived in the Kentucky Lake area a long time ago and would go fishing every day. That has now flooded too.

Hi Yoyo. too bad that the flooding has caused you not to be able to fish. I hate that. If it wasn't for mom having a pond we would have to go somewhere else to fish. It is fun to fish. Thanks for sharing. Hope the flooding goes away soon so you can go fishing too.

Wow, fishing! I haven't tried that yet so I don't know how to bait and I'm not even sure if I'll catch some when I go fish . Wait, let me include it in my to do list now . Seems you had fun. It's nice to be able to catch some fish for your meals. Saves a trip on the supermarket while having fun catching them. Oh, my favorite is mil fish.

I used to go fishing when I was young, and 4 or 5 years ago before I had my orange grove I would like to go netfishing. But I've never caught a big fish,so I don't like fishing. Some of my colleagues love fishing, and they are really good at fishing. I love eating cat fish, especially black cat fish, and now they are very expensive. Of course I baited the hook by myself when I went fishing. But it's a little difficult to get a cat fish off the hook,it will hurt your hands whth its "knives",hehe.

I haven't been fishing in years but when I did go I did bait my own hook. I just don't like the thought of harming an animal so fishing really isn't for me.

Hi Jessi_T. It bothers me too but I love to fish. It is a peace time for me with my own thoughts. I wouldn't go hunting and kill deer or something like that but I do love eating fish and catching them is part of the fun.
