I Encourage All New Lotters To Put A Picture

You are right and I agree with you. It is very boring for the Mylotters to use the default avatar because others won't have an impression to you. A good avatar will make people to know more about you and then you will get more responses. I love China

My profile already has my own picture on it.lol.I think its more interesting to see somesones face or something they might like.It does tell a little about your self or your likes...

Well, I have seen members that have been here for a long time, and quite active who have had no picture, or are changing theirs all the time, but easy to identify with. The picture on my profile is really me, and was taken over 5 yrs. ago. I guess I should take time to update it as I have on Facebook, but this is what I am known by here, so that is why I leave it.

Hi Jameygc, Yes avatars get a beauty to our user name and easy to identify by others. But honestly i did have problem in finding out how to add avatar. So I guess if that is one reason new users did not put one. But I wish everyone have a avatar that represents best of themselves. I am nature liker, so that represents my avatar.

Hello Dear Jameygc! I appreciate your views about the Profile picture which i generally referred as Avatar! It is always good to have one's own Avatar as it gives an identity to the individual! There may be few names which are so similar that one may get confused without the Avatar! One can upload few Avatars on experimental basis before settling for one with which one gets satisfied finally! There are many people on this site who are keeping on changing their Avatar, but at the same time they are have some pattern which makes them recognised. If you watch carefully you can identify them as most of them are very active on this site! Similarly the Avatars can be animated ones also, for that you may need to take care of the frame size of your animated Avatar! Animated Avatars are attractive to look at! We have got some very nice animated Avatars on this forum which are hard to forget! Since one of the senior member, Hardworkinggurl, already has provided the link , how to upload a Avatar , Now I too appeal all the new Mylotters to upload their Avatar to make this forum a colorful one! Thanks !

I think several of the members just don't know how to add an avatar. Hopefully, HWG's link will help. Then there are the ones who are here only to make money and have no interest in socializing so they see no need of a photo. They won't stay long anyway, after they find that this is not a get-rich-quick site.

I agree with this post. Yes, it is good to talk or have a conversation online with someone you can imagine who is he/she. That's why, having a picture in your profile is very important.. So, the readers or poster have an idea who we are talking too.

Sure would be nice as so many have similar names and at times it gets confusing who is who and if I am responding the same member. Though I am pretty good at remembering ID's it sort helps to identify someone at first glance. Although I must say some do not know how to do it as myLot does not offer a step by step guide as to where to start in terms of putting the picture. As good as your words, your profile pic does look magical! By the way, the first thing I did on mylot even before replying to a post or starting a decision, I added a profile picture. As a member of a lot of social networking websites, I find it hard to go without a profile picture ! And also as you said, it does help in identifying people easily. Cheers !

Hi Jamey, I do have up a profile pic. It's my six babies. =) but I know I change it occasionally I've never been comfortable with my own looks and would never put up a pic of myself without altering it first.

I agree with you, especially in photography discussion board, I don't know why some of them have many comments about taking nice photograph yet never upload a single profile picture. or maybe they don't know how to upload picture yet?

Yes, it's true. It's actually confusing seeing identical photos/icons of users. I, myself is a newbie here, but I'm doing my best to at least customize my profile. Two thumbs up to you! ^_^

I agree with you jameygc. At least a picture of anything as your avatar , more or less could be easily identified with your user name. A unique avatar could make you be easily remembered by mylotters who always respond to your discussions.
