I am and it´s awesome to read everyday new recipes. Sometimes I only read the titles, other times I look at the pictures (today there was a wonderful rice with pineapple among other ingredients in one of them).
They teach me things when and if I want to.
Are you subscribed at any of such sites? Do you read them or just browse them? Do they help you plan or make your meals? Share

Hi marguicha
Yes I get lots of recipe and health newsletters and have made a few desserts and have gotten some recipe ideas from them. I do enjoy browsing through all of them as I am one who likes to be creative and do like to see what is new and different.
I actually also forward some of them to my boyfriends mom who likes to experiment quite a bit and says when go down in August she is making some of them for me.

Hi Marguicha,
I love to cook and like you I am subscribed to a few online sites that shares recipes. At times, I try to cook recipes that they feature, that is if I have the ingredients in stock although I am not a person who always follows recipes to the letter. Otherwise, I'll just download the recipe to add to my collection and cook it some time later. Of course there are a lot of recipes that call for ingredients that our country imports and therefore these are expensive. Sometimes, I try to substitute an ingredient or two but most times, I'd rather not. So mostly, I only choose those recipes with ingredients we can easily find here.
I also use pineapple in a number of dishes I cook because it gives a different flavour or tanginess in any dish. For most Asians, our meals usually comprise rice and we cook rice in a lot of different ways. Even fried rice have different variations, but what I love the best is Yang chow with crushed pineapple served with meat toppings.

Please share your Yang chow. I don´t follow recipes to the letter either but use what´s on my pantry. But it does inspire me.

Hi Marguicha,
I couldn't find this Yang chow recipe anywhere here in the net so I made my own version based on what I usually order in my favorite Chinese restaurant here. My version is not the exact same recipe but there is not much difference in taste. My family loved my recipe though so we don't frequent that authentic Chinese restaurant these days. If you are interested in my recipe, I'll share it with you, the only thing is that I still need to put it down in a word document. Just give me your word and I will send it through private message to you.
Thanks for acknowledging my response. Have a nice day!

I don't subscribe, but I will look up a recipe if I need something for the ingredients I have...
like the day the roomie's nephew was over and wanted Chinese food, we didn't have money to eat out, but we had food, and after running over and getting a bottle of soy sauce, we made our own (and it was YUMMY!!!)
AND it was corn starch free!!!

I get several recipe newsletters. And today I got the one with the pineapple/rice one. I don't fancy much with pineapple in it but I did find another recipe in that same newsletter that I found interesting.....the one about making the Indian okra sidedish. I love okra anything and will probably be making it when the farmer's market has some fresh okra. I save a lot of the recipes and use them at least once.

No I'm not. But I do look at sites sometimes, the picture of the dishes always look mouth watering
I'm a really bad cook and can't follow the step by step thingy. I mean even if I do exactly as written, the outcome never is the same . I wish I could cok better than I do right now but sadly yeah lol

It is easy, if you start with easy dishes. Learn how to make a beaufiful and yummy salad and a gorgeous fruit desert. That is similar as learning to paint (it´s all about colors). Then learn an easy main dish and there you are

Yeah I had subscribed to Talra Dalal. But I hardly get any time to cook. So it is of no use to me.
