Why I hate Florida

My family and I just moved from Florida to North Carolina last year and let me tell you I do not miss Florida one single bit. Both my wife and and Step-Daughter are from Florida and I am from California but I feel so at home here. My wife loves North Carolina as well. Of course my Teen-aged daughter is having a little bit of a hard time with the move. So to get to my point, we went on a trip back to Florida last week since it was my Step-Son's Birthday who passed away in 2009. We had a celebration in his memory. Now let me tell you what happened on this trip:
A day after getting there we met up with my "In-Laws" at our timeshare. I used my Father In-Law's car to go to the store and did not even get a block away from where we were staying and I got pulled over! The guy pulled me over and told me that I have been driving without my lights on. He then told me that everyone passing by was signaling me to turn my lights on but I was the only person on the street at the time. After talking for a few mins he then tells me that I am still driving without my lights on. First of all is he running next to the van as he is writing the ticket as I am "Still Driving"? Second of all he was rude about it as if I was giving him a hard time and I was not. All I told him that I was there visiting and it was my Father In-Law's van and thought that the lights came on automatically like every other new car or van these days. I also told him that since the lights came on inside I assumed that they were on outside. So I manually turned on the lights and as I did he asked me if I knew how to work the van now. What a JERK!! That was all for that situation but there was another. I went to the registration office to get the title for my van that I moved from Florida to North Carolina. I gave her my Credit Card to pay for the title that I thought would only be a few dollars. When she told me that is was over $100 I said wow that is a lot of money and started discusing it with my wife. As I started talking to my wife about it she THREW the card back at me!! What the ..........??? There were more situations like that but I am at work and cannot get into more detail at this time.
Does anyone else hate Florida like I do? What are some of the experiences that you have had to make you hate Florida other that stupid drivers that do not obey the traffic laws?

Lol! I think you just had a bad in Florida! I still can't get over the guy running beside the fan! LoL! Where did this happen? I've lived in Fort Walton Beach, FL for the past 16 years and like it. You should consider getting a time-share in Destin. I promise, no one will chase you down. LOL!
Where are you from in California? I lived in Monterey for 2 years back when Clint Eastwood was the mayor of Carmel and the neighbors used to complain about his big and loud helicopter.
Cheers,
Stan

I grew up in Long Beach Calif. People are not exactly the most friendly there either but it is not NEARLY as bad as Florida. I actually really miss Long Beach but I would not move back there since I have fallen in LOVE with Raleigh North Carolina!! It is wonderful here, and the people are so friendly! I feel more at home here and I have only lived here for 9 months! I lived in Florida for 5 years and hated every day that I was there!!

I have not been to Florida, except to pass through, about eighteen years ago. I do know that everywhere they are pulling people over for the smallest excuse. I hate that and I feel persecuted, even if we only get a warning. I am amazed at the cost to replace a title and how rude the clerk was. I wonder if it is just that part of Florida where everyone is rude. I want to welcome you to Mylot and I hope you have a great time being a part of this terrific community. .
