Is being happy is all about happenings around us?

We normally say we are happy when something pleasing happens in our life. So, being happy always depends on our surrounding elements. Does that mean we need to stimulate our immediate environment to stay happy?

For you to be always happy you have to have simple wants and needs. You have to be contented with what you have. By being that, any simple things that you receive will already make you happy, because sadness stems from wishing things and not having them.

Yes that is right. Yet, when we talk about hope, hope is all about moving determinedly toward something we want to possess. And on the way disappointments (read happenings) are the lot.

I think that stimulating our environment can help contribute to our happiness. The people around us and the things that are in our life does affect our happiness. I also feel that we have to strive to be happy even when outside factors affect us. It can be difficult to do but I think it's very important. We can't always change what is going on around us but if we can be happy dispite what may be happening around us we will do better. We live in an ugly world and we can't completely change that but we can decide to be happy and do what we can.
