I do not believe in the Bible as a literal account. I believe that it is metaphorical story. I believe that heaven and hell are not actual places to go, but rather states of consciousness.
I believe that it does depend on your relationship with God, but I do not believe that god is a person in the sky. I believe that "god" is the collective conscious that is all things, what things really, truly are, beyond the physical world.
So, to experience that heavenly state of consciousness, we need to have a close relationship with ourselves. We need to see past the ego and recognize what we really truly are. Some would call it the soul.
I believe that "heaven" is reached through inner-peace, or more accurately is inner-peace. Hell, then, is inner-conflict.

Bible definitely is not a literal account on any count. But it is neither metaphorical altogether. Rather it is the faith reflection of a community that hold on to its faith in a Creator God and His enduring presence with them. Our faith need not be fashioned by just a subjective consciousness but there is lot more to derive from the faith reflections of the Bible. This is my opinion.

@ariana01 I don't believe it's Christian or New Age. I am definitely not a Christian by any means and the stuff I believe isn't anything new.
@scribe08 You believe that the Bible is neither literal nor metaphorical. I'm pretty sure it's gotta be one of them. Those things either happened or they are symbolic.
I never said that your faith needed to be fashioned by a subjective consciousness. I didn't speak of your faith at all. I said that I believe that heaven and hell are states of consciousness. That has nothing to do with faith.
I'm not denouncing god. I just have a different take on what exactly god is.

HEY! People have other religions too! You can't simply ask them to leave their religions right? If the religion is good then It's ok for them to stay?

Well it is not that easy that we think going fo heaven. It needs the fruits of spirits apart from that also our personal relationship with Jesus plays a vital role. There are lot testimonies and examples around us which shows that many people after accepting Jesuz in their lifes have been fallen trap in devils plan. Devil is knowing that the rapture is coming soon and he wants more and more souls in hell to torment so we need to have gods glory as well as protection to start building relationship with jesus. In this way we might be able to go to heaven.

In my belief, all of the religions are directing us to the same direction.
Maybe all of the religions are belonging to the same God.
My late teacher who was a Christian reminded me for not criticizing other religions because those religions might be the same as your religion.
Recently, I read a book about the taught of Buddha. I were told the same too.
We must do all of the good deed in order to be at the heaven.
In fact, the heaven and hell is just around us.
If we are doing most of the good deeds, to have a friendly, helpful, peaceful and joyful life for ourselves and the people around us, then you are already stepping forward to the heaven.
If we are doing most of the bad things, hurting the people around us, our living now is worse than the hell.
For me, I totally agreed to it.

nothing. for there is no heaven that you will go to once you die. Its all a lie to keep the followers of a church under theri control. remember love should be unconditional, so why will there be a condition that if you do good you go to heaven and if you dont follow their rules you go to hell. and above this teachings they preach unconditional love? why i dont see the connection? XD

That is not a connection. In the bible it says that as long as you accept christ you will go to heaven. It does not have to do with deeds. Although when Jesus comes into your heart you start to act differently and so you have good deeds. So they try to lead you to doing good deeds but that's just so it will be easier to be closer to God and have a relationship with Him and Jesus.

Actually, Many people have their own opinions! Some believe this, some believe that. And do you think everything in the bible is true? And What would make you believe in GOD? And I think All the religion not including new religion(made up around the 20th century) are some alien worship blah something like that. Maybe Jesus is Half-Alien Half-man! Who knows? link http://lithiumdreamer.tripod.com/annunciation.jpg , http://lithiumdreamer.tripod.com/madona2.jpg . Well...weird theories right? The world need to do more research on it. Check out this video http://youtu.be/zFVEKrvl_1w . It might mean something to you! :D

Those pictures are beautiful. There has always been a lot of different religious theories concerning aliens and I really think that there is something there. Not that god is an alien or anything like that, but that we have been visited before by alien lifeforms, and perhaps that we are all actually pilgrims from another, or maybe several distant planets.

That's about it, you have to let Jesus in your heart in order for you to be let i Heaven. Having a good relationship with Jesus is kinda hard because there are a lot of sins you can commit pretty easily. Although, they say, after committing to Him, they all come out pretty easy.

Irrespective of religious differences, almost all religions bring out this positive correlation between the good deeds and eternal benefits. I think it is human nature to derive personal fulfillment by involving in noble deeds and eventually that will ensure a future life.
