HI gebbesse well mylot Guidelines say that the post should be of quality and should explain our views to others and for the quantity part posting one liners don't help one liners post here would earn you nothing but if you have a good discussion even in that you can earn like if you comment back when you get reply try to post at least 3 to 5 lines with your views to other don't just post yes or no or thank you for your reply all this think never help the longer the discussion the better :-) like in this discussion you are not earning anything for starting a topic where you yourself is not taking part in it

I don't know how we are supposed to get it across that myLot is for discussions and not for questions and answers. Some just don't understand... or don't read the advice posted in their topics

Hi there and welcome to myLot. No where in the guidelines nor FAQ does it say quantity, it simply says quality. Therefore things like thanks for the response though short is not quality and not allowed. Did you know that when you create discussions and we respond we are the only ones earning. Well it is true, and unless you comment back you will not earn. Just thought I let you know as many come here thinking that if they start discussions the more responses the more they earn. Wrong there, as our quality responses is what earns us and your quality comment is what will earn you. As for your topic I am a long type responder but only because I always enter discussions of interest and have lots to say. I have created a very small responses too and although none of us know how earnings is calculated, we should not speculate as to whether they earn or not as it is not listed anywhere on the site which is best. Furthering discussions also earns as keep in mind myLot is about discussing and participation therefore anything you participate with, providing it is withing the guidelines earns. Welcome aboard.

I really don't know anymore. I have always written quite long, meaningful and quality replies, but my earnings do not seem to add as they should. I suspect there is more than long or short replies into this, but I have yet to find out what that is. For now, I keep replying as I find it suitable, and we will see in the future. Have a nice day!

Indeed there is a lot more to it than long or short responses MyLot is a DISCUSSION site and it is discussing, which means commenting and furthering the topic, which earns because when we do that we are doing what myLot was created for. If we are going to spend our time counting posts, counting lines and whatever else then we will not be eanings hardly anything at all. If a short response is relevant to the topic then it is more worthy than a long one which just rambles on and but contains noting at all to add to the discussion.

Long and relevant but i personally don't think you'll earn much more if you write like 2 pages or a few lines. It's just not a good idea to just say something like "great discussion" But if you write one comment you'll get say 1c, if you write 5 you'll get 3c and if you'll write 25 you won't get 30c but maybe 8c. But it is basically the more you contribute the more you earn principal. Also writing several days in a row should increase earnings.

Long, deep and meaningful! The guidelines say quality which is NOT a one line answer. Generally four or five lines should be considered a minimal response. Too long just bores the readers, so you must make your own judgement according to the circumstances.

If you are here only for making big and quick cash, then I have to disappoint you that MyLot is not that kind of site. Here you are payed for participating in the forum, and to adding "quality" responses and discussion (quite different from the average forum). Often, short answers are considered offensive or inappropriate, and you may not get anything for it, while longer ones get more attention. By longer I don't mean just meaningless words to fill space, but actually somethings that adds something to the topic. I prefer moderate answers, not single sentences, but not looooong speeches, unless I really have something that long to say. One more tip, don't even think in asking or saying anything about earnings and how much you are paid. The mods and admins will be upset if you try to uncover their top-secret earnings algorithm.

Based on my experience, long quality responses earn more. I also earn a lot from responding to the responses in discussions that I've started. I suggest you make it a point to respond with at least 5 sentences and make it really good responses. I hate it when people respond to my dicussions with one liners. And to think I really put much thought to discussions that I start so that people who respond can say a lot and therefore, earn more.

Personally i think it is better to find the middleground between quantity of responses and quality of responses. One line answers won't earn you much if anything the consensus amongst people on my lot is that 4 to 5 lines is the minimum for a decent quality answer so i try to make as many posts as possible that are around 4 to 5 lines.

I don't really partake in MyLot for the money, so I usually just respond to discussions that are related to my interests. Normally I do my best to answer every aspect of the question in the discussion or put as many of my views across as possible. I would say that it's better to write long responses as MyLot does pay on quality, plus if you're only writing a one line response, does that help the author of the dicussion? It's almost like you aren't interested at all and just respond because you might get 1 cent or something. Seems ridiculous to me.

It is best to write enough to get your point of view across and be well understood. If you just go around writing short responses to everything then you are actually missing the point of mylot. As a community we are here to share with each other and to help each other while at the same time helping us. If you are flying through with meaningless thoughts you aren't being very helpful. If you mean payment wise, mylot pays for quality, so short responses obviously wouldn't earn as much as a well written meaningful reply.
