I am so excited! I just attended a free concert for the 80s Latin Freestyle band, Exposé last night. It was a free concert at the grand opening of the ArtsPark Amphitheater in Hollywood, Florida. The weather was absolutely perfect and we were maybe 10 feet away from the stage. It was lawn seating but when they hit the stage everybody got up and danced the night away. They still sound exactly the same as they did 25 years ago! They sang old classics like "Come Go With Me", "Seasons Change[b][i], "[b][i]Point of No Return" and "Exposed to Love". At one point the lead singer, Jeanette Jurado, grabbed a fellow concert-goer's cell phone and sang to the person on the other end. Afterwards the ladies had a meet and greet with all of us fans and they were so friendly when we met them. It was just a great evening! They are coming out with a new album too very soon. So, has anyone out there attended a concert lately or for that matter, a FREE concert like this? It was a great night! Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

The last concert that I attended and also the last free concert that I attended were on the same day last September. It was Blake Shelton performing here in town for the opening of the World Equestrian games that were held in our city last year. There were a ton of people there, but it was a lot of fun as well. I love country music so this was just perfect for me. In addition to getting to hear Blake perform, his then fiancee, Miranda Lambert also did a couple of duets with him during the evening.

I've never heard of Blake Shelton or Miranda Lambert before. I'm glad you got to see them for free though. That always makes the concert all the better in my opinion. Well, maybe not if it's someone you're not interested in, but if it's someone you even remotely like then it definitely does make it better. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

OMG, what a blast from the past. They were one of my FAVE groups in the 1980s. We used to sing in bands and my friend and I used "Seasons Change" as our tryout song. Wow, did that bring back memories! Would love to see them live, what a treat and it was FREE - can't wait to see what they come out with, will be watching for their album. Are they still as beautiful as they were back then?

Oh, that's awesome that you were in bands! That must have been lots of fun. Well, honestly 2 of the 3 still look really good for their ages and are still really attractive. The other one, not so much any more. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

It's been a while. I went to Sat. in the park in Souix City Ia. a few years ago...BB King was the main entertainer..it was like your concert...you sat on the lawn and it was free to the public..we heard bands from noon until midnight! It was awesome!

That sounds like that was a great concert! I really like Expose too. I wish I could have gone to that. It's nice to hear that they weren't snobs or stuck up.

I haven't went to a free concert, but I did just go and see Marty Stuart last weekend. It was a very pleasant concert..everyone was super nice. I was trying to get pictures and these huge guys were in front of me. When they saw what I was doing, they made room for me right in front of the stage so I could get pics. I have tickets to a weekend camping out door concert coming up called Muddy Roots..lol..I'm not sure I will be able to pull the all nighter, but we'll see. I'm glad you had a great time.

I've never heard of Marty Stuart before, but I'm glad you had a great time at the concert. That's nice that the guys in front of you moved out of the way so you could get some pictures. It always makes a difference if you're next to nice people or jerks. Thanks for your comment and happy myLotting!!!

My last one was two summer ago out in Arkansas. It was not really my kind of concert but so happy I went as it actually turned out to be a great deal of fun to hear the music and enjoy the outdoor cooking and all the fun people around.

I've gone to some movies or events that I wouldn't have gone to otherwise but because they were free and it was a nice way to get out of the house and stay within my budget. I really haven't had a bad experience yet. Life is short so I try to enjoy myself as much as possible. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

No, I have not been to any concerts free or otherwise for a while. I love the idea of an outdoor venue. It sounds like you had so much fun and the performers were very nice and accomodating as well.

Yes, they were very nice and not snobby at all. Living in South Florida it is the perfect atmosphere to attend outdoor concerts and that it was a free event made it the perfect trifecta! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!
