Hello lotters,
I just got myself thinking recently, I missed Texting. haven't been Texting in a while because i don't have contacts that text me. before i had a lot of text mates but some of them are nowhere to make contact with again, some are in face-book which i sometimes chat with, others with skype and unbelievably some are Yahoo Mail, which i haven't use in a while.
At least i won't have to spend so much on prepaid or e-load texting because i know i'd be wasting my money. people who have friends yeah i think they are entitled to load and text. i guess my phone now is either for charging and receive calls and text...
Have a Nice day.

Oh Letran. Please do not miss texting. It is the lowest form of communication that I know of. I hate texts, when I receive a text I ring the person back beacuse I can't be bothered with the hassle if typing something out on a phone. Phones were not designed for typing.
I said it many times before and I will say it again

Hello thezone,
Well, It's the only affordable thing i can do when ever there's an emergency or something needed urgent sending. but before i used to like texting a lot in terms of communication and not only call. call rates here are a lot more higher than any other countries.

In an emergency the last thing I could even handle is a text lol. A call is much quicker. You or someone is dying on the street what ya going to to text or call ?
I can imagine myself right now with me guts hanging out trying to scrape a text message together on a mobile pone lol

I was addicted to texting before. I mean the act of texting itself. I didnt care who I was texting with as long as I just have to text. I forwarded messages a lot and I had a postpaid plan back the too. Well, my Mom unknowingly applied for 2 so she gave me the other one. That time I didnt have that much need for texting. I mean, important calls and texts were minimal so I had a lot of credits to burn. So I got addicted to it.
These days, though, I use texting for what it is. I only text when needed and when Im having an sms conversation with someone that I personally know and wish to text with.^_^

Hello Bjcyrix,
How are you? it's been a while. before i use to have a lot of people to text to but it's different now i guess. I wish I had unlimited earnings so that i can call my old friends or have new phone pals to chat with. maybe talk to my friend that has been talking with for a long time.

hi lk! if we can manage to lessen the expenses using other technologies beyond mobile phones, then why not.
ym and skype really helped a lot lowering my bills. plus i'm under a postpaid plan from a network that allows unlimited calls and texts to the same network. before, my phone bills would amount to $225-$400 a month. but with my network service now, i'm only paying less than $50 a month. even if i add my internet which costs about $80-85, the total is still less than what i used to pay for my phone bills.

Hello myles,
Unfortunately for skype, I need to reload my phone so that i can get the chance to contact mom when ever necessary. I am not sure how much i can bear paying that much but i guess it's no big deal if i had a job. i can only lead upon the loading of free offer promotions for unlimited texting.

To be honest, I don't miss texting at all. I have never been a texter but have been addicted to chatting online a lot. I didn't see the point in the texting generation because I get pissed instantly with people who cannot text properly and do shortcut words instead of texting it fully (as if the expense is by character). I am expert texter, I might say, I can text as fast as I could type and as fast as I could talk.
Anyhow, I did attempt having textmates a few years back, but found it frustrating to be talking to someone for quite a while, only to find out that physically you don't like the person. I did try to meet several (as friends) but saw that that is the worst way to find someone as a companion or friend. I guess it doesn't work for me.
It's different though online, because you will see the person through the webcam and find a lot more photos for the person, though still, it's different when you meet.
As for expenses of texting, I don't think anyone who cannot provide himself or herself the load or money to load up prepaid numbers should be texting in the first place. I am proud to say that never have I allowed my mobile number to go less than 100 load. I was an expert with the unlimited text and calls before, but now that I have opened a postpaid line, I no longer care because I have too many credits to even consume the whole month.
I guess if I had been addicted these days, the people texting me would quit before I do so. hahahahaha..
Anyway, it was a phase in my life that I don't regret. You do find a lot of lonely souls in the digital world and I guess through that medium people could be whoever they wanted to be. An ugly person could be the most handsome guy, the married man could be single, and the gay could be a girl. But all in all, most of it is a lie anyways. Nothing to be serious about.
Have a great MyLot experience!

Hello Laydee,
I had text mates in the past, some of them were just friends, some i had crushes on. and one person, i had my first relationship with is now married with kids. i miss texting but unfortunately, am not sure if i can find an honest text mate just like before. there was this one person that i used to like a lot. i don't know where she is anymore.

Definitley, we are charged for texting and if you think of it in another angle, like you mention, it's actually a good thing because you are able to save some money!!
It's quite true. During my high school days, i do have many text mates but now, i'm left with only a little. Furthermore, it's much more convenient to use skype or MSN messenger. We only need a internet connection.
However, i try my best not to log in to those sites because they will really eat away the time that i have available for studying and revising my work.
Technology has evolved and i wonder what the new technology will surprise us when it comes to communication in 2111

Hello dream ozn,
I hate the fact that not only we are charged for texting but also charged.I hate it that we got more charge here in terms of calls compare to any one else in teh world where texting here is cheaper than call. well, that has taken the attention of the senate

Hello Asliah,
Definitely a waste of money that's for sure. I agree that phone call is a lot better and you can actually call them up instead. most specially if it's only in your area of residence. it's supposed to be free if it's in your area only

I do a lot of texting. I pay extra $5 per month to be able to text more. I do this mostly with my friends, clients and hubby. I may not be able to catch these people online all the time. Some of my clients can't be reached so easily, so I leave a text message for them to call me back or instructions for the next course of action, etc. I love to text!

Hello sydney,
that is like two to three hundred of our philippine peso, that's a lot unless you got a lot of friends in your place. oh, you mentioned clients? i guess texting is a good source indeed so that it wouldn't be too much noisy. i guess you're one of those text addicts, i was like that once

never missed texting except texting family members, loved ones, and actual friends. not a big fan of sms. i know it is convenient but i'd rather call the person instead of send him/her a sms. just a preference. better yet, i'd rather converse with the person face to face, more personal and definitely better.
cheers lk25!

Hi Letran,
I never really liked texting and if I need to communicate with anyone, I'd rather make a voice call. But I do resort to texting whenever the one I need to communicate with can't be reached. Texting takes more effort coz you have to type your message in such a small device, and I must say I haven't developed the skill for this.

i still text once in a while, it is the least expensive way of communication, very similar to chatting bu you dont have to be online. I know this was originally made for mute and deaf people but texting has really changed the mobile industry in the Phil. i dont think cell phones would have spread asw widely if not for texting.

Same here, probably when there is a real emergency. but even though with an emergency like this one i didn't think of loading my phone. instead i decided to make sure that i can load it when it's necessary, except a few hours ago

Hi Letran
I use to get texts at all hours of the day and night and sometimes ridiculously late too. Somehow mine too have halted and well though it was a bit disheartening I am now use to it. Seems that because I am not working I guess some just do not want to be bothered with me so then I guess it is okay as really where is the true sense of what I use to call them friends.

Hello hardworkgurl,
Wow, i thought you usually get more calls instead of text in america? there are people that are pretty much busy with their lives. sadly, some of those don't txt or call anymore, but there is one person who keeps on texting me even though am not responding to them. they know i have no load

Well I'm not really a texting guy although we are the text capital of the world, I seldom or never use texting for socializing, only with old acquaintances and business matters. My phone is post paid ever since I can remember and I still have a lot of extra call and text at the end of the month, funny but I never experienced buying load like most people do cause I do not want conversation cut or the bother because you run out of load and you are talking or discussing something really important

Hello sjvg,
I never tried voice call before except in the phone directly back then a long while ago. To be honest with you I never tried doing the voice call. more like leaving a message on their phone active like a answering machine. i think this is a lot cooler

people nowadays contact each other through facebook. i have just one textmate right now. we can't chat on facebook everyday that's why we keep texting each other. i also use my phone to check on my daughter because he's dad is also not able to use the computer. but if all my contacts will be able to use a computer everyday, i probably won't be using my phone anymore.

Hello apples,
I guess some people really prefers it the cheaper way of communicating with you and that is through text. i think it's good that you're hubby shows a real sense of communication because you get to receive call from him instead. as for your siblings, i think it's good that you received text from them, not bad but you have to get used to them texting you
