Hello Lotters, You know, that really didn't cross my mind before. i had these brushes in the past and some i've used it up for a year and when ever i brush them on my teeth, wow teeth gums started bleeding because the brush were some what hard to brushed into my teeth. then i had to replace them after like six months and a year. I've search a bit and some dentist were saying that you have to change your brush every three months but since i like brushes with designs, they last months and a year with me. Until last night my moms fixing her room, cleaning it up when she found a spare red brush and gave it to me. So, i was like, Okay time to let this another cool brush go. i might use it to brush jolens teeth So, how many seconds, hours, days, weeks, months, years, or even decades before you get a new brush?

Hello Jazel, Wow, you regularly change their brush every single month. How I wish I had a dentist like that since I was a kid. But I got several different dentist when I was kid but not because of the regular tooth cleaning but also my crown fixing. That's good that you change them every time and then. Have a nice day.

I usually change mine every 6 months or so. When it looks used and abused, I throw it away or use it for a cleaning tool. When I go to the dentist, I usually ask for an extra toothbrush or two so I can change it earlier than 6 months due to an illness or other unforseen causes. I guess I don't mark on my calendar when I open my toothbrush and track how long I use it before I throw it away or use it for a cleaning tool. Maybe I should start changing it every three months...

Hello mindym, That's a bright idea, you can recycle you're toothbrush and use it for cleaning stuff. Sometimes I think the brush is still pretty much new after using it still three months. But if it's the dentist rule, then there's no point of questioning it. Thanks.

I buy a new toothbrush when mine gets wore out. I usually buy a couple of them to have on hand so I always have a new one before the other one gets worn out.

Hello tepsh, So, you buy a new one after the old one has worn out? I wonder how worn out it is for a toothbrush? I wonder what happens to the worn our tooth brushe's that you have. It can also be used for cleaning unreachable areas in your toilet. Have a nice day.

LetranKnight25, Many dental health articles including my personal dentist have recommended that I change them every 3 months. However, I have done that much more frequently as I use to travel very often and the hotels never fail to change the toiletries in my room. I do carry a personal one in case of emergency but again they are being changed when I get my fresh supplies on board my flights. However, my family would be changing every 2 months or when the bristles appear worn or awry.

LetranKnight25, I believe you can be assured that the hotels that I deal with have a pretty high standard about health and hygiene. The toiletries other than the shampoo and foam baths are actually sterilized, packed and sealed. Not forgetting, some hotels even have my personally preferred brands when I check-in. Also, it is true that our toothbrushes' condition deteriorate faster than we anticipate considering the tropical heat we are in. Consider that.

Hello Skysuccess, That would be frightening and awful if the hotels aren't changing their toiletries there, the next thing we need, we could be getting previous customer's diseases. I think changing earlier than two months is good also considering you might have easy access to supplies or stores buying new brushes. Have a nice day

I usually replace my toothbrush every month or when the brushes begin to thin out. It's recommended to replace them every 3 months because of bacteria that stays on the toothbrush from your mouth and over time that bacteria...well you can imagine what happens.

It is healthy for our teeth to change the tooth brush every three months. But, how many of us follow and obey that rule? I can say that they are very few in number. I use one brush eight to one year. Tooth brush won't come in my memory when I go out for shopping. The reason is that we give less importance to the beautification of our teeth. But nobody never forget about necessary cosmetics when they go for shopping. Because people give primary importance to their face and skin.

Hello Jiabsa, Well, I don't know really that much but one thing is for sure, toothbrush has their own limitations, and expirations too. I think that is just the latest trend for women and also for men. I believe when the dentist does remind us of these changes in the tooth brush, they want to keep our hygene intact with our teeth.

Hi. LetranKnight25. I have always had a toothbrush that lasted for many years, but the bristles seem to wear out within two to three months of using it. So, I always change out my toothbrush every three months to be exact. I do this with my kids toothbrush too. I just can't seem to keep using a toothbrush that has bristles that are wearing out.

Hello cream, Many years?? unless you want a steel bristles, i think you still need to replace them though. i think they do wear out after three months, why is it there's a lot of tooth brush out there, if not to be replaced.

There are different types of toothbrushes and I use several. I have an electric toothbrush and chenge the brush each 2 or 3 months. Then I have a pet toothbrush that has been with me around 6 months, but I don´t use it everyday. It´s a very sowt one I use for my gums. Decades? Not yet

The electric brush I have now has normal batteries and the brush can be replaced. It didn´t cost me so much either. The only thing I don´t like about it is that it does nor work with replacable batteries as the regular ones are a little stronger.

Hello marguicha, I have use an electric tooth brush once, but that is disposable i think. i believe i need a brush that is rechargable and can have it's brush replaced, but i thinkthere's already available i just need to search for it.

Hi LetranKnight, I do change it 3 to 4 months once. Its good to change it as i see it does anything at all after that. Its true most of us dont care much about teeth unless we have complications. I realized when i visited dentist. From then on, i care my teeth and brush bit serious. lol.

Hello Besthope, Well, I do have complications, i lost of few after all those years. probably i should have been more careful with my teeth instead.but now am more aware of my teeth and i take care of it more often than it should.

Wow, you really hold on to things, don't you?:) My dentist recommends that I change toothbrushes every two months because that's basically the length of time a brush is supposed to work really efficiently, I try to follow that, but if I get sick or something, I also change brushes straight after I get better.
• Philippines

Hello swirl, Yeah, but that's because i don't have time to buy new one or i just didn't give myself that option during that time.i agree with you that the tooth brush do serve a limited quality of time. you must be very sensitive to tooth brush that you tend to change even when you're sick. Not bad i guess you have money for it.

I usually get a new toothbrush whenever the bristles are all bent, so that is usually around 2 months or so. I think it is to be changed every month or so. I don't think that keeping your toothbrush for that long is very hygenic

Hello anonymous, most of the time only when i feel that bristles are hard enough to harm my teeth, that's the time that i should have changed my brush. you're right maybe i should stop this habit and instead change my brush every three months or my teeth suffers.have a nice day

Usually, dentists suggest to change toothbrush every 6 months but we don't do that & try our best make our toothbrush last long. Don,t know why but its harmful for aur teeth & gums. We should replace our old toothbrush with a new one every 6 months.

hello ninja (HAIII YAH!) I thought Ninja's would use their samurai's instead of flosh to clean that dirt in their teeth sides ( kidding). but i understand abou twhat you said, it's harmful to the teeth it could bleed your gums. well, i respect your opinion, if it's six months, you say? alright have a nice day
@Galena (9110)

you SHOULD change your toothbrush every three months. not only do the bristles become softer over time and lose their effective shape, but also, bacteria can breed in the brush. I don't tend to keep track of how often I change my brush, but I really like brushing with new brushes as they feel really effective, so I do change them quite often.
• Philippines
11 Jun 11
Hello galena, Yes, thank you and that's because i have experience it already it's awful. not only effective but looks cool too. if there's one thing i hate about brushing, it's in the bacteria getting into the brush

I usually have a new toothbrush after 3 months, because my mother buys it for me, if it were left to me, I'd use the toothbrush up till the bristles are already going towards left and right...but thankfully there's my mother who never fails to buy new toothbrushes every 3 months...she says it's healthier that way...

marapplestiffy, Hahaha! there's no way that i would have my bristles go left and right or my teeth will suffer that's good for her that she keeps buying you tooth brush for every three months though. a lot has say it already so i think am convinced now that it's should be three months before you replace it.

Hello stephy, WHAT?! wow, really you too must have been really conscious of your teeth. but the best thing to do is brush you're teeth after meals. as for the tooth brush as long as it's covered to prevent bacteria in it i think you won't get a disease there. must have cheap price tooth brush for you to buy there.

Generally,I buy toothbrush and toothpaste together.I think that toothbrush producer know the rule when your toothpaste run out , you should throw away toothbrush. So,you could buy them together, not to concern when to replace the toothbrush.Or,you get two toothpaste and one toothbrush together.Maybe it could be right by the dentist. what about this?

hello bullblack, welcome to mylot. i hope they can create a toothpaste that can last longer than three month's use, am sure they have already invented that. well, come to think of it maybe i can buy two tooth brush and tooth paste instead. as for the dentist, i think i don't need any advice from them since it's common knowledge about the tooth brush
