a wise man once sat in the audience & cracked a joke.all laughed like crazy.after a moment, he cracked the same joke again and a little less people laughed this time.
He cracked the same joke again and again, when there was no laughter in the crowd,he smiled and said, "when u can't laugh on the same joke again and again, then why do u keep crying over the same thing over and over again,Forget the past and move on....
thats life, and that must i need to do in my life,Forget the past and move on to enjoy life.

Hi friend, nice story with a good moral. We must forget about our past sorrows and move on with our present. There is no use in worrying about the past, it will spoil the present. Good to hear you planned to forget the past and move on with the present, keep it up forever

Yes, we should not ruin our day just to remember our past and then it would make us hurt all over again. Past is the best teacher and experience and it will make us strong so remember it and just think for its worth that made you stronger this time and not the things that makes you weak.

Hi!
That is so true! People should let bygones be bygones. No use looking back to past and cry over it. As they say, no use crying over spilled milk. The only reason that the past exists is for people to learn from them. So it's okay to look back as long as we don't sulk over it but to learn from it and move forward. There's no other way but forward since we can't go back. We have to move on and live life.
Cheers.

It's always easy when we say we should forget the past that has hurt has but in reality, it's very hard to do it. It's what I always say to myself. I have to move on, I have to learn how to live life without the person I once loved. But instead of moving on, I keep on coming back to him again and again. Getting hurt again and again. I wish I could find someone or something that will divert my emotions to so I can forget my past.

I get the concept and it make logical sense, but a joke is just a joke. When things happen that are bad, depending on the reason, it is very difficult to forget. Laughter is short lived but sadness could be a life sentence. I wish life could be the way the man put it, life would be perfect.

that's definitely right . the past is gone and static, nothing we can will change .but the future is before us and dynamic , everything we can do will affect it

Hi!
Very well quoted. I fully agree with it that we should not worry unnecessarily for those things, which are not going to happen. However, it is said that an empty mind is devil's workshop, therefore, whenever we are sitting idle we keep worrying and make us sad. It is always better that we should move ahead and should forget whatever happened in past because yesterday cannot be undone. Life is lovely and we should live in present.

There is no point in carrying a heavy emotional baggage as we journey through the future. If we cling to our painful past, we can't progress far. It is better to let go of the past and start afresh. Life is too short not to enjoy the wonders of this world.

It's really not easy to forget the past, specially if it hurt you so much.
In my experience, it took me 4 months, before i finally can say i moved on. I cried almost every night , and my husband would comfort me. I was a housewife then , since i resigned from my last job, a few years ago.
When i started to work again, slowly, the pain was eased and then i accepted the fact and finally moved on. My mind was diverted to my work and i have gained back my self esteem .
But i haven't forgotten the past, it's still in my mind, but it doesn't hurt tha much anymore. Besides, i don't ever bring the past up again.

Great analogy, sometimes we get stuck on something that hurts us. We keep remembering the pain, the hurt, how it happened, what someone has said, or whatever that is that made us cry. We keep thinking and crying over and over and over and over again for the same thing...
One preacher said emotions are just like food. When you have a spaghetti now, it would be so much valid to say, you want to eat it, because it's fresh, it's still edible. But try keeping that spaghetti for a week or two, would you still want it? Isn't it spoiled? that if you try to eat it, your stomach would be ruined. You'd be poisoned. It's no longer good. Just like our emotions (specially negative emotions). It's valid to be angry, depressed, disappointed, sad, or frustrated at one time or another, but it would not be good to stay that way for a long time, coz if you do, it would ruin your life, your career, your relationship, your family, etc. Bottom line is, (you're right) we have to move on.

Hi asiliah,
Its a master piece of knowledge I learned today, what you said is 100% true. People don't take their good things with them in life but they carry all sorrows and painful moments with them forever.
I liked the way you presented and I will sure use this in some of my speking wherever it is appropriate. Knowledge is like a flowing river from one place to another. You have shared your knowledge and I will do the same. Keep posting this kind of life quotes.
Good Luck
Happy Living

I like what the man said asliah,it's true!
I was able to move on and found a family because I did forget the past. The past will just remain a memory to me,one part of my life that somehow thought me of what life is. Past will always be a part of our life's history and that part makes us as what we are now,it is now up to a person on how he/she's gonna handle it.
Enjoy life!

The phrase "forget the past and move on" is really true. If something bad experiences happened to us, we should still move, learn from it, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Life is so beautiful. We should make the most of it since we are here just on a borrowed time. Let us take the opportunity to make good things here on earth.
Whatever problems we encountered, always believe that there is someone up there, the Creator of all things, who is very willing to help you in times of your trials in life. GOD is so merciful to us.
Take care always asliah!

Its a nice way of saying lets move on with our life. The baggage of the past comes in the way of living in the present moment. When we are saddened by events of the past, they come in the way making full use of opportunities the present has to offer.I feel its best we learn the lessons of the past and work towards doing well in the present moment.Every present moment lived well leads to a good future.

Sadly it is not easy but with time one can certainly move on. It takes a great deal of time for one to completely forget, however one will always remember a few things about the past and advisable as it is the only way one can learn for the future.

It's actually really hard to move on when someone experienced great pain in his/her life but for us to live we need to press on and continue in living. Let's remember that if we are in that great pain we should not live or stay there longer because I believe those pains will just make people more miserable, sad and empty and loosing hope for a good and a brighter future. In life, people must understand that being in great pain is just natural and all people can experience same situation with the other. The best thing to do is to forget even though it's not easy to do and even it will take long time to ease the pain you need to try to let go and move forward for you to live again peacefully and you must dream and plan for the next step of your life so that you will not be on that pain again. There are no pain we can't bear if are just strong and patient and if we just thinking and dreaming for the future that are waiting or us. So, everybody, let's move on and seek for a new day!

Wow! that is so true! I am tired of people complaining & blaming other people for the situation they are in' blaming the way they were raised, or their boss etc. Our reality is OUR reality. we are where we are because we chose to be. if we don't like where we are, we & only we can change it! We need to take some responsibility for OUR lives...quit complaining & do something about it if we're so unhappy! (I'm speaking from a little experience...I finally realized that I am getting nowhere. My bosses have made it clear that there will be no raises, so I was left with....well, I have to do something to change my life. It's no one's fault that i am where i am!)
:)- so...i'm moving on!
