I like reading books but I think I have now hit a point where I don't know which books I will be interesting to me anymore so I need your opinion guys. What books can you recommend me? I particularly like books which are light hearted, mystery, or set in the historical ages like victorian age/roman age/pyramid age something like that. No sci fi for me though. Thanks to anyone who can recommend a good book :)

I like historical fiction. I am just about finished (on the last 5 pages) with The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory. Set in the 1500's during Henry VIII reign and about his first queen and subsequent wives as he was trying to sire a son for the throne of England. I've checked its narrative with the true history and the author does take some liberties with the facts. For the most part it is a good read.

The Geodyssey volumes by Piers Anthony is a series of epics that are historical to back to the beginning of man. The series begins with Isle of Woman as the first volume succeeded by Shame of Man as volume 2. The entire series contains about 5 or 6 volumes and is about man's evolution, history and general societal formation. They are not quite what one is accustomed to reading as historical novels but will keep your attention page after page. You can find more about the series on Anthony's website.

If you like Historical novels I would suggest "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It covers the life and time of England during the Civil War of the 1100 to 1200. The book is built around the building of a Cathedral and the struggle between the Church and the King. I have read the book several times and really enjoy it.

It is hard to recommend books to people when you don't know their reading tastes. However, I am one to stick to certain genres and authors but lately have started reading other types of books. I have been winning books online, books I don't even think I'll like but love the challenge of trying to win. Every book I have won and read (still a couple I haven't read yet) I have not been disappointed in. There are new books being released every day. You should subscribe to some book blogs that do reviews on books. When you subscribe to these blogs and keep active you have opportunities to win books as well. Missy's Book Nook, The Bookish Type and Girls Just Reading are 3 blogs that I follow but there are a lot more out there. I review books that I post on Triond. If you want to see those reviews, let me know and I will give you the links.

Do you like the Fantasy Fictions? If so you can check out the likes of Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter series, The Eragon Series, The Bartimaeus Trilogy and The Wheels of Time series. You can check out any of these books and let me know if you like it. I can then suggest other similar books. Cheers! Ram

What kind of books do you like to read? I have read a few of these and heard good things about others: A Million Little Pieces, The Kite Runner, The Da Vinci Code, The Time Travelor's Wife, My Friend Leonard, etc. Those are just some top sellers I can think of. But it really depends on what you're into. Personally I love memoirs!

Hello ellainepalma! If you are up to mystery sort of things, why don't you try the books of Mary Clark Higgins or Paulo Coelho? Or might as well try the stories written by Dan Brown? Hmmm How about the series "Percy Jackson and the Olympians"? However, ellaine, everything will just be depending on you. Read whatever it is your heart tells you to read. Do not be confused on what to read, there are millions of references out there and choices where you can choose a particular story to read. Again, follow your heart. Enjoy reading! ^_^
