Where I live, this week's temperatures have been nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and it's been very humid most days. My car's air conditioning wasn't working. Luckily, it only needed a recharge and it's now fixed, THANK GOODNESS!! However, I suffered all week driving a half hour each way to and from work. As I drove to work I noticed all these people with their windows down. If it's in the 70 or even the 80s and not humid, sure roll those windows down. If your air conditioning is broken (like mine was), roll the windows down. However, if it's in the 90s or feels like it's over 100 degrees, turn the damn A/C on. I don't know WHY anyone would needlessly suffer in the heat. I understand people want to get better gas mileage or like the fresh air in their face, but it's too hot for that! How about you? Do you turn the a/c on or roll down the windows when you're driving and it's incredibly hot and humid??

omg I so know how you feel and I am so happy for you to have it going again! I had to go one year with a car that had windows stuck in the up position and the ac did not work. Now that was serious suffering! I thank God every day for my car that runs good with ac that I am driving now!

Oh my goodness that's horrible! At least my windows could roll down, however with high heat and humidity it really didn't do all that much to help, but still better than having a hot car and windows stuck shut!

HiBethany 1202, Congratulations, on getting that car air conditioner fixed; my car is in the same condition(no air conditioner)and I do drive with my windows down. I know that driving with your windows down increases the use of gas, which I cannot afford to do. However, being female, I am afraid to take my car in for repairs because I don't trust them to tell me the truth about the repair and how much it will cost to get it fixed. I have been suffer through the heat here for a while.Where I live we hardly every have a "real" winter. So, until I get the nerve to just take it in and maybe get a second opinion I will just roll those windows down.

To where it is very hot or humid it is I can ay that I prefer to sit home and not drive. But as I found driving is your passion and do not drive when you suffer is not it.

I try to avoid using the AC as much as I can. Reason is simple - it consumes much gas and I don't really have enough money to buy it at these extraordinary prices. My country adds so many taxes on gas, that we probably pay for it 50% more than Americans do. If you paid for the car's petrol that much, would you use the AC constantly? I doubt. I actually even avoid using my car these days. Oh well, who knows how worse it could be in the future. Have a nice day, I am happy you had it fixed, because there are some days so humid and hot that even I can't avoid using it for a while.

Now I know hubby likes to roll his down to let the hot air out and then rolls them up. I saw that too with our recent heat wave people with windows down, but like you maybe their a/c doesn't work or they are driving a company vehicle that doesn't have it. Sadly though with my drive it's not worth wild to turn on the a/c because it barely kicks in by the time I get to work, not cause it doesn't work but I'm too close to home.

Where I live the temperatures where the same and very humid but I only have 1 car that has A/C and that has been my very first car with a/c. It seems like every cars a/c goes first. I bet you the people who had their windows rolled down did not have a/c in their cars. No everyone's car is lucky enough to have it. If they had a/c then heck yah turn it on and quick! I know in Florida no one goes without A/C. My mom moved there and her car did not have a/c so she gave it to my sister in Ohio and bought a car with a/c. With the windows being down sucks on gas mileage as well because the air blows in slowing the car down forcing you to press on the gas more to get the car going back up to the normal speed again.
