Home Alone....

So for the first time in months, I'm at home all alone. I've got the house to myself for the weekend, and I've finished pretty much all my homework so now I don't have much better to do than tell everybody on mylot that I'm feeling lonely. And I have books to read but I miss having people around. It's such a nice day. I would usually go down to the lake and read there with my sister. I could read alone of course, but it's not the same for some reason! lol What do you do when you're at home alone?

I do what I always do, play on the computer..lol Actually sometimes it isn't playing like when I am doing my school work or working on my story. I do this while not alone, but it is easier to work without distractions..

I actually think it's harder to work in an empty house. Is that weird of me? The silence is so unsettling for me. I get antsy, lonely, and afraid of my own shadow. Yeah, if this is how I am after one weekend home alone then I'll never be able to live alone.

No, not weird, just different..Like some people can do math work while listening to music, I have to have complete silence or I'll never get it done..

Oh yeah... me too! I'm really horrible with math. I have to put all my concentration on it.

If I'm ever home alone, I usually get down to my computer playing games or watching movies or reading an ebook which I downloaded for free!!!! I guess that's the way I've read more books than actually buying them. Chatting is never an option, not because I ostentatiously reject it as a shallow activity, but due to the very simple fact that not many people want to chat with me!!! If after a long while, my eyes start to water (not from any emotional scenes, but just due to a prolonged glueing to the screen!!!), then I just take my mobile with my earphones on and take a walk up on the roof listening to the radio, or I sit and sing a few songs myself. I usually don't need an audience, I like to hear myself singing. That's all.. I'm content if I'm alone. The kind of people who I regularly see around me at the workplace makes me feel as though it's better to be alone, actually. At least, I won't be able to hurt myself emotionally.

Yes, ally, it will be possible if I commit a murder or something!!! I know, it's not a good thing at all to stare at the computer scrren for such a long time, but as you've yourself said, I don't have anything better to do. In any case, it will be either the computer screen, or the TV screen!!! But don't get the impression that I'm a couch potato. I strictly don't allow myself to become stagnant.

Yes, ally, it will be possible if I commit a murder or something!!! lol, well I would recommend not attempting for research's sake. And don't worry about me judging you as a couch potato. I think I spend too much time on the internet myself, but I do attempt to get up and be active pretty often, so I know it's possible for everybody. ... ever get the feeling modern life is ruled by screens?

"At least, I won't be able to hurt myself emotionally." Oh, anything's possible. I'm not a fan of eBooks at all, and I hate staring at a computer screen all day long. I usually log on online in 1 hour bursts. I'll go away and come back again later if I don't have anything better to do.

Reading, sometimes watching the tv, but occasionally i go on the net, chat with friends or even play online games, which sometimes tend to become very addicting and therefore can get rid of the lonelyness by letting you focus on something else.

I spent most of yesterday reading. I love to read, but I actually find it harder to concentrate when I'm in an empty house. Is that weird of me? Actually I'm like that with most things. When there are people in the house I can do anything. Homework, games, reading, writing... whatever. When there's nobody in the house I'm suddenly not able to concentrate on anything.

Well at times I do love being home alone but I prefer people around me :) But yeah being home alone for the whole weekend can be quite boring and actually scary too, for me. I can never spend the whole night along in my home, I get nasty scared Anyway when I'm home alone I usually watch dramas or practice some dance or my vocal lessons. That's pretty much it.

I definitely prefer people being around. My sister's going to a convention so she's been popping in at night and then leaving again in the morning... so it leaves me mostly on my own. I've been reading and I went out yesterday to walk. I might try dancing sometime cause I like to dance. Come to think of it, it has been awhile since I did some dancing.

Well I would probably do something equally embarrassing. Being home alone at night scares me infinitely more than being home alone during the day time.

Oh it's good that your sis is home atleast during the night time. I think it would be dangerous and kinda scary being home alone at night. I would pee my pants i swear LOL

uhhhmmmmm ALONE? that would be nice ^_~, but honestly being alone is not a good thing though, why you wouldn't go out? or if you're just in home try to watch some movies or playing games online (well that would be so tiring sometimes LOL), what about chatting? hm.......... but living in a home alone with a nice garden and a lake makes me feels an ANGEL ^_^ (but for a small time LOL)...

I did go out a few times yesterday. I don't know whether or not I'll go out again today, but it's likely. I don't like sitting alone in an empty house. Even if I do have something to do. I don't have a garden and the lake isn't mine. lol I have to walk a ways to get to it and there's no swimming allowed so really I just take my book and read by it or walk around. Find some neighbors to talk to.

I dislike home alone (except the movie). But, if there is any situation for it, first I find a relative or friend for a mate! :) I think reading books, surfing internet and watching TV are good at home alone!

I've been reading. I'm not really a fan of the internet or TV... I mean... obviously I'm on the internet right now but it's really not my favorite thing to do. I'm going to log off in a bit and probably go out walking. The community pool's open so maybe I can go swimming too. That would be nice, and I could probably find some people!

lol... I was doing what I liked. Reading, writing, and walking. I never did get to go swimming, but that would have been a fun thing to do too.

ok. you may not a fan of internet/TV, and you may dislike my favorites. that is no matter! But I would like to share you one thing which my teacher advised me: When you feeling alone (or home alone), do which you LIKE. It is very important to keep you happy, active and confidential. Doing your favorite works is great to help prevent fears and mood out! So enjoy which you like! Happy lotting!

I love to play on the computer and write because it takes me away from reality. I will have to go to bed soon though, lol. It's easier to work without distractions, but I don't often get the time due to my children always being around.

I don't really enjoy being alone. I think I realize that whenever I get left home alone. Hopefully my sister's gonna be back soon and then I won't be so lonely anymore. I read some, washed the dishes, went out to the lake and read and walked.... it was nice but I really miss my people.

I love being alone but I also love being with the people I love...can't decide which I prefer... back to the question, I'm mostly alone in our house everyday since my mother goes to the market to tend to her store and my sister and brother go out the whole day...I just read books, write something, or go for a swim...now here at the city I mostly do myLot or read/write...

I love being with people... but I can't say I've ever loved being alone. I do spend a far amount of time alone... but I don't love it or really even like it all that much. I went ahead and went down to the lake dock to read in the sun and try to make my hair blonde again (its having a rebellion, it wants to be brown... so I've been sunning it). Now I'm back in my painfully empty and quiet house. I think I'm going to read some more and finish my book. After that I'll probably do some writing. Then I don't know what. Wish I could go swimming (the lake I mentioned is not the swimming type... lol).

Sounds dull. lol I hate staying on the computer all day. It makes me feel like I have no life. I turned it on and off yesterday. I'm back to being alone again... my sister came and went back out. I'm sad.

Chat rooms can be fun when feeling lonely. Online games can be fun as well. Sounds like you enjoy being around others so head on down to the lake and live it up!

lol I did. It was nice. There were some neighbors out. I like my computer and the internet well enough, but in all honesty, talking to people online is no true replacement for face to face relationships.
