Does anyone still have a landline? I don't but I kinda miss having one. I miss sitting at the desk doodling on paper while I hold the bulky receiver to my ear. Or sitting on the couch twisting the cord up after I dial the loud numbers. No one ever mistakenly interrupted me and came up talking to me while I was on the phone because they didn't see the earpiece in my ear. And remember if you were mad..you could hang up on someone and feel better just by slamming the phone down! Aw the good ol days!

I still have a landline at home. Although the cellphones are quite popular today. But when I am home, I still prefer that others to call my landline at first. As when I pick up a cellphone call, it will charge me. Besides, we need to have a landline at home so that we can have ADSL -- the internet connection. So we can not cancel it anyway.
I love China

That's right, a lot of people use their phone line for a internet connection, thanks!

Yeah, we have a landline at home but we don't receive much calls. Mobile phone are really handy. Landline are cheaper. There are landline units that can send SMS to any mobile or landline with SMS feature.

No I dont really miss landlines. I really love that I can now take my phone with me because its portable. Now I never miss a call since my phone is always with me. I do however hate when people cant stop playing with their cell phones. I will see couples out to dinner completely ignoring each other and playing with their phones, its crazy.

When my son (21yrs) comes to visit he usually has a few of his friends with him.
Its not long after they sit down that I look around and they all have their phones out doing something with them. Typing, texting, online, something. I get mine out just to fit in. jk not really...lol

I have a cell phone but I have kept my land line and refuse to give it up. I treat my cell phone as an out of house phone so the people I love can get ahold of me if they need me. My land line will stay and I will use it as a way to keep in touch when I am in the house. I love my land line

I have a landline, but it is cordless. I do not get the tangled cords. I only have trac fone cells for hubby and I. We do not need an extra bill to pay, when we are together most of the time and at home and people can call us there. It is bundled with our internet and we will be keeping it.

Hi. devideddi. I kind of miss having a land line phone too. I love to hear my telephone ring while i8t was on the wall of when it was sitting on a table. It was fun to be able to stay on it for a longer period of time without having to get off of the telephone, because it needed charging. I prefer to use a telephone that has a cord on it. That way, I won't have to charge the telephone up so much.

I still have my land line, but the land line phones now are getting more and more technical as well. The cordless one I have has caller id on the screen as well as missed calls. You can program phone numbers into it and lord knows what else it has! It's just almost too much technical stuff for me. I have just a regular corded phone in my bedroom and thats just fine with me. Don't get me wrong, I do have a cell phone, but I don't use it anymore than I have to. I still remember back when I was a child we were on a party line and you could pick up the receiver and listen to others talk or interrupt them and say you needed to make a call. That I don't miss! Best wishes!

I do. I don't really like talking in the mobile phone, partly because I have a very cheap one that doesn't have very good loudspeakers, but also because it's too small I think. I use it mainly when I'm at home, and then the landline is much cheaper. It's also very much cheaper to call abroad. Some of my friends there still have landlines, and then it doesn't cost much more than phoning a mobile in Norway.
Last weekend, the mobile network of the main operator in Norway suddenly went down. It's working now, but they still don't know why it did it. Landlines worked though, so I keep telling all my friends with small children they should have one in case something happens and they need to call an ambulance even if the mobile networks down.
I can't slam the phone down though, as it's one of the carry-around-thingies. I can set it forcefully down the charger *hehe*
