One has to get a second job and then leave the first one. If one is sent compulsorily by the company for reasons known to them, then no problem. You can find out one subsequently. have a good day.

hi welcome to my lot lovingna here in Southern California to quit a job when jobs are almost non existent is to be a fool. To change jobs here get that new job signed for and all then give your notice to quit to your old boss. Here now you must be very careful that you actually have the job then hand in your quitting papers. Any other way may land in you in the long unemployment lines and you just do not want that at all.Where ever you live do be sure you have that new job for sure before quitting as its more fair to both old employer and new to be employer.

The last time I changed jobs, I had the new job lined up before I quit the old job. It really makes more sense that way because if you quit the old job first, you may find yourself looking for a job for a long time and not having any way to support yourself while trying to go through interviews.

maybe it depends on the industry that you are working. yes, it is better to have a job first before quitting your job but that can also complicate things because it could breach your contract with your current company that would lead to termination. so i think it is best to save for enough money first before quitting and then after quitting, find a new job.

I've always found a new role first before quitting my existing job. I've even had jobs with 6 month notice periods which I found most employers are willing to negotiate to something more reasonable - afterallthey don't want you wasting your time and their money for six months or having the risk of you just not turning up one morning. I heard its extremely rare for an employer to sue an employee for not serving notice.

I know some people who can find another new job when they are working in the current company. But I can't do this. I will feel embarassed as I need to have a day off so that I can deal with the frequent interviews. I have to make up different excuses and I don't like to tell a lie so often. This is why I always quit the current job so that I can feel relaxed to find another new job. Although it is risky since you may take some time to find a job.

In my opinion, it's more reasonable to fix first a new job before leaving that one you already have got. What happens if you quit first to have more time to search another one? Maybe you won't find it as fast as you wish or need to find it. So you could rest plenty of time without working. In the meantime, you still need money to overcome all your bills. I also made the experience that it's easier to find a new job when you are working than if not. It seems like that the companies appreciate more workers than unemployed. It opens the door for questions like: if he/she is good in his/her job, why isn't he/she working already? But, if you are working and looking for another job, there is still the reason like: I'm looking for a job giving me better conditions....

I wouldn't risk not having money by quitting my job and then look for a job later. I would certainly, apply for a job while i am still at a job. A leave of absence whenever an interview pertinent to the job application , could be filed . This is permitted by companies, but of course you don't have to tell them honestly that you will be looking for a job.

I'd rather choose new job first because I don't want to take a risk.Based on my experienced that's best decision since I waited for long time to have new job after I quite.Even we're smart and have a lot of certificates, getting job is still not easy to find.

Hi lovingna,
Welcome to MyLot!
Well, Hunting a new Job is not that easy where Job's suitable to me. This is my opinion, If you already have your first Job. Don't quick to quit. why? because it will just give you a record in your coming New Job that you did not last long on that Job. They will might think of negative things. Maybe you are not that flexible or versatile in any manner of Job. We have to think that First Job will give you a good benefits and experience for a second Job you will have. Many believes that having different kind of Jobs will give them some kind of extraordinary compared to other employees. If you will just think of it clearly. The benefit is on the one who has long experience in a certain company. This will give you a better idea and experience. Practically speaking, We should not just relied on a salary basis. But also what you will gain of experience and learnings. Tips to those who wants to find a better Job than their previous Job. Make a success inventory. You will used it during the job interview. I hope it might help You guys and gulls. God Bless
