I am planning to put up an online shop. I will be selling bags, clothes for women on this site. But the problem is, I will order/purchase my goods online. I have not seen the quality of the products. I just based my judgement on the pictures that I saw on their site. I know I am taking a big risk here but in order for me to sell these products is to see them first so I can assess its quality. I believe the site is legitimate. Wish me luck. How about you guys? What do you of purchasing goods online?

Selling bags online would be okay. But for clothes, your customer will not get their exact size since they don't see your product in person.

I think selling clothes is fine. You'll just have to make sure you have different sizes for your customer to choose from, and don't just have one picture. It would be best if you had multiple pictures to ensure your customer that they are choosing the right one. I buy clothes online all the time; a lot of times, it's much cheaper, and because I know my size, I usually pick the right one. I'm sure the customers won't see it as too big of an issue, but you'll have to make sure you can provide them with different sizes. Happy mylotting!

Well the clothes are in free size. So i don't think it will be problem. And there is specifications and measurements included with each product.

I think it is. I order stuff from Amazon quite often. Good luck... but I wonder if you will be able to sell your product effectively. People are always looking for deals, and if they can get stuff cheaper from Ebay or Amazon than from you, you might be stuck with product you can't sell. I'm kind of wondering the same thing for myself, but my own fears of this stops me. I am thinking of buying stuff at auctions and flea markets and then sell them on Ebay. Still, I'm thinking I will be stuck with the product and out of money. I wish you luck.. you are braver than me.

it really depends on the site and i never buy things online in bulk as well... i only buy from the sites that i really trust and have good reputation... i wouldn't dare to take a risk like you to purchase stuffs online and sell them online again... i think it is just too risky... anyway, this is just my opinion... take care and have a nice day...

Sunnystarfish, What I would suggest you do is try to get in contact with the owners of the shop. Try to email them; if you can call them, even better. See if you can get to know them a little better, get to know their products a little better, to be sure of your purchases. That way, you won't have to worry or anything. They may be able to show you more pictures, if the company is small and willing to work personally with customers. I personally do some shopping online. Amazon is one of the websites I trust, some well known clothes brands, and occasionally Ebay. But I never go on any sites that I have never heard of, because I know people who have been ripped off before. Best of luck to your store, and happy mylotting!

Thanks. Actually, i did email them. I asked questions about how much the shipping will be. Details such as those. If there are lots of resellers too. And they reluctantly answer my questions. There was a time i even talked with a fellow Filipino. So i guess it is legitimate. Thanks a lot.

Well i think now that you have placed a order of goods on online i think you should had purchased some samples online check the quality and so on, also have you researched about the site that it is legitimate or no what if it comes out to be scam, you should have taken all these things into consideration, before planning for a purchase of goods online, well now dont worry just trust the site, see if you can reduce your order of goods, because there can be lot of shipping problems, Also there is no need to worry if you have purchased something on internet and you have received this will boost your confidence in online goods, also apart from that i never purchased goods online, the only reason is security i stay in India and it becomes very risky to ship goods online having no guarantee of receiving it back. Anyways good luck with your business.

Well, I haven't purchased yet. But I am willing to take the risk. Looks like it is a legitimate site as well. I will start with 10 pieces to see the quality of their products.

You should ask for samples up front, tag them for the quality, and make it clear to the supplier that you will be comparing the supplied material with the original samples, and you will not pay unless you are satisfied with the quality.

Hi ramp123, I don't think the supplier will allow that. Well, I will just take the risk and see what will happen. Thanks for your advise.

Hey there sunnystarfish! Wow! That's pretty awesome! I once put up an online shop and got my merchandise sold out. I sold accessories, mostly bracelets though it took me a long time before I sell most of it. I think online shops are pretty good. A lot of people are too busy to go out to malls and buy sme stuff. others nowadays prefer to buy online especially in the US. Well! I wish you luck with your business! Have a nice day!

First, you need to know who you are dealing with. And that person must be reliable and must have good reputation. There are a lot of scammers. So you got to be very careful in making deals. Its easy to shop online if the amount involve is not too large.

Hi carsocmaguinsay, Thanks. I will purchase most likely 10-15 pieces of both clothes and bags. Well every business has its own risk. I will really look into it so every thing will be fine.

i never opt for purchasing onlin because atleast that gives me chance to go out on shopping and burn some calories.. also i believe that products purchased online will not give satisfaction as much we get when we buy on our own. yet your idea of putting an online shop is good because most of the people are opting for easy way to do things.. be genuine when u sell and buy the goods. all the best

well i agree with you. It is an unexplainable feeling when you go to stores and fit some clothes and shoes. It's a good feeling. I just figured this out because i like clothes and bags so much. So why not make business about it.

I would ask for a sample of before buying in bulk. You don't want to get stuck with 100 dresses that are of bad quality and probably won't sell.. I've never bought anything in bulk online to sell on an online shop, I just sell my own goods so I'm not familiar. :/ Good luck to you!

Thanks. I am planning to order one item per design. More like 10 to 15 pieces only. Just to see the quality of their products. In case I can't sell it. I can probably use the porducts I purchased :)

I used to buy books online. I think i very satisfied with the books they delivered to me. Besides that, i used to buy clothes online also. However, i am a little bit disappointed when i received the stock as the size is a free size, some are too big and some are too small. Therefore, i will be more be careful when i wanna buy clothes online.
