There are some things that drive me crazy about my husband like everyone else I'm sure. My husband spends WAY too long in the store, I can get the same thing he went in for and I can be out in 5 minutes when he takes an hour.
My husband also spends WAY to long in the bathroom. Is that just a guy thing? Anyway, he also has a habit of telling me he will be home in five minutes and really it's an hour. I'm used to it now but it drove me crazy for a long time.
So what are some things about your spouse that drive you up the wall? Why does it drive you crazy? All thoughts here...=)

I guess it drives crazy for us ladies because we have more responsibilities or errands to do. We are much conscious of our time frame because we don't want to spend our time just doing one thing. As much as possible we want to finish all of our tasks on time or even ahead of time while for them all they can think is time for themselves. Just like a mother doing the laundry at the same time cooking or even finishing up the dishes while babysitting. Even if you are used to, sometimes it kinda hard to deal with.

I agree that's what it is. It's annoying that I can do a million things and still have time to spare and he cannot do one thing in a timely manner! Good point, I totally agree. =)

Let's not be so generally speaking, that all women can do thousands of things and still have time, while men only have time for themselves.
As a man who does housework and cooks, as a man who supports and trusts his girlfriend and will do the shopping too, I am hurt from your opinions.
You could have chosen a better spouse if everything annoys you.

I don't really know if your talking to me or cheatedaphrodite but I love my husband despite his flaws. I can go on forever with my flaws as well. I'm sure it was not directed at all men. I was speaking in a general sense that most men don't do much around the house or take care of the kids. If you do, that's great! Your girlfriend found one in a million. Good for her! =) Not everything annoys me about my husband either.
I have said in other conversations that my husband is the most giving man I have ever met in my life. He is also very funny and can be very sweet. This whole discussion was about our spouse's quirks. Nothing was personal, it was a fun discussion...Well it was anyway...

LMB - Don't take it seriously. Most men do this. They prefer to stay away from the humdrum of every day life and do their own thing. Sometimes they avoid being with their spouse even though all is well between them.

Fun did you say? But you have put your topic under 'relationships'

So? Some relationships are fun. And yes this was a fun discussion, not so serious...

This was SUPPOSED to be a fun discussion but apparently everyone else is taking it very seriously. It was fun, everyone has a quirk that they don't like about their spouse. My husband would say I cry WAY to much, I do it's okay I know that already. My husband wouldn't be mad if he read what I wrote because he knows I love him. =)
Have a nice day.

There is nothing that annoys me that much on my spouse, in most things we share same views and we do not argue.
I am sure, however, you have heard of women who stay for hours in a clothing store trying clothes one after another. You might even be one of them...Right? But that doesn't affect you, it's only your husband who is the one affected on time issues, right?
I will tell you something however. Genders differences are not so standard that you will all generalize that men are the worthless people who cannot do many things at once and only have time for themselves. These generalizations are only made for the cheap magazines (but who's reading those...oh wait I know, women).
When i say I will be somewhere in 10 minutes, I am there in 5. When my girl says she will meet me at 8pm, she is there at 7.55.
When I go shopping I am done long before my mother still checks the price tags.
You can always discuss with him and tell him that you are asking for things urgently when you send him to shop. Shop along with him, show him how to do it the fast way. Guide him to the tricks of shopping, not all men know it.
Just discuss with him...
But let's not generalize - Better this way, right?

Well my post was not only towards you, but towards all responder. Indeed, most of what is posted annoyed me a bit.
I do know not all men help with housework and shopping, and actually I know only few do so. But I think those few should not be included with those who don't. That is why giving standard statements, as if all people are same, is not to my liking much.
I do say same and express my disagreement when men geenralize women as being "not fun" or as being "crazy with shopping" or whatever. Not all women are same, not all men are same. All of us are special in a way :)
The discussion is still fun, don't worry. MyLot is about discussions and communication, and there is no communication without some kind of argument, it's normal.

Actually I HATE shopping. I'm not the usual woman I guess but yeah I really don't like shopping at all what so ever!
And if you have the perfect relationship that is so great but most people don't even come close to having a perfect relationship.
I wish I did though. I am not generalizing that's why I asked everyone's opinion and asked everyone what little quirks about their spouse that bug them.
I was asking for opinions, I never said ALL men were anything. LOL I'm sure there's something about your spouse that get's on your nerves now and then. This was supposed to be a fun discussion...

OKay I'm glad it wasn't only towards me but I think everyone else was just having fun or most people were.
I was talking about MY husband, nobody else! So, I'm not really sure where you got the whole generalizing from but it's cool...
Have a nice day =)

Have you asked your husband, what is it that takes him too long in the store? I would also feel the same if my husband is like that. I would really investigate him for it.
But as to using the bathroom , well, my husband only takes 10 minutes at the most in it when he takes a bath. I would always laugh at him for being so speedy.

Perhaps you could suggest to him that he go to the bathroom, just when he feels like having to have it already. Besides, it's not healthy to force yourself into having it, when it's still not due. It could lead to hemorrhoid.

It's not just in the store. He is just naturally a type of person who takes his time with everything. He takes the saying Slow and Steady wins the race a little to literal, lol.
As for the bathroom, he takes forever using the bathroom. As in having a bowel movement.

Hey I'm not married yet but felt like responding here coz I have the habits as your hubby . When I go for shopping for groceries, I take too long too. That's coz I want to look around and see if there are new things I could try. And actually I take a long time in the bathroom too . I don't know why but I just start daydreaming I guess but yeah I'll never know how quickly time passes by and then I have to rush to school .

Yeah my husband is VERY messy too and then hates it when the house is a mess...Um excuse me? Your the one who made it that way so get over it, you know? He does stay and shop FOREVER! He looks at EVERYTHING that we do NOT even need most of the time. It drives me crazy!

It has been my experence that men tend to be conplusive liers especially if they want to avoid an argument. Mine doesn't like conflict or fighting, but yet he's very good at lying. Now spending too long in the bathroom that's a new one. I really have yet to meet a man who takes a while in the bathroom. Being a woman, I don't really take all that long. I only stay as long as I'm comfortable.
When it comes to shopping, George usually doesn't like to spend more time in a store then he absoultly has to. When we grocery shop we're in the store about an hour, but the actually shopping doesn't always take half as long. Waiting in line does. But, if I have to send George to the store he's usually yapping at me on his phone. So I can usually estamate how long he's in there based on my call records.
Good luck with yours, I'm sorry you find those things annoying. At least hopefully you aren't watching him make one bad choice after another thinking he has things under control when clearly he doesn't.

I'm sorry =( The only big thing my husband has lied to me about is that he will have the rent when it's due and last month the day before he said he didn't make enough to pay it so I had to pay the whole thing by myself. It was a really big deal to me at the time but I have tried to let it go.
Most women love to shop but I am the opposite, I hate it actually. He looks at everything we don't even need! LOL
I do find it annoying but I love him so I deal with it. He finds me annoying with my emotions. He says I cry way too much (which in a man's eye's I guess I do). I'm not afraid to admit it. He'll tell you too that he does take way too long in a store...LOL

Hah, that is too funny, my husband is exactly the same way! I think he just has a terrible sense of time. He loves to go grocery shopping and could spend an hour there...so most of the time I just let him go by himself now because I am way too impatient for that! I don't know if it's a guy thing or what but I feel your pain! LOL

That's funny! I didn't think most men are like that but apparently more are than I realized. LOL My husband just has to look at everything whether we need it or not. He will spend forever at Walmart and come out with nearly nothing! It's crazy! It's gotta be a guy thing that I never knew about until now! =)
