Do you think internet brings more harm then good?

Welcome! I think you are correct to some degree. The Internet is an asset for research and communication. It's not exactly free though. I pay a monthly fee and I'm sure you do too. It's probably cheaper than a long distance phone call, though. I would much rather chat here. Sometimes it's great to hear a friend voice on the end. I do believe the Internet is used for inappropriate activities. You hear numerous incidences where someone has contacted a young person via the Internet and the they hook up somewhere. Not a good thing if you ask me. They do need to figure out how to stop that. It's not always safe to let your children manage their own accounts. If we didn't have wackos in the world, it would be a lot safer place altogether. Best Wishes!

Hi alvanloh, it depends on how we use it. If we access internet for acquiring info, knowledge, doing legal business, amusing, keeping in touch with people, as well as whatever which are beneficial to us. Internet is essential access for me to deal with so many tasks in my every day schedule. I would be handicapped and depressed if facing network interruption With the convenience of internet countless of stuffs in different aspects which seem to be complicated before could be accomplished within a short while online easily and rapidly I enjoy working on pc and listening to my favorite music at the same time using only a single device only. It's sure that if we indulge in internet without controlling the time spending in playing games, gaming, watching movies, etc until wee hours. Do so is not good for our health certainly. In my opinion it kind of depends on how you look at what actually goes into the internet. As far as production and creating the tools we have manifested to access the internet, obviously there is harm happening to the world. The factories and plants that are mass producing this kind of technology are obviously spewing some kind of toxic waste into the air and other places as well too unfortunately. The overall parts it takes to make up a computer also aren't great for the enviornment and when we are throwing these old pieces of technology into landfills and other garbage piles they are leaking toxic residue from the chemicals and materials that they are made up of. However when you look at the internet from just accessing it and reaping the benefits of it, internet is obviously a magnificent wonder and tool. You can do so many things on the internet and I think that we are going to continue to find more and more uses from it. It was only a year or two ago that I discovered mylot and online earning and now not only can I get in contact with virtually any information I want in the world but I can also earn some money to try and help benefit my life. We can also be connected with one another world wide and I think that is a huge step for the bringing together of mankind.

Good day Alvanloh, A nice topic to discuss. You are indeed right, internet is an asset. However, it is also a liability. Wherein everybody must be responsible in using this facility. As this will make or break someone if he/she use the facility especially in wrong way. As we sometimes heard, there are also some instances happened over the internet that causes damage and trouble to others. Nevertheless, as long as we know that we are using it responsibly, no harmful effect can bring it to us.

I agreed with you that internet has provide a huge step for globalization. As we know, we can get any information, connect to people from other country in seconds, having business online, i think it brings more good than harm. However, it depends on the people using it, if you abuse it, certainly, it'll bring more harm than good.
