My boss has been too busy today to give me any work. I have finished all my pending work in office and am having a gala time here on mylot. Have posted one discussion this morning and this is the second one today. Hope he remains busy the whole day so that I can clean my inbox and reply to all the notifications pending there. Do you too get such opportunities from office?

I am also glad you don't work for me. I wouldn't want to be paying you for doing nothing. I am a business owner and if I saw one of my girls on the internet instead of working I would be irrate. I am not a mean boss but I am paying you to work for me, not for your enjoyment. I am not trying to scold you but I wouldn't want it to be me, is all I am saying. I have heard many times that employees waste a lot of employers time because they are on the internet. I have been an employee but I never abused my position and never would, but that is just me. Cheers and happy mylotting my friend Chris

That's good. I mentioned this discussion to one of my friends I had a coffee with today and she agreed with me in saying that she gets pretty upset if she catches one of her girls on the internet doing anything personal on company time as she is also a business owner. She said she has 6 girls in her office and if each one did anything personal on the internet for half an hour a day that would be 3 hours of wasted time.

I too am glad that I am not working for you. lol. Actually this discussion was started when I did not have a computer at home and the only chance I got to mylot was from office. And this was only done in my spare time. I work as a Secretary and if my boss does not allot any work to me then I have nothing to do. So in my spare time I would surf the net for work related matters and simultaneously check my emails and also mylot. Now that I have a net at home I hardly do my personal work in Office.

Yes, of course! What would office be without such spells of ‘boredom’ LOL…most of the time, I just hope my boss keeps busy with his myriad engagements. On some days though, I just don’t have the time to breathe…let alone mylot! I just hate such days..don’t you? I just wonder what did people like us do before computers and mylot??? You know, you cant be at the canteen or coffee machine all the time, neither can you sit at your desk leafing thru mags…at least with the computer and net and mylot, I can go on typing furiously and people around me think I’m doing a lot of work LOL

All of us hate work in the office. I too have days when I cannot even think of mylotting. But just now my boss is out of the country and I am enjoying my holiday in the office...busy mylotting for most part of the day. Isn't that just great???

Lucky you! I wish my boss was that way when I was working...lol My boss would make sure that I had enough work to keep me from taking a breather...and anyways I couldn't mylot at work even if I was free.

My boss was actually getting ready for his month long trip. So he was having meetings with all heads of departments. And I had finished whatever work was given to me. And he did not have time to give me more work.

Well, this is a treat for you. I don't work in an office any more but if I did that would be a treat for me too. Now it's if my health allows me and yes, it is today. So I'm happy about that.

Oh honey, even though you have to go off line every few minutes you still get to do as you want to a little bit. I know going off line so much is frustrating hopefully that will be fixed soon. I have several health issues. I have something going on with my heart now and seizers and a few other things that keep me down at times but I'm a touch person. I'll stick it out. Thanks for asking.

What is it about your health? Hope you are okay now. Yes today has been a treat for me. But unfortunately there is some work going on in our computer system and so am going off line every few minutes. Cannot be online as much as I would want to.

Wow! Great news, then mayka. It's good that your office allows you to log in to other non-work related sites. Most offices ban them.

Our work requires us to be checking stuff online every now and then. And besides that my boss himself has a facebook account and he logs in everyday. Mylot and other stuff is done on the sly and nobody around knows about this.

Nice friend and you are lucky that your boss is given the permission for other work. Say thanks to boss. Really he is nice men. Otherwise if in other office we are doing some other work they will say left the office. But your office and office owner both are good.

Permission??? Who says I have got permission...I am only ensuring that I do not get caught. My boss is not at all good. He is not aware of what I am doing on my computer. The day he comes to know I will be fired.

Ohhh your boss is not know about this and when he will fire on you if he know about it. So friend take care otherwise boss will be angry on you.

That is an amazing opportunity for you, because obviously your boss will still have to pay you for the amount of time that you have been sat in the office making even more money for yourself. When I had an office job I used to use MyLot a fair bit, however all non-business related websites were soon blocked because people were wasting their time when they should have been working instead. But I work from home now and spend most of my day either writing articles or, when I am waiting to hear back from the publisher about whether my article was good enough, I will post here on MyLot before I begin to write my next article.

Yes it is am amazing opportunity because I am being paid by my boss and also by mylot. And there is guaranteed payment from both. Luckily sites are not blocked in my office or else I would not be able to come on mylot.

Yeah, since our company will be dissolved end of this July. I don't have that much jobs anymore. But then my boss's room is facing my monitor so I can't be seen online all the time. Well, eventhough we will leave this office I still somewhat feel bad if I am seen checking out my facebook all the time. :_)

It is difficult to be online when your boss can see the monitor. I too have a problem everytime someone passes by. So I just minimize the screen then. Luckily till now we have not had a problem checking any oneline sites. And am online for official work most of the day so do get to peep into facebook and mylot sometimes.

Nice day you have mayka. Me too. I have been on mylot the whole day. I'm working 9-6pm, but today I don't have to teach, so I'm free to do my own things. My cubicle facing my boss' door, I post a piece of quotes on my glass partition so she can't see my face directly. Though if she saw it, she had no idea what's on my screen. I might just look as hard working and committed as others. Haha. I love my job =)

My problem is everyone who passes my way can see what I do. So I have to minimize the window when I see someone approaching. Have requested for another table and when that happens I would probably get more time here on mylot. You have a good way of hiding your screen from your boss!!!!

Working for oneself has its negative and positive points. I too once worked for myself. I was happy then. Now I am working for others and enjoying too.

My boss is out of town today and will be be back by Friday morning. But still i have some works to do - checks to verify , requests to approve, oversee & approve the drivers on their trips . But still, i can have them finished in my own time. Nice to work ,without the boss peeking in you once in a while.

My Boss even if he's not around, i can't have a happy time, hahaha, he is strict, and you have to keep yourself busy all the time, but not that busy not to allow to check sites, i transact business via net, forward communications via net, i am glad he's not a techie person, he not that knowledgeable about things on the net, except facebook but not from its very detail, just the name, and he's busy minding a business like that, haha, sometimes he said, as long as you finished the job assigned for you, it's your conscience how to spend the remaining time you are paid for...hahaha..

Hi mayka123! I think that happens sometimes in the office where things are light. But there are also heavy days, you know, and sometimes even harder. When things are lighter and less stressful in the office, i think there is mylot that is waiting for you to check in hahaha. Enjoy your day!

Yes things are pretty light today. But the only problem is the engineer is working on the computer and changing some systems due to which the internet is going off every now and then. So am getting cut off from the new every few minutes. That is spoiling the fun for me.

There was a time I had extra time but it was because of bad weather. I use my time to take naps. I've been through bad weather before but when it extends for long periods and whatever you could has been done, naps or music is good. Eating is fun too. I'm glad you have a job. I wish I had a job. I do anything almost for a job. Take care and God bless.

Too bad you do not have a full time job. What is the reason? I am lucky enough to be having a job now and still more lucky that I am able to make a few extra bucks online during work hours.

Well good for you! Take advantage of that free time and don't you ever let your Boss catch you. You are fortunate for you have free access to internet and can do things on the computer which are not related to your job. Just don't abuse this opportunity. Just keep praying and wishing that you Boss gets to busy always so you can stay here longer everyday

I am taking full advantage of my free time. Am free most of this week and the next. So will try and update myself as much as possible with my notifications that are piling up in my inbox. My boss is now out of town for the next two weeks so hope I will be able to clear my inbox till then.
