Apathetic.

Lately it seems I've become so desensitized to things. It's like nothing really surprises me anymore and even some of the terrible things don't phase me. I've just become so apathetic towards everything, that I nearly don't do anything anymore. I haven't left the house on my own will in quite awhile now. I have no urges to do anything (besides the primitive ones). I'm not depressed or anything, I just don't care.
I'd almost rather stay in my room, listen to music, and never have to leave.
What's wrong with me?

Apathetic or feeling numb to certain things out of life? I say this because I too have experienced similar thing as you mentioned. I have gone through a great deal of ups and downs in life and find for me that I have been sort of numb with life. It is like unless I really have to I preferred not to go anywhere. I do not hate, dislike and or care too much at times, as if whatever comes it will pass but the interim I must allow the time for the changes to take place on their own.
I do know that for me it is bouts of depression that I experience from time to time. I could actually say I did not care for much, but not entirely as I do care it is just lapses in my life that cause me to feel as though, I am mentally exhausted.

If you do not talk about the state of apathy associated with neurological, psychiatric or somatic, apathy is the state of human soul in which our being, disappointed, burdened by repeated failures beyond the despair, the suffering, pain and no longer has the power to hope, to want to and propose goals for which to climb, for which to fight, if we accept that life is a struggle. An apathetic does not want anything actually has no physical strength to you something, he reached a level where we leave the spiritual powers, such a man lying in bed literally, at his home, not has no ability to enjoy friends, or so to remember the enemies. He vegetate waiting, why? He does not know. I see apathy as a final result of a series of failures, because life happens to have part of it, have you suffer, but at some point all collapse, unable to endure, the human soul becomes indifferent, it is indeed , a form of self-protection.
Maybe I should add that apathy was considered sometime in the ancient Greek state as a voluntary, adopted by some Stoic philosophers and skeptics as it deems wise ideal condition became insensitive to pain or pleasure, devoid of passion. Apathy lately has lost its value about philosophical, instead increasing its pathological side. Apathy can be severe, and become superficial as we disappointed all and all, before the elections, with results as, of course. Are apathetic, apathetic choose: that is indifferent to the needs of the country! Only well.

It is getting used to something for a long time that makes one apathetic. I no longer like to attend functions and parties and if I also like you, stop stepping out it will happen to me as well. But if you are happy with your status in life stick to what you are doing and if as you say you have become apathetic towards everything good and bad its your choice as long as let me repeat as long as by so doing you are not depriving anyone else who so needs you and that let me say could be the only reason why you should step out of your shell and becomes less apathetic.

Sounds to me like you are depressed. Not wanting to leave your room is a classic sign. Great to see you appreciate The Beatles and I hope you take the time to move onto Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Here is a favourite of mine, and I hope yours!
