If life had a reset button would you abuse it?

There are a lot of mistakes in life, some of them rather big and damaging. There have been times where people I have known remarked that they wish they had a reset or a rewind button. A good idea in theory but one that is up for a lot of abuse. We really do learn from our mistakes and allowing us a chance to reset that all, not really all that good of an idea. Still it would be a temptation to reset or rewind over things to redo if we had such a button. I'd like to think that I wouldn't abuse it but you just never know.

If life has a "reset" button I'll probably abuse it. I've been making a lot of mistakes lately that I think I need that button. Or at least "rewind" would work for me.

Yep. It would also work great during exams, especially those that you didn't study on.

I think that either button would really work a good deal for many people. There are just a lot of people who would like to try again if they had messed up to a huge extent. Of course there are times where we might think that we messed up more badly than we thought. Things do seem a lot worse when they do happen, then when we have had time to think about it. Well not always, but the benefit of hindsight is a wonderful. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Well if that's the case, I would be pressing it multiple times for sure..But to come back to reality the mistakes are done to learn from it and correct it so that we don't make the same mistakes again. But on the other hand it would be very nice to have a button on the side just in case...

I do concede that there would be times that it would be nice to have for sure. At the very least, there are going to be a lot of things that happen where we are going to really just blunder big time. Still we just got to try and figure out what we need to learn. Even the grandest failure can really be a success in a number of ways and that is just something that goes along with life. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think you'd really know if you won't abuse the reset button based on how your attitude is when playing a game with a reset button. If you tend to push it or do the undo button a lot of times, perhaps you have the tendency to do so. However, I think it's different when it comes to life, we can't really spend a perfect life (a life customized by us). It would be too boring.
But I know myself, I think I would abuse it. Further, I wouldn't learn from my mistakes because I'm sure that I could just push undo or reset each time the consequence of my actions isn't something that I'd like.
Have a great MyLot experience today.

That is actually a pretty good analogy and one that I would agree with. Those who play a video game and when they are about ready to get put in a tight spot, hitting the reset button would tell you everything that you need to know. There are going to be consequences in life. Life is the furthest thing from perfect, we just got to do the best we can with the cards that life has dealt us and those can be some wicked ones. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

That is really a part of life in many ways. There are times where a chapter of our life is really something that looks a lot better in hindsight. And there are some rather good times, don't get me wrong. However, there are a lot of time where we are going to really have some enjoyment. Still there could be reasons why we want to relieve that. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I have done many grave mistakes in life.Because of these mistakes my life is a messed up now.If my life had a reset button then i would have abused it so that i could undo what i did in order to improve my life. But i know it is not possible.

Mistakes do tend to be made by even the best of us. Sometimes we do wish we had that sinful button right in our hands, as we are going to really have a lot of times where we really would feel sorely tempted. Perhaps it would improve our lives in the end but perhaps it would pull us into a much more deeper hole. In the end, there is no way to truthfully figure out what might occur or what consequences there would be from spamming the reset button. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes, I would definitely use it but only once. As it is life has been good to me, no major grudge but I really resent the fact that I was not matured enough to continue my studies and go for a good stable job. Just after college, I was in a rush to get a job and then once I started earning, I really never gave it a thought to go for better jobs or govt sector or teaching sector. Now when I have my family, I really feel so much stressed out and a govt job or a teaching job would have given me so much free time to spend with my family..I really rue that missed opportunity

See there are times where it can be justified in many ways. Of course there is that slippery slope that exists with anything. There are going to be a lot of times where we wish we can do it over, just once, but there is always a chance that we can really make a bigger mess out of things. We never really do know what might happen until it actually does happen. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I am sure many people would have used such a thing countless times. There are a lot of times where people are going to be tempted. Now whether or not it is something that we really should use, that is another matter entirely. Still there are a lot of people who are really going to use a reset button if they had the chance and countless times at that. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Given the chance that we have a reset button, i would certainly use it to correct some stupid little things that i have done. However, for those problems that made me stronger and wiser, i wouldn't.
I would just let it be and learn my lessons from it.

The lessons that we learn in life are rather important to really important to growing us into the people that we are going to come. There are going to be many times where we are going to have one of those itchy little trigger fingers that really tends to be tempted to use this thing, this reset button to help change our life in many ways. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Very interesting. There are a lot of things that mistakes can be made for in life. Life is tend to be full of mistakes. However, there are going to be many times where we need to embrace those mistakes. To allow us to move forward, to a certain part of life that will allow us clarity and the ability to really understand what we are doing. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice response.

Perhaps you will, perhaps you won't. Naturally I think that for those who do such a thing, there would be some different variable that caused the mistake or the errors or the problem that exist to that. Perhaps it will get right after a lot of the time or there will be a lot of times where it is really get put into a rather deeper hole. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes, we all do make huge mistakes in our lives at times. And I know there have been many times when I definitely would have used a reset button if there was one! But I think its a dangerous thing to have - as you say, it will definitely be abused. It would mean that no one would ever make a single mistake in their lives and therefore no one would ever be able to grow or learn at all. I think it would be quite a boring world and people's personalities would not be developed or grown at all! So I'm quite glad that in reality you have to learn from the consequences of both your own and other's mistakes!

That really is the point in a nutshell. It would be a boring world if we could just change everything. Now granted there are some times where we make some rather mortifying mistakes to say the very least. However, again that is just one of those parts that help us move forward. How we find a way to rebound, to bounce back from a situation, that is a true measure of a person. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

If life has a reset button, I won't abuse it. I will just select those moments that caused a major damage in my life because if ever I'll reset and reset from time to time, I wouldn't be as strong as I am today. We also need to commit and face the consequences of our mistakes for us to be able to fight for future events. :) Life is what we make it. :D

Extremely true one hundred percent of the way. Life is really what we make it a lot of the time. There are going to be times where we are going to get in a situation that is really not the best. However that is just something that is a part of life. When we work out of said situation and force ourselves to adapt and improve, we are going to be a lot better for that fact. We are much better people in a way. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I really do think that is the smartest thing to do. Struggles are really something that are a part of life to say the very least. We would be looking for the cheapest way out to say the very least. There are going to be a lot of times where we are going be frustrated, but hey that's life. Not to mention the fact that we might find ourselves in a far worse fix. Just something to think about. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

No I wouldn't use it. I believe in fate and that the life of each individual was destined to be like this. Sometimes small and big mistakes are needed so you can choose a specific route or path in life. there's no regret in my life and i live my head high :)

There are many lessons to learn in life. If something happens, just roll with it. Plus there are times where we need to really learn a lesson due to a rather big shock in life. If we do not really have that big shock in life, then we are not really going to do all that good to say the very least. So there are things that are needed for certain to help elevate us through life. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

There would be some times where a reset button would be really useful.. I've been through a lot of those. Like those really embarrassing moments you dont want to remember lol. I think that would be a good reason to reset and avoid the situation. But if it's something like a real mistake you made then yeah I think you need to learn from it rather than just go back and do it again the right way. That's how you're supposed to learn anyways.

We really do have many of those moments like that. The moments that we want to crawl into a hole and hide for the rest of our lives. Therefore the demand of something like this can be very tempting to say the very least. However, in the end, how will we ever learn? With something like this, you just cannot learn. That's all that there is to it. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I have to say that I would use that button- just once. That once would have changed my entire life though. But if I had to do it again I certainly would use it. I wouldn't have the kids I do now and I probably would have served some jail time. But I would have had an extra 20 years with my soul-mate.

I think that there are times where some people are going to do it just once. Or at least strongly consider thinking about it just once. Of course, given the nature of life and the nature of this world, you just never really know what might happen. Things could be far better, things could be worse, or things could turn out about evenly. This is one of the fatal flaws of a reset button in life. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Though I would not change a great many things in my life, you have given me something to think about here. Yes I would reset a few occurrences in my life but don't think I would abuse the reset though as I feel that playing with fate can be scarry and or dangerous. There are certain things in life I feel that happen for a reason, whether we like them or not and changing one area, or happening means history as we know it further changes, therefore, changing one means a lot of the good things may suffer because of it.

Yeah there is the butterfly effect for sure. We might change a certain thing but rather than one bad thing happening, we could cause about four or five to happen. We try and rest again and we could be up to about six or seven or somewhere about that. The lessons in life are something that are grand and if there was a reset button, there are a lot of times where people are going to not understand that they should. So many consequences. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think I should reset it a multiple times just to make sure my mistakes before will be able to replace with good ones.I will do my best that it will not happen again in the future. But we have no choice it already happen and we have to move on. Mistakes in our life happens all the time and no one is excused for it. But it is up to us if we will change it for better or worst.

Very true information. Mistakes are rather something that are a huge part of our lives. There are going to be a lot of times where we make our mistakes and it could rather be some bad news. However it is really not something that is the end of the world. In fact, the mistakes are going to make us really grow forward as a better person and life will be rather good. That is just what is the nature of life. Doing a reset on life might change it but it could have consequences. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

It depends, with no knowledge of what happened that made us go into the past, to me, it's rather pointless, because we could be doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
If we could, somehow, retain the knowledge, then well... Of course :D
Not because I don't like what I have now, but having the opportunity to explore the thousands of different ways you could do something, it really makes my imagination go to full power. The thing is, we could have a little problem with finding the perfect decisions, always thinking that something could have be done better, and that would pose a problem. We could be so lost in the past that the future never comes...

Retaining what you learned would be a sticking point for many regarding this I would think. Let's assume that part is there. Naturally however there are going to be a lot of times where the right answer is going to be learned and we are going really going to come away from that. We might think we might be able to do better but we could come out doing worse. That is a huge problem too with something like that in many ways. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
