.. do something and you can somehow control it, would you allow your child (12-14 years old, boy or girl) to become emo ? Note: What is emo ? Read here (scroll) - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=emo

Hmmmmmmmmmmm............. interesting question. For me, if my child had some kind of talent, I would register him or her in some sort of classes so that they can gain more understanding about what they were planning to get into. A child at the tender age of 12-14 don`t quite understand the outcome of their choices and we as parents are there to help them. If my child at this age wanted to become an emo, I would take them to some place that allows them to act (drama or dance)class and see if he or she likes the art and then proceed from there.

Yo, tiwari. Is true that this is far more of a deep debate than looks like at first view. Here's why: Like it or not, emo style is just like few more other life style we have started to promote we, the human kind. There are ecologists, there are religious extremists, there are outlaws and .. among others, there are emos. As close to deepest idea of what is emo, is the fact they are the most related with gothics, just kinda opposite: Emos hate themselves Goths hate everyone Emos want to kill themselves Goths want to kill everyone Isn't that scary? Are you sure you are so open minded that you can respect child choice for his future, to go for this ?

I agree with you tiwari completely. It seems to be human's first response to rebel agains what they are told not to do. It all started from Adam and Eve lol. When you put a possative outlook on something negative there is a better chance of it just being a phase rather than a way of life. :)

Let me say my opinion Emo people are the depressed for some different reasons Emo kid usually came from a brokenhome family and can't get enough parental attention And some of them are the brokenhearted emo generally is a type of subculture like punk, goth, or some other and they're have their own music that contains depressive lyrics, the anger, and the sadness and emos usually cut themselves and cry a lot

I can see where some emo kids come from broken homes, but when I was in highschool, it was more of the social outcast. They didn't fit in with anyone so they all kind of formed a group together. So I wouldn't narrow it down to one reason that kids decide to go with the "emo style." I'm sure there are many reasons for it. I knew some of these kids outside of school as well. Some of them had fine home lives.
