she quit on myLOT on her second day!

I referred a friend here in myLOT because I know we share the same passion of a) making money online (no matter how small it is), and b) posting/sharing discussions and receiving relevant comments (this makes us happy). But shortly, after 2 days she is already complaining that she is not earning much here. What?! myLOT is not a I'll-get-rich-in-2-days scheme! You won't make a lot of dollars here, I told her. You got to have fun first because this site is mostly about creating connections with other people, learning from them and earning on the side. I gave her some tips/suggestions to increase her income because I respect her desire to earn more - try to login everyday, at least write 2-3 significant discussions a day, respond/comment on fellow myLotters' discussions, follow-up on the discussions you started and give honest rating. I even advised her to install CashGopher. But our attitude will always speak for us. She told me, "when I log in the first thing I check is that dollar earning on top of the screen and I'm not earning!!!" For the last time, I told her that earnings are not credited on a real-time basis (this doesn't convince her either). Anyway, I quit on her. I have so much to do in a day and I find it "toxic" convincing someone who doesn't make sense (oops, don't worry, it's safe to say this now because she will never use her account again, she told me). I understand her, at least I try to. I used to be like her. I often tell myself before that if I don't get something in return I will quit - and I apply this attitude with my friends, family, personal relationships, job/career, investments, even with some books that I read, etc. My mind is set that if I don't benefit on something, I will throw it away because it's useless. And who knows what could have been if I stick a little longer, right?

I think many people quit because they want results and they want them NOW!!! I am glad I stuck around because in my situation every little bit helps..Now I am not making as much as I did before my computer crashed a couple years ago, but I had more time then, plus though I hate to admit it, but I am sure I posted discussions that were against the guidelines and back then posts were not reported and so I as well as other got away with it..I also didn't really do it on purpose, as I try to be honest, but I also wasn't into memorizing the rules, but now I have no excuse with many people here who post up what the rules are and we discuss the rules. I am more clear now, but I still wouldn't leave mylot, because I made too many good friends and I love discussing, learning and teaching about all kinds of tips and ideas to make life easier..

hi carmelanirel, how are you doing? thanks for your reply. i haven't had the time to respond to this discussion at all. i had a busy week. yes, i believe too many people quit on the onset. they want results but are not willing to participate or exert any effort at all. anyway, it's her loss, not mine. i just introduced the site to her because i believed she is someone like me who would enjoy connecting with other people.

Hi Katz, (Have I ever told you how I love your username??) I am doing better; I have made the decision to find a tutor for math so I can have some peace of mind when I go in to take my exams.. As for your friend, in a way it is her lose, but also your..If she was your referral and became active here, you would have benefited from it. But I wouldn't worry about it, I have 17 referrals, and only one that i8s occasionally active and I am doing well and having fun here...

Hi there :) My real name is Kat, my username is a combination of my name and my bf's name which is Zar (and 0712 is our anniversary date, haha :)) When I started here, I thought having more referrals will do the trick, but it turned out otherwise so I stopped referring. hehe. I am also having so much fun. :) Good luck to your Math exams Carmel ^^ - Kat

I have had 3 referrals till now on MyLot, but they haven't been active at all. So I guess the majority of people think that these sites have to bring hundreds of dollars per day to be worth to be active. But nothing is like that, we need to work hard in order to make lots of money, no matter if the work is online or offline.

I think you should write a contact ticket and maybe the admin will tell you how you have gotten here. I think this is the only way to track your way in.

nice thought. i got a new referral recently. i hope he does a good job (kidding! ^^) i realized i don't have to rely on them (my referrals). i wonder though if i was referred here myself... i cannot recall how i got to the site... is there a way to determine that? thanks - kat

Most people around these days are after the quick earning scheme. If they don't see their chart rising up fast, they just quit. One should know the site better before doing so, especially here where you can earn without you knowing it by simply chatting with friends from all over. Good luck to your friend.

hi webzap, thanks for your response. it's normal for us to always want to earn money, but what is abnormal is when we want it knocking at our doorsteps with us doing less efforts. if only she have stayed for another day or two, or at least a week perhaps, i believe she could have found something interesting and worthy here in mylot. anyway, that's her life. have a great day! - kat

Well, just let that person decide on what good thing he knows. I advice you to constantly making your best to comment more and post more. Because the technique here is patient and more activities to earn

Yup! A great words, friend. That will be taken by some people who do not have patient. They don't know that patient will result to good things...

hi there please accept my friend request :) i agree that in whatever tasks we do, we have to practice patience. thus the saying, "patience is a virtue" - i have yet to meet a successful person who quits easily. anyway for us who believe in mylot, i also believe that we have greater chances of succeeding, because we know what we want and we wonk on it... patiently :) - kat

You are not alone. I've referred 3 people here as well and stopped after posting 2 to 4 threads/post. Earning online and even offline job always need motivation, persistence and courage.Especially doing online earning, we can't see the result overnight. So, at least you suggest this site to your friends and its not your lost if she quit.

Yes, you are not alone. I have plenty of that too in my downline team here. If one of your referred friends here quit, the best thing to do is, replace that one with ten more! Refer more people!

hi guys, i appreciate you comments on this discussion. i have tried my best to refer more friends here in mylot because of the referral bonus. i can honestly admit that. i convinced her to stay so i can earn from her. that was really the purpose of referring, right? but if and when my reputation as a friend is questioned just because she "didn't like it here" i have no other options but to let her go. i'm just frustrated when i see a potential on someone and that someone doesn't seem to recognize it on her own. - kat

Hi Kat Well, we always say patience is a virtue. But even I am guilty of doing things in my own pace and having things my way. Maybe what we could appreciate though is that this may not bring us to being filthy rich but this teaches us a small virtue, a discipline, should i say, that a lot of people forget nowadays as we are in the INSTANT generation and that is, as I've been saying in my first sentence, the virtue of patience. One time or another, I hope you could still influence your friend. Goodluck on that^^ and Au Revoir

mom! dad is... getting... married! what?! patience is like a (marian's) pause. if you are feeling bored in doing stuff, specially routine ones, take a breather. do not quit. i say, she quit cause she can't take the heat. 'choz! haha - kat

hello cher913, thanks for your response. i would appreciate it if you would accept my friend request. :) you are correct when you said that mylot requires hard work and dedication before you can earn money. i mean, these principles apply to other jobs, too. right? like what i said on the discussion, our attitudes will always speak about is. whether or not we are dedicated to our jobs, or if our determination is easily withered. - kat

That's what happened to me a few years ago--I only just started mylotting again. I was really frustrated because I wasn't earning fast enough. Now I have a little more time and patience to really sit down and start and respond to discussions.

hello there BeckyAnn, i sent you a friend request, i hope you could add me on your list :) that is good news! that you have regained your patience in mylotting and responding to discussions. mylot is not for everyone, i have read that several times already. but i guess when you feel boredom over something, you just have to take your time off, refresh a bit and return when you are ok. not really quit at all like what she did. thanks for your response. - kat

Sounds like she wants something for nothing. With that type of of impatience she will never be successful money wise online or probably anywhere else.

hi daveyboy54, thanks for your reply. i am sorry i haven't replied sooner. there's a part of us who wants income with less effort. i thing she belongs in that category. or that she is only the kind of person who is easily intimidated or discouraged. either way, she has tried it for me and i appreciate it. now, when she decided to quit i knew it was final. have a great day, friend. - kat

hi friend, i too leave mylot a few months ago, but money is not the reason. many factors are needed to be active in mylot. fistly time, then patience, ideas, mood for writing, etc. if all these factors combine we could be a fantastic member on mylot. but unfortunately some will not have patience, some will not have the writing skill, time is the problem for some, and it goes like that. i think in your friend, it is the lack of patience. or the thought that she cant write well or respond well. but in my view, we just share our ideas here, the lack of writing skill can be managed with ideas, am i right friends?

I think if the person is interested to answer the discussions and create new discussions, the lack of writing skills don't matter too much.

Too bad she didn't see any benefit to the conversations and comments, but everyone is different. You tried your best to do something nice and it just wasn’t for her. To succeed here I think one has to enjoy the conversations because the money is slow in coming. There has to be more than just wanting to earn money for someone to continue here, I think.

Oh my friend, you forgot to tell mylotters thet she likes writing too..,plus other things you have been doing online to eaarn money. My ground on this matter is, if you two have been earning money online using other method a part from writing, then you must understand that not everyone is gifted in this field. You may have flowing ideas to write but another person is struggling even to come up with a sentence on the same issue. If she is not into writing, then she did what her mind told her- by the way, it is not wise to struggle in anything if you want to earn from it. Everyone here knows that no one can survive on Mylot-tasks and CashGopher as the only cash stream..., but with writing one can. I don't blame her or the decision she made. But I urge you to encourage her in building 'writing thing' in her, taking her through basic contents that can build her morale in writing... I'm sure she will come back as a new and equipped writer.

hello there waflay, i have sent you a friend request, i would be glad if you could add me to your list of friends :) i don't think i can ever encourage her again. it's like i ruined my image just because she didn't like it here. anyway, i don't think i have to blame myself just because she didn't show any compassion or hard work here in myLot. again, it was her choice, her own decision to quit, i tried my very best to make her stay but once she decided on something she will pursue with it no matter what. i don't have spare time anymore to convince her otherwise. - kat

I'm sorry your friend has left. It's a really nice place here and you can learn a lot of things as well as have a lot of fun. But at the same time people have different preferences. May be your friend is not from the people who can talk about anything with everybody. I also don't like to open topics just for the sake of talking about something (that's why my earnings are not that great as well:). But at the same time I really enjoy reading what some of my friends are writing about. I think you should really enjoy what you're doing otherwise don't do it at all.

hello there elida279 at first i was sorry and sad too that she left mylot on her second day. maybe she is not really cut for online money making jobs. what i did not appreciate though is the fact that she has potential in making connections and friends here. i mean, i am enjoying it here, i knew she would too if only she didn't quit. anyway, we have different priorities and decisions in life. i respect her decision. i wish you a great day! :) - kat

Some people feel too entitled these days. They think they can log onto the internet and loads of cash will come their way without their having to do anything. Anyway, I wouldn't risk a friendship over a website. Either someone takes to it or they don't. It sounds like you gave it a good try, she was just never going to enjoy it.

hello RJlady1, how are you doing? i didn't risk our friendship, i guess i got frustrated the first time especially when she started complaining. because i am also just starting here in mylot. any negative emotions or words can affect my perception of the site. but the sooner i realized that she is the one with issues i continued mylotting and i'm earning nicely now. i guess, mylot is really not for everyone. especially if you have the attitude of a quitter. - kat

Well personally, over the yrs. that I have been a member here, I have seen a lot of people come and go. Even had some referals here myself who did nothing but complain and never do much here. Sometimes people just do not get it and do not want to do what it takes. I would just not let it bother you and move on, and have Fun. When you are making $$ you could mention it in passing but most people never want to do what it takes to earn online. They think we are supposed to always be able to get Rich quick.

It is too bad she quit, but as you said, it does not help you to try to win someone over who is so determined against learning. As others have said, MyLot is not for everyone, but if she did not delete the account, she may find that she changes her mind. I applaud you for seeing what the truth is about the site. I have been off for most of the last two weeks and of course I have not been earning, but when I am here and putting in effort, I will be earning. This is not a passive earning site.

how are you doing, GardenGerty? it's really too bad, too sad that she quit. i did my part in convincing her to stay here in mylot but once she made a decision it's final for her. i didn't need to convince her any further because that would only mean wasting my time. all the best to us who does not lose hope and dedication to myLot. hope you have a great weekend! - kat

Same here, i am also experiencing this same problem when i am introducing Mylot and other earning sites to two of my friends. They seems very curios to check out their earning daily. They would complain to me and said the earning is too low and don't interest them. Although i had tried to convince them but after nearly a week, both of them had stopped. They said they are not interest with my kind of earning. So, i was left to earn all by my own hard work. But, i am happy to see my earning slowly building up, too.

I think most important as the money you can earn here in MyLot, is the quality of responses you can write, like the discussions you will start here. We must do our best in favor of the lotters community. :)
