My husband had so long been suffering for the last two days from severe toothache. It was a case of dental caries. The affected tooth has been extracted and the pain is now completely vanished. He is now quite fit to enjoy a normal life. Luckily, I have not so far been a victim of toothache and so have no practical experience of it. Have you ever suffered from toothache? If yes, would you share your experience of it?

When it is in the beggining stage then its better go to a dentist so that they do Scaling and filling ,if the tooth requires .Pain usually comes when the tooth had started to get some problem ,so in the starting only should go to have a checkup and get it solved. If not it would lead to taking off the tooth from the mouth and getting a artificial one placed in its position.

It began in his childhood when treatment was not so much sophisticated and the guardians were not so much cautious about the health problems of their kids as they used to have a good number of children. So at present there is no option left other than extraction of the affected tooth.

yes it happens ,where there are no such good facilities and no knowledge about things it happens .I agree with ur statement "too many children can not be focused properly" .And now a days we get so many good treatments for many things, only money and proper care is needed to keep us fit.

I think modern day parents are very much careful about their children and so they always do a yearly medical check up of their children as they can afford it. This growing awareness of health check up of kids is no doubt a very good sign and it would definitely help in proper growth and development of the modern day kids.

You are a very lucky person, I thought there are no people on the world who haven't suffered from this. Toothache is a terrible pain, you cannot focus on anything else when you have it. Every pain is terrible, but this is one of the worst, because has a terrible influence of our speaking and our eating habits. So I wish you to never experience this kind of pain.

Yes, you are right, but I was thinking about this common pains, like headache, toothache and so on. Of course, serious illnesses are much more worse, but that is understandable, because they are threatening our lives.

Toothache may be one of the worst pains but one thing you must admit that we can feel it as worst as most of us have its experience at some moment in life but there are also other pains which may be worse than toothache but fortunately they are not so common as toothache and hence we do not take them into account.

Suffering from a toothache is no Fun. Especially if it is from issues where your teeth that broken off, etc. like some of mine have due to being Diabetic. I do not have Dental insurance so I cannot afford to go to a Doctor. I have heard there are programs here in the US that might help diabetics but never found anything yet that would help me.

Your statement shows that visiting even a dentist without a Dental insurance is very costly in your country. This means that the health picture is not encouraging at all for at least the common people who cannot afford the money for an insurance. But thanks to God that in spite of being so much poverty in our country, we have the option to visit a dentist free of cost in any government run hospital.

Yes I have suffered from a toothache, actually two when my wisdom teeth would not come through. I suffered for a very long time, to find later they had to dig in there and carve them out. The roots were wrapped in my gums causing them not to come through. The pain is the worse pain I have ever felt. In all honesty it was worse pain then having both of my children. As you see having labor pains ends and with toothaches the pain is continual until something gets done. There is nothing we can do to alleviate the pain until dental work is done.
It has been my experience to be the worse pain ever. I am glad your husband is now pain free.

Your toothache was due to wisdom teeth but my husband was a victim of dental caries. Both need surgery, the former to carve them out and the latter to extract.

You are lucky enough that you belong to the new generation when parents are too much careful about the health of their children. But we who belong to the older generation were not so lucky during our childhood as our parents usually had a good number of children.

I think raw garlic may be a big help in the initial stages but if there is formation of a big cavity, it is better to go for an extraction of the affected tooth.

I can commisserate with your husband's pain since I have experienced it. The prolblem with toothache is that there is no let-up in it once it starts and quite often the only action to take it to have it pulled out. I attend a dentist twice a year and that means that I can avoid having teeth pulled out now, but when I was a kid, I didn't go as often as I needed to go, and that's why I had to have fillings and some teeth removed. Always best to go for check-ups. _Derek

It is very suffering to have the toothache. I had experienced it before. And I couldn't help crying because I felt painful. So I know I must pay attention to my dental health. I will brush my teeth carefully. Besides, I will use the water pick and mouthwash so that it will be good for my teeth.

Lucky, lucky, lucky you if you have not had experienced toothache! Oh my,,, toothache is excruciating. When it comes, it stops my world so I hate to have any of my tooth aching. Well of course those toothache days happened when I was young. Now that I am old enough and know fully well how to take care of my teeth, I would never ever allow toothache to visit me once more. I've already totally closed the door to toothaches.

I got a toothache 2 weeks ago, and I don't want to extract it out, so the dentist recommend me to do a root canal. Actually, I am not finished yet, since the root canal is down, I need to have a crown set on it too. I hope that insurance will pay it all, but it seems I still gotta pay 20% of it.

During my school days i was very anaemic, sickly and underweight.I was also a very poor eater. I had tooth problems and used to suffer from toothache quite often.I was quite a regular visitor to the dentist and had even had a couple of my gums extracted. However after going to college my health suddenly improved and all my teeth problems vansished.I have not had any problems upto now by the grace of God and being in the mid 60`s i sincerely hope that i never have them at all.I know what your husband must have gone through since i have gone through it myself. Again since i am not fond of sweets i think must be another reason why i have not suffered from toothache for the last so many years.

I was never taught as a young child how to take care of my teeth. It was taught in the schools at that time and my family just didn't. So now here I am at nearly 60 with about 15 teeth left and no money to get dentures. So I have two abcesses in my mouth that my daughter has been good enough to give me anti-biotics for a couple of times now. I have had toothaches when younger and cloves usually helped.

Yes I have had toothaches. They go away when I take some Tyenol or Advil. I never would let a toothache go on as long as your husbands! I have dental insurence and I would go to the dentist to see if he could help. Most people I know who have toothaches don't let it get so bad pulling the tooth is the only option.

Our teeth is a very valuable, no matter how nutritious foods we eat we cannot take the full advantage of it if we have poor teeth. There's a saying " our stomach has no teeth" needless to say it is essential for digestion and nutrition. Tooth ache is terrible, it makes you want to bang your head on the wall
