A really good skin tip

I came across a really good skip care tip that I have tried and really like the results so far. It's a lemon sugar mixture and it's so simple. Just get a lemon (or if you don't have lemons available you can use the orgainc lemon juice in the bottles shaped like a lemon) and put that lemon juice on a cotton ball or cotton pad. Then put sugar on the lemon coated cotton. Then just rub it all over your face. The sugar is a good skin softner, and the lemon is good at lightening any imperfections (freckles, acne, etc). This mixture also scrapes off the dead skin cells on your face and your skin will appear brighter, be softer, and look more healthy. Before doing this, wash your face with warm water. This will open your pores and it will be more effective. And after cleansing with the lemon-sugar mixture rinse your face with cold water, this will tighten and close your pores. You can also use lime juice in substitution for the lemon, but I think the lemon will be more effective. So use a lemon if you can, but if for any reason that's not possible, more to lime. I would suggest doing this 1-3 times a month. If your skin becomes irriated then I would suggest reducing that number. You can also try diluting the limon juice to help avoid irritation. Just mix the lemon juice and a little bit of water in a bowl and dip the cotton into it, then add the sugar. If you do not have any cotton balls or cotton pads available to you, you can also just cute the lemon in half, put the sugar straight on the lemon, and rub the lemon on your face. But this can irritate your skin even more, so if that happens I would suggest you don't do it again, buy some cotton balls, and dilute the lemon juice. Remember, lemon juice IS acidic, so you have to use it sparingly. I tried this mixture and I really liked how my face felt after this, you can really see a small immediate difference. And I'm hoping I'll see a bigger change the more I do it.

I was wondering for what skin type this is good for? Sounds like for one that is more oily to normal, correct? I use a sugar and miracle whip one that is good for dry skin that I like..

I think lemon dries out skin (that's why it's good to use an oil free moitsurizer after doing this), so I don't think it would be good for dry skin. Or if you have really sensitive skin, might be more prone to irritation. Sugar and miracle whip? Never heard of that one. What's it specifically good for? Just helping with dry skin or other issues?

I only use a little sugar because it doesn't take much to get that pumice effect. As for when it dries, it kind of feels like I guess any other conditioner when it dries on your skin, because miracle whip has that kind of texture...

Thanks for this. I'll keep it in mind for the summer. It's winter here and I have a type of psoriasis on my forehead that creates flaky skin which bleeds underneath when the skin comes away...imagine lemon juice on that...yee-ouchy!

I have read this before and meant to try it but never did. I forgot all about it. Thank you for reminding me of it! Also you can you it all over your body as a rub and not just your face... use a nice lotion after if you want to.

Yeah I read the body wash thing too. I'll probably do that eventually, but really I need to just focus on my face right now. I had to try it immediatly after seeing a video on youtube on the lemon-sugar scrub. I'm really happy I did try it! Thanks moon!

This sounds like a more afforadable way then what I used to use. I used to buy the dove body bars and wash my face with them. It softens your face and gets rid of acne fast. Actually I'd use the soap as a mask and it really really helped. We have all the ingredients I need for this little facial treatment you suggested though, and so I amy just try it. I don't wash my face very much as I don't wear makeup, it's usually just rinsing my face off, or if I sweat using soap to wash my face also.

Yeah this def. is inexpensive. I have tried for SO LONG (years and years) to find something that will help me with my slight acne problem, with no luck. I'm really hoping this works in ridding me of my acne. If it doesn't though, maybe I'll have to look into those Dove bars. Haha Good luck! I'll let you know what my long term results are, you make sure you let me know!

I'm doing this mask again for the second time. It starts to feel very tight very quickly, you can feel it working to tighten the skin, which is great. But I must warn you, it can start to get itchy too, but it's something you can kind of handle and push through.
