Sometimes when i just think what if electricity has just vanished and we cannot use our computers anymore. Our albums wil be inaccessable. ... maybe ill just print today some pictures,justincase... you'llnever know... :)

Hi michaelv!
I admit, I have a lot of photo albums in Facebook and a lot of my photos are in my flash disks and external drive but I still have my classic photo albums. When digital camera and flash disks weren't popular yet, I loved collecting pictures, printing them and putting them in albums. I loved buying pretty and cute photo albums. I have a lot of albums from my college years. The pictures I collected during my high school years are a mess and a lot are missing because I wasn't very good at keeping them before. But during college, I learned to be protective of my things so I was able to preserve my albums. I still look at my albums once in a while, there's a different feel to it than looking at photos in the computer.
Cheers.

i always love to browse thru my photo albums. It does not require me to use electricity and a computer to let me look thru the past. I always smile to see the people that i had been and the looks that we got from the past which are very different from the present. i guess i will be making another new album some time :)

I have a friend who owns a photo printing business and they eventually shut it down. The reason: poor sales. She told me that printing of pictures will eventually become obsolete because our pictures can be stored elsewhere. And "elsewhere" would mean flash disks, USB's, digital scrap book, Facebook album, etc. Unlike before where photos are memories to be treasured in an album.

I guess that business will really suffer. yup that's the point, what if your USB gets corrupted, or your HDD crushed. Or there will be months of no electricity.. It's kinda sad this art is somewhat forgotten.

Our family still have the family albums as far back as the 1900s. Gramps and Grams were very found and pictures and have the large, dusty ones aomwhere in the house. The tradition was carried out by the following generations but in our generation, we had the digital photo albums. But we still print pictures when the hard drive becomes full. Also, it is a good resource when the school asks the usual family portraits and doing the family tree.
Though I am not found of non-digital photo albums, I always visit them when I'm in the mood for reminiscing. The pictures are always a subject of fascination, wonder and conversation.

I so agree to that. We all take pictures because we want to immortalize something, and seeing pictures of yesteryears do bring a lot of memories back. I have been taking so much pictures since I started blogging and traveling, and yes, I am also thinking of having some pictures printed, because no one knows the password of my laptop and Facebook... and it would be quite difficult for my family to check the DVDs every so often if they want to see the images.
