Yesterday, i visited one of my friends home and was invited by her to have lunch in her home. I discovered that her kitchen have many kinds of dipping sauce and one of them is soy sauce. What so familiar about it!!! Even in my home, i even have a bottle of soy sauce standing along with my other sauce. Seems like, soy sauce had been one of the important components for cooking in the Chinese cuisine. How about you, do you have a bottle of soy sauce in your home?

Oh yeah, Malaysian can't get rid the soy sauce from their kitchens!!! I said to my mom, I can just live with soy sauce, rice and fried egg as my dinner and that's enough for me!! I always have them everyday in my meal~ It makes the food more tasty!! Because I really love to have it with the rice my family called me as' Hantu Kicap'!!!(^^)

Hi myfb!
Yeah, we have soy sauce in our kitchen. I think we seldom lack soy sauce at home because it is also one of the many important seasonings in Filipino dishes. It is also one of the many condiments that Filipinos use at home along with vinegar, ketchup, and many others. Soy sauce is usually partnered with citrus or calamansi. One or two calamansi is cut into halves and then squeezed into the soy sauce as a condiment for fried fish, pork or anything. Sometimes, if calamansi is not present, vinegar is mixed with the soy sauce. On the other hand, vinegar with garlic is also a condiment for fried fish and pork.

The price is not stable for calamansi. Sometimes it's cheap, sometimes it's expensive.

We use the low sodium soy sauce. I even used to have it my chinese tea when we at the chinese restaurants. Just the right amount makes it very tasty. My cousins used to fix macaroni and put alittle margarine in it and salt and pepper and some soy sauce for those meals at the end of the month when you don't have much left. It doesn't look that great but it really is pretty good. Depends on what you're used to.

No, the soy sauce in Chinese tea isn't good at all. I just remember doing it.

How funny you should post this today--we were eating rice and fish last night for dinner, and as we were cooking, I realized we were out of soy sauce, so I quickly sent my husband to the store to buy some! We have a hard time eating white rice without soy sauce--especially my younger son. It is his favorite condiment.

I posted it here out of curiosity. Because i was having lunch at my friend's home. I saw many types of soy sauce in her kitchen. Then i think back, in my own home i have 2 bottles of soy sauce in my kitchen, too. Yes, it seems all of us are addicted to soy sauce.

Yes, we do have a soy sauce at home. It is a must have condiments for us. We have this famous Filipino recipe where the major flavoring is soy sauce. This dish is called "adobo". I don't know if other countries have adobo recipe. One can cook chicken or pork adobo.

We do have soy sauce in our kitchen. It is used to cook, but we love the light-color soy sauce as we don't like dark-color soy sauce. It is part of the seasonings for food, though.

Yes, I do have a bottle of it. I like to make Chinese food sometimes so I always have a bottle around, also it is good to put in marinade for meat so I use it for that too. Plus it is good to have a bottle in case you order Chinese food and they don't give you enough soy sauce for everyone with your food. I always have a bottle of soy sauce on hand.

Though I really don't use soy sauce on a regular basis, it is something that I do keep in my house. It is good for many different recipes that I like to cook. It is a great way to add flavor to different things that I like to cook. In fact, I have a recipe that I've been wanting to try that calls for soy sauce among many other things to make the sauce for the chicken. I've got some extra chicken that I bought this week so I might have to give that a try.

Yeah, aside from the ordinary salt(now it's iodized)and the fish sauce which is also common in all homes, soy sauce is added too which is an inexpensive source of protein.

Absolutely yes In Japanese cuisine soy sauce is really important, there are so many dishes that you can't prepare if you don't have soy sauce. Same comes for sushi and sashimi. Some people like it without dipping it in soy sauce, but for me the taste is incomplete without it.
When preparing chinese food I prefer using oyster sauce instead of soy sauce, but I supposed it depends on each person's preferences

Always because it is very useful when you are cooking and as a dipping as well. It's cheaper and always available in the market. Many also love to have this and enjoy eating with this.
