Don't talk with your mouth full, Don't stare at people, Don't pick your nose in public, and if you make an ugly face at people your face will stay like that forever. What did your Mama tell you not to do....and did you listen?

When I went to visit my mom..her and her mother would sit me on a book and teach me about forks and spoons etc. Manners were huge for them. I was raised by my father's parents and they were a bit more relaxed..lol. As I was growing up my grandfather always said...Never go to Bourbon Street in Louisiana

When i was little i used to play cricket a lot. Just because of cricket i forgot to had my lunch, my breakfast. No bathing, no brush, nothing. So my Mumma used to shout on me a lot. Don't you dare go out to play cricket. But anyhow i managed to go out in the morning and used to come in the evening. Years and years went away, i grown up but i never listened to my Mom. Still i used to play cricket but now my Mom don't used to shout on me.

Sadly I don't think my Mother told me much about anything like that. I had to figure it out on my own what was acceptable to do or not do from friends, school, and tv.

har har har, i am having a hard time thinking what will i response on your post for a million of things rush in my head. we are 5 children in the family and i am the first born... next to me is a boy too so you can imagine how chaotic our house is specially when mom is not around. always be polite specially when there is visitor, dont say something when the person is not talking to you, brush your teeth, clean your room, take a bath and a lot more things that makes me laugh now that i realize that our mom does not get tired of telling this to us everyday. now the question is did we listen? i guess the only time i started listening when i was a teen already. i no longer enjoy mom scolding me when there are people who can hear.

My mom never tell me the things that your mom told you! For what I remember, my mom only used to say to not talk with strangers and not accept candies or anything from them. I did listen to her.

Keep your elbows off the table. Make sure your underwear are clean, just in case your in an accident. Turn down that music or you'll go deaf. don't sit so close to the tv, you will go blind. Tie your shoes so you don't trip. And no usually it went in one ear and out the other.

Have you heard that song "I hear Voices?"..its a country song and the words fit my life.....like putting money in the offering tray in church...don't do this....don't do that and its the different voices from their life like mom, dad and grandparents! Listen to the song....most of those things are the same things my parents told me....also make sure to wear clean underwear in case of an accident!

Yes, my mama used to tell me those things and as a child I always listen to her. I tell my little girl things like these too, and she kind of listen to me too. I guess children always listen to what the older folks say.
