Well some of you mylotters might be aware that we lost our pet a few months back but found it within 24 hours but yes, we have lost him again. He was missing for about a couple of days or so this time but having spoken to a friend of mine who is experienced at keeping snakes told me not to worry and he would come out as soon he smelt his food on feeding day. Also as it is summer he would find somewhere cosy and warm to hide. My son's bedroom window was open and I was worried he had climbed out and got away, but I put his food on a plate on the floor of my son's bedroom and sure enough within half an hour or so, out he slithered!!
Have you lost the same pet more than once?

Hi there ElicBxn
I don't think that ours is a particularly intelligent snake as he doesn't go far and he doesn't return to the warmth of his vivarium, so you do wonder why he got out in the first place hahaha I really didn't think he was going to be so easy to catch either. I was worried he was going to come out when we slept, grabbed his food and hid again as I know that at least a day after that he will excrete his food and it will stink to high heaven as I am sure you are aware!
Thanks for your response and I am happy to hear that you have never lost your snakes entirely

Mother of God - you have a snake as a pet? If I was your neighbour then I would move I am terrified of snakes but fortunately there are only a few out here that do not damage at all and are small. Much as I love my kids they could never had had a snake as a pet. You are good girl

Hi ya cynth
It is only a corn snake and although it is going to grow to be quite big it is not poisonous or a restricter or else it wouldn't be in my house for sure. He was behind my son's cabinet and luckily it is summer or else he might not have survived our cold house if it were the middle of winter! At least all is well and he is safely back home!
Thanks for your response cynth and I hope all is well with you!

Still would not want it! Did you get the photos that I sent you of my daughter's wedding? I used the old email address so do not know if you have a new one.

You may wish to check inside the underneath of the sofa and chairs in the home. When Lucy got out that's where she headed each time. Her favorite place was the sofa. She got right in the corner and would curl up. She was so strong and we would play heck at getting her out since she wanted to be there more than anywhere, well with the except of going on rides and being in bed with my son. lol
If he is still in the house he will have found a spot that is dark and warm, warmer than just being out in the open.
If he got outside many pets have come back home just to get inside their home and bed. They will go out and explore but they come back to "their" place when they are ready to. So be careful when you step out she may be balled up at the door and let your neighbors know he is out in case she goes there looking for her bed.
Good luck finding you little one, because he is not use to being out if outside.

I never lost a pet and I think I would be crazy if I ever lose my little dog. I only had two dogs in my life and we always be overprotective with them.

Yes, I have lost a pet. We can't tie our cat unlike dog. So we let them out. Unfortunately, our cat played once in a car parked outside our house. The owner didn't notice and so he took the car with our cat on it. Sad thing. It is a common thing that cat come and go. We never buy cat. They just come from somewhere. So whenever they lost, we just feel bad but we don't exert effort and waste time to find them.

No I haven't. My goldfish weren't great explorers! LOL. I did have a rabbit that used to live in the garden occasionally visiting next door. They had a Jack Russell who was terrified of the bunny and would run yelping if she dropped by! Snakes give me the willies. A friend has one and thankfully she hides in her vivarium whenever I visit. I have tried to be brave and have changed her water a couple of times under supervision. Mercifully she's not slithered out to see me. The only type of boa I like is feather and worn around the neck of lovely ladies!! LOL.

Hi. I hope you find him. No, I haven't lost a pet before and I'm glad it never happened. Right now, I have a pet hedgehog and I'm always checking on him because his a climber. Lol.

Yes I have, my cat and my dogs not all at once though. It seems as soon as spring or fall comes around they just want to wonder around and smell and experience the new "air" and just slink out of the house with out us knowing most of the time. Others they just bolt (mainly the dogs) right under your feet and take off like they had hot sauce on their tails. They do come back, but I look for them around the neibourhood. It can be very scary and very very frustrating.
