working children

I have seen many children who are working for a living. Many of them walk on the street to sell something like candies, newspapers and bottled water. Some of them beg for food and money from the people. Others sing on the bus and jeepney (public transportation) to entertain passengers and hoping that one of them gives a little money. Some children are suffering from poverty. Lack of food, improper shelter and no education are being experienced by them. Poor little ones. Although, both government and private sectors help and support the less fortunate but it isn't enough for the hundreds of children who have an empty stomach.
Children are innocent and they should have good care from parents. I love children and it hurts me when I see their situation.

I feel sorry for these children and that I hope that there is a law that apprehends these children's parents. Not only will they grow up having children like them, but also they can be a threat to the society committing crimes because they are left with no choice. And I believe that the government has enough funds to help them. I don't think it will take a million for a single child to be saved from this because a single politician can steal the people's money by the hundreds of millions just all for himself. We have a law and i don't think making more law for the protection of these children will take that much money because we have the government agencies that are intended for these and they are not doing their jobs. They say that child labor is illegal, but why are still so many children put to work? It is very sad. I could only wish that at least some people or politician will not take these for granted because they are inhabitants of a country and it is the government's responsibility to look after them.

Most politicians are crooks. How could they steal huge amount of money while the others are suffering? Selfishness is the culprit. Some people aren't contented of what they have. Big house, Luxurious Cars. Huge savings in the bank. Big income. Yet, still try to steal to have more????? I wonder how they feel when they see children dying from hunger. I wonder how they feel when they see little children working on the street. Helping others to survive and fulfill their needs is one way of lessening the crime rates in a place.

Yes tess_quinain street children are very rampant in the street and our government and private sectors are not exerting more efforts about this issue. However we cannot blame our government and private sectors on these matter because first things first is that PARENTS should be the first to guide, educate and nurture their children. We can't deny the fact that we have seen some parent's using their children to ask for alms, foods and other help. They are abusing children's innocence. And this kind of parents should be mandated by the government. They should be lectured and at least be given a mall business for their source of living.

I have seen them to and I really feel sad that these are happening to such innocent little things. They do not belong there, they should be at their homes playing and in school learning enjoying their childhood. This will only show that many parents are irresponsible. I hope that the government will act on this things and once and for all, take control of the situation. We have this reproductive health care bill that is quite an issue now but it has not move and from what I see, the government lacks the political. When will we learn? It there still hope? A question that always comes in my mind. Till that question is answered, we continue to see these tiny angels in the street and as time passes by, the will grow more in numbers.

Hi. Yes, I agree with you. It's mostly their parents fault. Couples shouldn't get pregnant unless they can afford to raise a child. Otherwise it is the child that suffers.

This is so terrible. But our power is limited,we can't help all of them. But if we have an organization,I think we can help more children. We can organize a team to help these children. We can donate money to the organization. Then the organization can regullay help these children.

In that situation not only the children involve, the main problem of that are the parents who's not doing their obligations to their children and leave work hard for their own good some parents as i see at the road have a lots of kids and that's what we call ( DO RE ME ) age of 1yr, 2 yrs, 3yrs and they use the child as their props, make them cry and beg to the by passers. And after that when the child is older, as what they see for their parents whats they do...

That is a tough way to work. My granddaughter, who is four, does some professional modeling, now and then, but laws protect her from hard and long work. She has fun doing it and that is how it should be. Their only work should be playing, school work and helping around the house, appropriate to their age.
Unfortunately, the world is not all a happy and sunny place and it is so sad to see children having to do that. It hurts me, too.

here in the philippines same situation too, or are you from philippines? i think the government need to educate the people that having children is not a joke, especially on those less fortunate, but we can't do anything about that anymore, i just hope that the government and the business sectors will put more budget on helping them.
